INTRODUCTION
Training is the process of increasing the knowledge and skills. Training is the most
important need for organization as well as person’s life.
Development is the long-term process which help us and organization to build up
over all performance.

Concept of Training and Development
Since, training is a continuous process and not a one shot affairs, it consumes time
and money. Therefore it is necessary that a training program or policy should be
prepared well for establishment as well as the needs of the employee.
Development is most of all the result of the synergy among millions of innovation
initiatives people take everyday in the local society generating new and more
effective ways of producing, trading and managing their resources and institution.
Training and development = standard performance – actual performance

MEANING
Training is the process of teaching new and present employee the basic
skills they need to effectively performing their job.
Training is the short term process utilizing a systematic and organized
procedures by which non-managerial skills for a defined purpose.
Development is the evolutionary process of creating the conditions
necessary to achieve those illusion.
Development is a “long-term educational process utilizing a systematic
and organized procedure by which managerial personnel learn
conceptual and theoretical knowledge for general purpose’’

Development refers to philosophical and theoretical educational concept.
Training and Development differs in four ways:
a) “what” is learned?
b) “who” is learned?
c) “why” such learning takes place?
d) “ when” learning occurs?

DEFINITION
TRAINING
Training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skills of an employee for performing the job
assigned to him. Thus training is a short term process. After an employee is selected, placed
and introduced in an organization he must be provided with training facilities so that he can
perform his job efficiently and effectively.
DEVELOPMENT
Development is a long-term educational process utilizing an organized and systematic procedure
by which managerial personnel learn conceptual knowledge for general purpose.

Importance of training and development.
1. To improve productivity :- purposeful instruction can help employee increase
their level of performance on their present assignment.
2. To improve quality:- better informed workers are less likely to make
mistakes, quality increase mainly in relationship to a co. product are serve in
reference to the intangible organizational employment atmosphere.

3. To help a co. fulfill its future personal needs:- organizations that have a good
internal educational program will have to make less drastic man power change
and adjustment in the event of sudden personal alternatives.
4. To improve organizational climate:- an endless chain of a positive reaction result
from a well- planned training program. Production and product quality may
improve; financial incentives may be increased, internal promotion becomes
trussed, less pressure ensure and basic pay rate increase result.

5. To improve healthy and safety:- proper training can help, prevent industrial
accident. A safer work environment leads to more stable mental attitude on the
part of employees.
6. Obsolescence prevention:- training and development program fasten the
inactivity and creativity of employees can help to prevent man power
obsolesce, which may be due to age temperament or motivation or inanity of a
person to adopt himself to technological changes.

7. Personal growth;- Employees on a personal basis gain individual from
their exposure to educational experiences.
8. Reduced cost :- training and development result with optimal
utilization of resources in a company or organization. There is no
wastage of resources which may causes extra expenses.

CONCLUSION
Training and development are the most basic elements of every organization and
human life. Without training and development, a person or organizations would
not come across the actual performance of life or job.
Therefore every organizations or human being most appropriately used the term “
Training and Development” which would not disrupt failure, but would take them
to achieve its goal easily.
