4. THE BANK OF PUNJAB HISTORY
The Bank of Punjab was established in 1989, in pursuance of The Bank of Punjab
Act 1989 and was given the status of scheduled bank in 1994.The Bank of Punjab
is working as a scheduled commercial bank with its network of 272 branches at all
major business centers in Pakistan. The Bank provides all types of banking services
such as Deposit in Local Currency, Client Deposit in Foreign Currency,
Remittances, and Advances to Business, Trade, Industry and Agriculture A wholly
owned subsidiary of BOP First Punjab Modaraba (FPM) was established in 1992
and is being managed by Punjab Modaraba Services (Pvt) Ltd

7. ORGANIZATION’S PROFILE
The bank of Punjab was contribute in pursuance of the bank of Punjab Act 1989
and it started working on 15Nov. 1989. Its registered had office is situated at.
7-Egerton Road, Lahore. The BOP was given the status of scheduled bank by
the state Bank of Pakistan on September 19, 1994
The bank of Punjab is listed at Lahore and Karachi Stock exchange. Fifty on
percent (51%) of the share capital is held by the government of Punjab and the
rest is owned by Pakistani individuals/firms and foreigners.
The bank strives to be a world class financial institution working on modern
line. It aims at offering the financial market of the global economy a unique
system which would revolutionize the ethics and value system of the economic

10. NATURE OF THE ORGANIZATION
A unit of service industry OF Pakistan, BOP (commercial Bank) is engaged in
the borrowing, lending and advancing of money, the drawing, making, accepting,
discounting, buying, selling, collecting and dealing in bills of exchange,
promissory notes, draft, bills of lading, receipts, warrants, debentures,
certificates etc.
It is also engaged in the buying, selling of foreign exchange including foreign
bank notes, the acquiring, holding, issuing on commission, underwriting and
dealing in stocks, funds, shares, debentures, the negotiating of loans and
advance, the receiving of all kinds of bonds, valuables on deposit or for safe
custody.
The providing of safe deposit vaults the collecting and transmitting of money and
securities
The Bank provides all types of banking services such as Deposit in Local
Currency, Client Deposit in Foreign Currency, Remittances, and Advances to
Business, Trade, Industry and Agriculture.
As agriculture is considered as backbone of our economy The Bank of Punjab
has introduced "Kissan Dost Agriculture Finance Scheme" to small farmers

Punjab province. It is difficult u manage the large number of
branches, further increase the cost, the staff member of the
bank of Punjab are not satisfied with the pay scale increments
and promotion criteria as compare other banks.
The work responsibilities are broken into small parts.
There is offer regular product line. There is need to enhance
the product line.
Turnover rate of unemployed increase as they are not satisfy
within the pay structure

As economy is growing there is more
investment demand in Pakistan. Banks have
opportunity to enhance their business.

funds to enhance their infrastructure to improve
the quality. Banks are the source of these

the government policies it may affect the bank

threat of bank of Punjab
The state bank of Pakistan often imposes various restrictions on
banks therefore none of bank is in depended in policy making and
can launch any product without the permission of the state bank of
Pakistan

concluded that currently Bank of Punjab has
a high market share. So we can say that the
management of Bank of Punjab is very loyal
to its “Customer Service policy”
