My first idea for a short film is a psychological drama/thriller. The film would be about a man who is
obsessed with another woman. He is madly in love with her. He creates a fake identity and pretends
to be another man. The actual man is isolated from society and has never been in love. He has never
received affection and love. Short flashback will be provided of him going to home from school as ten
year old. His mother was an alcoholic and was psychologically abusive him
Fast forward and you see the disturbed man meeting up with the attractive woman. She believes him
to be an attractive, successful individual. She speaks to the man and dismisses his importance. Once
she realises it was a ‘catfish’, she becomes very offensive and starts screaming the horrid names his
mother would call him. Both voices could be heard as the man holds his head in his hands. He drags
the woman to an alleyway and begs him for his forgiveness. The woman becomes very agitated and
slaps the man. The man suddenly goes on a rant in a child form. He appears to have very childlike
mannerisms and not in the right mental state. There is a close up of his face as he snaps out of it. The
film ending with the woman left dead on the pavement.
This film would be a documentary about the all the fun aspects to the teenage life.
The film would begin with close ups of teenagers each saying a word about what
they think is positive about the teenage life. This would be sped once edited to make
it very engaging. There could be a slow motion of teenagers in skater parks,
portraying them as active, life loving individuals. A mini prank could also be
orchestrated to showcase the humorous aspects of adolescence.
We could interview a teenager in a residential home and ask an elderly member
what they think of the teenager. We would take lots of shots of teenagers and edit it
to make it very modern and appealing to a teenage audience but an audience of all
ages.
