prepares the learners as they progress
in the material. This tends to teach
students on how to unlock difficult
words independently in a reading text
using context clues.
What is WAW as a strategic
intervention material?
7. For the students to:
•Improve their skill in getting the
meaning of unfamiliar words in the
reading text
•Create interesting and challenging
learning environment that would
encourage active participation
among learners
•Provide students with hands-on
activities
Why employ WAW?

of the intervention material.
•The students will be oriented on the
different parts of the learning
material.
•The students will be guided through
as they progress in the learning
procedure.
•The students are asked to check their
own answers against the Answer
Card every after the given exercise.
How is WAW employed?
9. •What is the Pre-test and Post- test
results before and after the
intervention?
• Is there any significant difference
between the results of Pre-test and
Post-test before and after the
intervention?
•What is the effect size of WAW to
enhance the students’ vocabulary
skills?
Research Questions
10. •Mean and standard deviation will be
used to determine the pre test and
post test scores.
•Paired sample tests will be used to
determine the significant difference
between the pre test and post test.
•Eta2 will be used to determine the
effect size of the material.
