This document discusses the VideoFunet project, which aims to develop video technology in Finland's university and research network (FUNET). The project was launched based on recommendations to improve usage of existing videoconferencing infrastructure across Finnish universities and polytechnics. Key goals include developing a centralized reservation system, national addressing system, and providing technical and educational resources through the video.funet.fi website. Upcoming projects focus on reservation systems, gateways, and recommendations to address firewall and recording issues. International cooperation is also emphasized.
