Air conditioner units have air filters to block dirt and
dust particles. The longer these filters stay in the
unit, the dirtier they become and the harder the air
conditioner has to work to cool the air. Change your
filters every 30-60 days.
Dead leaves and other debris build up around the
outdoor condensing unit during the winter. If the
unit’s walls are blocked by debris, the fan may over
heat and cause the unit to fail.
An air conditioner’s drain line becomes clogged when
the unit has run too long without an air filter or with a
dirty air filter. A build up of dirt clogs the drain line, it
will usually go into the drain pan, which can overflow
and cause water damage to the home.
Get a tune-up for your air conditioner. A technician
will clean your condenser coils, tighten and repair
electrical components, check the refdgerant and
more to make sure your unit is up to code and running
efficently.
