This document summarizes the writer's experience in a writing course and highlights several assignments that helped improve their skills. It discusses how assignments like telling a personal story with pictures, creating a digital project about teaching their daughter to drive, writing research summaries, and designing a writing lesson helped them develop different writing techniques. It also explains how in-class activities like sharing ideas with peers and learning about new topics contributed to their understanding of how to teach and engage students in writing. The writer feels the course overall helped them grow as both a writer and a future teacher by giving them opportunities to practice, receive feedback, and learn multiple ways of presenting their work.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Francesca Gottschalk - How can education support child empowerment.pptxEduSkills OECD
Francesca Gottschalk from the OECD’s Centre for Educational Research and Innovation presents at the Ask an Expert Webinar: How can education support child empowerment?
1. Preface
Throughout the semester, this writing course has helped me develop not only as writer,
but has also given me various ways to learn how to teach writing to others. The in-class
readings, writings, and interactions with my peers all contributed to my newly acquired skills as
a proficient writer. The following are specific assignments that show my writing capabilities and
my progression throughout the course.
Little Bird Tale
This assignment shows who I am, what my interests are, and a little bit about my personality. It
helped me to focus on the details of describing my life in short paragraphs where I was able to
describe my life in descriptive ways. Having the assignment incorporate pictures with my
writing, helped my writing show more detail and give my audience a visual while reading and
listening to each individual topic I was writing.
Multimodal Project and Reflection
This project required putting together a digital story about a personal semiotic domain that I was
learning in my life (teaching my daughter to drive). Although at times it was a challenge to use a
new program for my project, it helped me understand how students need to be challenged not
only in their writing, but also in broadening their writing assignments to venture out to other
means of displaying their work.
Research Annotations
These research annotations required overviews of articles that I needed to read for a future
assignment. This was a great way to learn how to gather important information from academic
articles and present them together into a short summary. Through this writing assignment, I
learned how to be a specific in my writing and how to critically ask questions and formulate my
thoughts about various subjects of teaching.
Memorandum to Principal
This writing assignment required using research annotations from the previous assignment and
write a memorandum to a school principal on how educators of writing can better engage their
students and help them excel in the writing process. Using multiple ideas from educational
resources, I was able to learn ways that teachers can better teach and engage students when
learning to write. Having this assignment also taught me how to incorporate my learning,
research, and use it for a realistic and practical way.
2. Writing Assignment Sequence
This writing assignment incorporates nonfiction and allows students to explore their own
knowledge and then progress and research more about their topic of choice. Putting together a
writing assignment for students helped me to put into practice the various things that I had
learned throughout the semester. Creating and presenting a lesson outline for students helped me
as a future teacher understand how the writing process can be implemented into the classroom
and how assignments can be built upon the next one.
Informal Writing (revised in-class writing)
This informal writing was done during a practice-writing session where I was introduced to a
mentor text and then asked to duplicate a piece of my own writing to match the mentor’s
example. I was assigned to write about an “ahha moment” in the 2nd person. Seeing how mentor
texts can aid in teaching writing was a great example to follow. I learned that I could give
students an example (mentor text), but also allow them the freedom to create can help them
express their feelings on paper and enjoy the process of writing.
All of these assignments gave me many opportunities to practice and refine my writing in
various ways. I feel that some of my best writing came when I was given a topic, shown an
example, and then I was allowed freedom to create and display my work. Sharing personal
information about myself, like in my Little Bird Tale and learning about a new semiotic domain
(teaching my daughter to drive) encouraged me to express my individual experiences and style
and strive to work harder to improve my writing ability. Participating in class also contributed to
my learning of writing. Whether it was going on a field trip to downtown Chico businesses to
learn about new semiotic domains or sharing with partners and groups about my ideas for writing
and what I learned from academic articles on teaching, all helped me understand how to engage
students in writing and to find joy the writing process. I feel I have also branched out of my
standard way of writing and have learned to use multiple digital programs to present my work.
Having this course not only helped me as writer, but also has given my multiple ways to
incorporate my learning to my future students.
