Discussion and Observations During the experiment, the solution was agitated at 350rpm for two flow rates, 80 mL/min and 100 mL/min . As seen in
Figure 1, the 100mL/min flow rate solution dropped in pH faster than the solution with a 80 mL/min flow rate. This was due to the solution not being
saturated at 80mL/min and able to conduct a chemical reaction. Another important observation was that due to the lack of data, some of the trends

Conclusion
During this laboratory, the properties of silicon rubber and its selectivity were studied using different agitation and flow rates of CO2. Because of
these properties, it is a well known and used material in the industry to imitate different processes and biochemical reactions that occur in the human
body. Moreover, it is an ideal material for these applications as it allows diffusivity of CO2concentration depending on the flow rate or driving force.
The data collected during the experiment allowed an approximation or prediction of the diffusivity trend of both flow rates. It also correlated with the

Independent variables: Was temperature 30 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Celsius, 90 degrees Celsius, and 100 degrees Celsius. We also used a

hoping I can make sense out of group and my feelings. After last session, I felt angry, misunderstood, disconnected, and untrusting of one of the
leaders. After this session I feel the same, but towards both of the leaders because I felt like the other leader picked up where the first left off. I
have never felt so uncomfortable with a facilitator, leader, or therapist in my 40 years of both group and individual therapy. With that said; I was

(also known as direct combination), decomposition, single replacement (also known as single displacement), double replacement (also known as

On the whole, this means that academic writing is generally characterised by a high degree of formality. However, the characteristic of impersonal
voice, for example, is not without contention. Even though tables of comparison like the one above can sometimes serve the purpose of highlighting
differences between writing that is more academically oriented, and less formal writing, which is used in other domains, it can indeed be dangerous to
paint such a polarised picture.
We need to remember, for example, that a more subjective and personal style does occur in some text types in some academic disciplines. Therefore,

Conclusion:
To conclude, the data we have collected from both experiments suggests that Le Chatelier's principles are applicable and correct. When different
substances were added to different solutions, the equilibrium shifted appropriately in order to gain a balance. The shifting of equilibrium resulted in
different color changes in different mixtures. In part 2 of the experiment we the aforementioned changes were more easily spotted. We saw the
relationship between forward and reverse reactions. When NaOH was added to tube #8 we saw that the color changed from orange into yellow, in
order to gain balance but when we added HCl back, the color again changed to orange. Which clearly proved Le Chatelier's

In this experiment, NaOH was the inhibitor used to stop the enzymatic reactions. NaOH is very basic and when added to a solution, will cause a
drastic increase in pH, causing denaturation of the enzyme. The amount of product formed could be calculated by placing the test tube in a
spectrometer after the addition on NaOH. A spectrometer measures the absorbance of a solution, which helps compare how much of a substance is in a
solution.
I hypothesized that the rate of the reaction would increase, producing more product as the amount of ACP in solution was increased because more
enzymes allow for more substrate to be converted to product. The same hypothesis was made that when we increased the substrate, p–nitrophenyl
phosphate, the amount of product produced would increase as well because there would be more substrate that could bind to the enzyme and be
converted to product. For the environmental experiments, both temperature and pH, I predicted that the amount of product formed would increase with
the temperature and pH, but then begin to decline after the enzymes reached optimal conditions. In other words, at the optimal temperature and pH, the

For this assignment, I chose to watch a Ted Talk that focused on the importance of understanding differences. It is entitled Love No Matter What and
is the culmination of years of research done by Andrew Solomon. I chose this Ted Talk because I thought it would be interesting to hear about
different lived experiences that people have endured. One of the huge ideas I have learned throughout this leadership course and all our topics and
conversation is that we all have different lived experiences. It is our lived experiences that make us special and individual. Love No Matter What
focused on this essential idea and how important differences are. The topic of this Ted Talk completely reflects what has been said in our leadership
class as well as what I think a student leader at Western Oregon University should be. Solomon's talk is centered around the relationship of parents
and children and accepting and loving children, but the ideas expressed in his talk can be applied to any human relationship. I believe Western is a
university that deeply prides itself in its student diversity and acceptedness of said diversity. The Western that I know, and love, understands the true
necessity of diversity and wishes to be accepting of diversity in all of its forms. To me, listening to this Ted Talk was very emotional and personal. I

Introduction
The reaction time (RT) of students was measured in the experiment to determine whether light or sound stimulus initiates a quicker response time. The
question of whether or not RT was related to movement time (MT) was also challenged. Each student performed two test in random order; one testing
the reaction time of a red light stimulus, or visual reaction time (VRT); and the other testing the reaction time of a "beeping" sound stimulus, or
auditory reaction time (ART). The student completed the VRT trial by simply receiving the stimulus and pressing a button. The student placing and
holding their hand on a button starts the ART trial. Once the student receives the stimulus (beep) they press the adjacent button as fast as they can. The
ART trial does not only include the data of the RT, but also the data from the MT. Having previous knowledge that light travels faster than sound; one
can predict that VRT is faster than ART. The prediction that MT is independent upon RT can be made with the thought that there are so many
opposing variables that could affect the MT of an individual unrelated RT such as old age

In the experiment, 80 students were randomly separated into groups of 2 to write down the data from the test for the other individual. The VRT was
