This document outlines initial plans for a magazine focused on classic rock music, including early masthead designs, photo shoot ideas, and sketches for the pre-production process. The first proposed cover photo takes inspiration from a Jimi Hendrix close-up and recreates his iconic performance pose with a stage in the background. Accompanying interior photos will feature close-ups and group shots of artists to illustrate the contents and articles. A double-page spread will use a set of studio photographs of bands to help tell the story.

5. Initial Photo Shoot Ideas. I have lots of photo shoot ideas that I will try and include in my magazine design. The first idea is for my front cover. I have taken inspiration from a photograph of Jimi Hendrix that is a close up of him playing the guitar. Combining this with some inspiration taken from footage of the Monterrey Pop festival where he played in 1967, I would create a similar posing but with a stage in the background rather than a blank one. This creates the “iconic” effect I am aiming for and will hopefully lead to an eye catching image + My next ideas are for photographs to accompany my main image and illustrate my contents page. In the contents page the images will be purely practical and to describe what the article on any particular page is about. These will include close ups of featured artists, group photographs of bands and a background photograph of a concert or stage. For my double page spread I intend to use a set of photographs to help illustrate my article. These will be close ups of band members, group photographs and photographs of the band playing all set to a studio background.
