The design uses a 200l/hd/day which is based upon the reduction of NRW- it is expected that this demand falls towards 175l/hd/day dependent upon GWI
introducing demand management
Design Parameters for New WTP Cont.
Pressure at the edge of the service area = 10 to 14m of head (pressure).
Storage has been catered for 24hrs of treated water storage to be provided in
each service area.
Water quality baseline The WHO standard has been established as the
target for the treated water quality - (pH, turbidity, iron content).
Process Guarantee WHO Standards for Potable Water 100% of the time.
Production capacity Able to produce the required design capacity 100% of
the time.
Project Scope- General for new WTPs
Chemical building complete
Complete lime dosing system with necessary accessories
Blending and chemical mixing tank
Circular clarifier
Rapid sand filters
Baffled storage reservoir(s)
Sludge holding ponds or sludge thickeners
On site process piping
Onsite chlorine generator
Emergency generator, electrical supply and systems and control systems as needed to operate the plant
Installation of transmission mains to and from the WTPs
All works as detailed in Employer’s Requirements, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and Drawings; and
as approved by the Employer’s Representative.
Important to Note:
Duration of contract = 39 months
 27 months execution
 12 months defects liability

Scope of Works - Facilities
Responsibilities - General
The Contractor is required to:
mobilize the specified resources required (construction materials facilities, plant, water,
fuel…etc ) to the site and deploy sufficient manpower for works execution.
manage all technical issues in relation with the works.
undertake overall planning and execution of the construction works.
The Employer will have the role of:
overall supervision of the construction works.
overseeing quality of works.
monitoring and controlling work targets/progress as approved on contractor’s program
of works.
approving the completion of scheduled tasks or work packages.
Bidding Instructions
Deadline for Bid submission: July 28, 2015 (time 09:00hrs)
Request for clarification: 2 weeks prior to closing of bid
Bid Validity: 120 days
Bid Security: GY$57,960,000.00 or freely convertible currency acceptable to
the Employer.
Bid Closing: July 28, 2015
Submittal: Three copies of Bid plus (1) soft copy of the bid document (Cd)
