This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. PR5 There are many reasons in why films are remade. The reasons can range from technological, trends, financial factors, genres, stars, distribution and exhibition, social, political and regulatory issues, and synergies between films, vertical and horizontal integration. Judge Dredd was made in 1995; it’s set in the ruins of an old city as crime is on the rise, were the law is enforced by judges. The films main narrative consists of Dredd being framed for something he didn’t do, while he struggles to capture the murderous antagonist which gets away. This film was remade in 2012, with a few changes to the plot, for example in this film there is a new drug called slow mo, which a reality is altering drug which makes a person’s brain feel like the world around them is slowing down. This film was remade for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is because of better technology. As the older version of the film seemed more watered down than the comics and almost cheesy at some points. They wanted to remake it so it had the same features which made the comics so popular, like the excessive gore and action. With new technology and 3d modelling software’s they were able to create all of this in the new film with staggering realism, also add a new effect which gave the film originality, this is the use of slow-motion and long exposure shots. With new and more advanced cameras that weren’t around when the first Dredd came out they were able to create these effects allowing them to use up to 3000 frames per second. Also with all the new CGI software’s the 2012 version of Dredd was able to actually look like it was actually in the future. Another reason for Judge Dredd to be remade was synergy. Before this film was remade a new series of the comics were being realised as well as a blue ray copy of the old version, so by making a new version of judge Dredd people would want to read the comics after watching the new one and maybe even watch the old one, especially if it has been produced in blue ray. This made it possible for even more money to be made from the Dredd franchise, benefiting everyone involved with it. Furthermore the comics were becoming more popular and action films were also starting to trend which is another reason in which Dredd was remade, trends can influence the genres of films which are made significantly, for example if horror films were predicted to be popular for the year then a producer is more likely to make a horror film than any other genre.

REC revolves around a television reporter, Angela Vidal (Manuela Velasco), and her cameraman, Pablo (Pablo Rosso), they are covering the night shift for a local fire station in Barcelona for a new TV series called “While you sleep”. They are excited when a call comes in to the fire department about a woman who is trapped and think that it will be exciting for people to see. Although when they arrive things are not quite what they seem and they soon finding themselves to be trapped inside the building with a deadly virus. This film was made in 2007 and directed by Jaume Balagueró, Paco Plaza, it was produced by Filmax international. The film was very popular and became pretty successful. The main reason it was remade is because they were worried that Americans wouldn’t go and see it if it had subtitles but thought it would be better if it was actually English. So Sony told ScreenGen (ScreenGen are a subsidiary of Sony who specialise in horror) to buy the rights for REC from Filmax. With which they created Quarantine in 2008, a remade version of REC. Another reason for the film being made was a financial factor, through vertical integration, the fact that ScreenGen could produce and Sony distributed it worldwide made quarantine more lucrative, also being able to distribute the DVD version of REC would initially double the money they would make. The remake and REC also influenced more films like Cloverfield and Paranormal activity, which were found footage based films.
