1. The study aims to understand the real experiences of adolescent gays in Moncada, Tarlac by identifying the challenges they face from society, how they cope with these challenges, and possible solutions to discrimination. 2. The researchers will conduct qualitative interviews with 10 conveniently selected adolescent gays ages 10-19 using the Proeschold-Bell method to understand how discrimination affects their lives and how they face challenges. 3. Phenomenological analysis will be used to analyze the interview data and discuss the direct perceptions and experiences of the researched phenomenon as reported by the respondents.

2. Background of the Study
This study conducted by the researchers for the following
reasons:
• To seek the real experiences of adolescent gays around
Moncada, Tarlac;
• To identify the challenges they are facing towards the society;
• To witness how they cope these challenges;
• To look up for the possible solutions against discriminations;
• To help them to become a better individual

4. RELATED STUDIES
Many homosexuals were criticized and discriminates them by
calling names, making fun of their sexual identities and worst,
hurting them, which results to hide themselves from the public
(Garcia, 2010).

5. METHODOLOGY
The researchers will employ the qualitative research
method in describing the challenges and coping mechanisms of
adolescent gays. Additionally, the researchers will employ the
phenomenological research method. The phenomenological
research is defined as an approach to qualitative research that
focuses on the commonality of a lived experience within a
particular group.

6. METHODOLOGY
The researchers shall use a non-probability sampling
method to determine the respondents who will participate in the
study. The type of non-probability sampling method that will be
utilized for this study is convenience sampling. The researchers
shall first determine the number of gays ages 10 to 19 in the
locale who experiencing discriminations and prejudices using the
initial survey form. From the total number of working students,
ten (10) adolescent gays will be conveniently selected as
participant of the study.

7. METHODOLOGY
The researchers will secure permission from the school
head of San Julian – Sta. Maria High School for the conduct of the
study. The researchers will also seek permission from the
respondents as well to their parents before the actual data
gathering. Once permissions were acquired, the researchers will
personally conduct the interview using the Proeschold-Bell
method (2018). The researchers may ask additional questions
that are not listed in the interview guide as long as the purpose
of the question is to clarify some point. The researchers will also
use a voice recorder to compile the interview for a better
assessment.

8. METHODOLOGY
The data gathered on the interview shall be analyzed
using the phenomenological data analysis. This procedure is
necessary since the study conducted is phenomenological in
nature thus discussions and reflections of direct sense
perception and experiences of the researched phenomenon will
be derived.
