HISTORY
 MECC is an approved EPC ( Engineering Procurement
and Construction) Contracts for the Design,
Procurement of Materials and Construction of
Mechanical Engineering Projects like Pipelines, Plant
Installations and associated instrumentation.
 It started in the year 1998.
 Throughout the years MECC has built a team which has
handled many Mechanical Engineering Projects for the
Oil and Gas Companies and completed all the project
within the planned budget and time schedule.
 MECC is further diversified into two:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
 The objective of the Project Management department is
to plan and mobilize projects and ensure execution as
per plans. Project is generally issued to an eligible
contractor through a process called Bidding.
 Tender is a process whereby government invite bids for
large projects that must be submitted within a finite
deadline.
 The Government chooses an eligible contractor in order
to take up the project. Eligible Contractor is chosen
through evaluation. Evaluation is based on the price
offered to complete the project by the Contractor and
the capability of the Contractor.
 Once the eligible contractor is chosen, a kick off meeting
is held where the contractor signs the contract and the
parties discuss the factors of the contract. Important
details are mentioned in the contract such as the date of
commencement and completion.
 The project manager is allotted and his responsibilities
are mentioned in the contract.
 Initially Memorandum of Agreement is prepared by the
parties for mutual understanding where the contractor is
willing and able to perform the works desired by the
Company.
 In case of ambiguity or conflict between any of these
documents priority shall be given to the documents in
the order given. The Contractor agrees to execute and
complete the works in conformity with the Contract.
 The Company or the Government agrees to pay the
Contractor in consideration of the satisfactory execution
and completion of the works, in accordance with terms
of the Contract the sum not exceeding the amount
subject to actual works carried out and such variation
thereof as shall become payable under the terms and
conditions of the Contract.
HR DEPARTMENT
 Human Resource Department of MECC is
committed to serve the Company and assist the
employees by way of creating, interpreting and
implementing the human resource policies within
the limits of Kuwait Labour Law and providing
necessary information on human resources
concerns as and when required.
 The HR Policy Manual is not an all-inclusive
manual and its contents are to be used as
guidelines. It may be changed at any intervals as
per changes in company policies or Kuwait
Municipality, Commercial or Labour Law.
HR Department deals with management of people
within the Company there are numerous
responsibilities that come with this Department. The
major roles and functions of this Department
include but not limited to the following:
 Maintenance of personnel records
 Employment and recruitment
 Hiring and promotions
 Job Classification and grading
 Review of Performance Evaluation
 Rewards and incentives management
 Workers' compensation
 Life, Health & Workmen compensation Insurance
PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT
 The objective is to define a system such that items
are procured on time, as per requirements and
store them appropriately.
 It related to purchase of Spare parts, Consumables
and other raw material related to Projects &
Equipment Leasing functions.
 The overall responsibility lies with the Commercial
Manager.
PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
The duct factory started in the year 2006 with the idea of
producing duct for centralized air conditioners. This area of
production is very competitive and the competitors are
Badr-Mulla, Yousuf Al Ghanim & Kharafi. The production
unit further expanded and started producing water coolers
and refrigerators in the year 2013. The production
department later came up with the idea of producing
kitchen appliances that are made of stainless steel for fast
food restaurants such as Burger King, Apple Bee's, Taco
Bell, Pizza Hut in Kuwait. Laying duct for government
hospitals was one of the major projects. The factory
started off with 18 staffs working which has now increased
to 150 staffs.

 Invoices are provided as soon as every single payment
is done.

 Trustworthy & honest while weighing the metal during
the production of duct.
 The laborers work under three shifts, every shift
comprising of 8 hours.
 The product is checked four times before being
distributed (ISO approval).
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
The finance department is diversified into the following:
 Bank reconciliation
 Salary Accounts
 Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounts
 Receivable Control
 Payable Control
The accompanying financial statements of the company
have been prepared in accordance with the International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as issued by the
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTH
 Unique Business Discipline.
 A strong force of manpower, vehicles, equipments & suitable to mobilize in a short notice.
 It has an internal process system in respect with finance, commercial & HR Department.
Effective communication system. The company has provided email address to key
employees.
WEAKNESS
 Lack of key personnel to handle certain duties.
 Unable to complete work due to pressure.
OPPORTUNITIES
 Due to financial shortfall, number of contracting companies at the same level does not
actively participate in tenders.
THREATS
 Competitive market where competitors quote low prices.
 Kuwait faces severe weather condition like very hot summer, sand storms & extremely
cold weather that affect working atmosphere.

  • 6. PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT  The objective of the Project Management department is to plan and mobilize projects and ensure execution as per plans. Project is generally issued to an eligible contractor through a process called Bidding.  Tender is a process whereby government invite bids for large projects that must be submitted within a finite deadline.  The Government chooses an eligible contractor in order to take up the project. Eligible Contractor is chosen through evaluation. Evaluation is based on the price offered to complete the project by the Contractor and the capability of the Contractor.  Once the eligible contractor is chosen, a kick off meeting is held where the contractor signs the contract and the parties discuss the factors of the contract. Important details are mentioned in the contract such as the date of commencement and completion.
  • 7.  The project manager is allotted and his responsibilities are mentioned in the contract.  Initially Memorandum of Agreement is prepared by the parties for mutual understanding where the contractor is willing and able to perform the works desired by the Company.  In case of ambiguity or conflict between any of these documents priority shall be given to the documents in the order given. The Contractor agrees to execute and complete the works in conformity with the Contract.  The Company or the Government agrees to pay the Contractor in consideration of the satisfactory execution and completion of the works, in accordance with terms of the Contract the sum not exceeding the amount subject to actual works carried out and such variation thereof as shall become payable under the terms and conditions of the Contract.

HR DEPARTMENT  Human Resource Department of MECC is committed to serve the Company and assist the employees by way of creating, interpreting and implementing the human resource policies within the limits of Kuwait Labour Law and providing necessary information on human resources concerns as and when required.  The HR Policy Manual is not an all-inclusive manual and its contents are to be used as guidelines. It may be changed at any intervals as per changes in company policies or Kuwait Municipality, Commercial or Labour Law.
  • 9. HR Department deals with management of people within the Company there are numerous responsibilities that come with this Department. PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT  The objective is to define a system such that items are procured on time, as per requirements and store them appropriately.  It related to purchase of Spare parts, Consumables and other raw material related to Projects & Equipment Leasing functions.  The overall responsibility lies with the Commercial Manager.
  • 11. PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT The duct factory started in the year 2006 with the idea of producing duct for centralized air conditioners. This area of production is very competitive and the competitors are Badr-Mulla, Yousuf Al Ghanim & Kharafi. The production unit further expanded and started producing water coolers and refrigerators in the year 2013. The production department later came up with the idea of producing kitchen appliances that are made of stainless steel for fast food restaurants such as Burger King, Apple Bee's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut in Kuwait. Laying duct for government hospitals was one of the major projects. The factory started off with 18 staffs working which has now increased to 150 staffs.

ADVANTAGES  They aim at giving the best quality product to the client.  The pricing is affordable and not too expensive.  Free delivery offered to customers.  Invoices are provided as soon as every single payment is done.  Credit sales accepted.  Trustworthy & honest while weighing the metal during the production of duct.  The laborers work under three shifts, every shift comprising of 8 hours.  The product is checked four times before being distributed (ISO approval).

FINANCE DEPARTMENT The finance department is diversified into the following:  Bank reconciliation  Salary Accounts  Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounts  Receivable Control  Payable Control The accompanying financial statements of the company have been prepared in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGTH  Unique Business Discipline.  A strong force of manpower, vehicles, equipments & suitable to mobilize in a short notice.  It has an internal process system in respect with finance, commercial & HR Department. OPPORTUNITIES  Due to financial shortfall, number of contracting companies at the same level does not actively participate in tenders. THREATS  Competitive market where competitors quote low prices.  Kuwait faces severe weather condition like very hot summer, sand storms & extremely cold weather that affect working atmosphere.
