The aim of the PPT is to develop an Android application that lets its users to send notifications in case of an emergency or a panic situation. The users can send multiple text messages and emails on the press of a single button. The phone numbers, email ids and the contents of the text and email messages can be set from within the application. The text messages and emails sent, along with the content, also have the last known location of the user. This is very helpful in tracking the whereabouts of the person. The user can also call 911 directly from within the application, if the nature of the situation demands it.

For college going students, employees of a company or for a common man, bus is the most comprehensive and affordable mode of transport. The use of bus for transport reduces private vehicle usage and thus reduces fuel consumption. It also curbs traffic congestion. The user usually wants to know the accurate arrival time of the bus. Long time waiting at the bus stops discourage the use of buses. Also many unpredictable factors delay the schedule of a bus like harsh weather situation, traffic conditions etc. Towards this aim of reducing this problem, we are proposing a project which will assist the bus travellers in predicting bus timings. The system described uses DriverSideApp, ClientSideApp and a server.
In this project, we propose an innovative method for predicting the bus information. No specific device is required for this purpose. Our sole objective is to build a application that will help student to access the current location of the bus. Moving forward our application focus on to providing them more convenience with bus schedules, bus location information so that they may not get delayed. . Further, the recent advent and popularity of Android technology motivates us to create an Android application for the same.
“Bus Tracking Application” is an application for Smart phones that works on Android Operating system. This application uses the GPS function. This application at a specific pickup point will send the current location of the bus to students when they request. This app generate predictions of bus arrivals at stops along the route. This application uses a variety of technologies to track the locations of buses in real time

1.ANDROID
2.INTRODUCTION
Android is a Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.
Initially developed by Android, Inc., which Google backed financially and later bought in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007 along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance: a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. The first Android-powered phone was sold in October 2008.
3.ARCHITECTURE
4.Android consists of a kernel based on Linux kernel version 2.6 and, from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich onwards, version 3.x, with middleware, libraries and APIs written in C, and application software running on an application framework which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony.
Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine with just-in-time compilation to run Dalvik 'dex-code' (Dalvik Executable), which is usually translated from Java bytecode. The main hardware platform for Android is the ARM architecture.
5.APPLICATIONS
Android has a growing selection of third party applications, which can be acquired by users either through an app store such as Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, or by downloading and installing the application's APK file from a third-party site.
The Play Store application allows users to browse, download and update apps published by Google and third-party developers, and is pre-installed on devices that comply with Google's compatibility requirements.
6.APPLICATIONS
The app filters the list of available applications to those that are compatible with the user's device, and developers may restrict their applications to particular carriers or countries for business reasons. Purchases of unwanted applications can be refunded within 15 minutes of the time of download, and some carriers offer direct carrier billing for Google Play application purchases, where the cost of the application is added to the user's monthly bill.
As of September 2012, there were more than 675,000 apps available for Android, and the estimated number of applications downloaded from the Play Store was 25 billion.
7.SECURITY & PRIVACY
Android applications run in a sandbox, an isolated area of the system that does not have access to the rest of the system's resources, unless access permissions are explicitly granted by the user when the application is installed. Before installing an application, the Play Store displays all required permissions: a game may need to enable vibration or save data to an SD card, for example, but should not need to read SMS messages or access the phonebook. After reviewing these permissions, the user can choose to accept or refuse them, installing the application only if they accept.
Android based application for wireless control of wheelchaireSAT Journals
Abstract The wide spread prevailing loss of limbs is day-to-day scenario due to wars, accidents, age and health problems [2]. A wheelchair monitored with the Android mobile application is developed to help the disabled patients by using application to control the movement of wheelchair in different directions. A help SOS section is incorporated in the application so that incase of any emergency help the person can just enter the number starting with the India country code. The main advantage is to design a wheelchair that will be controlled wirelessly and will be very easy to operate it with no physical efforts [1]. This application will be a boon for many patients who are dependent on wheelchair for their mobility. This project will help the disabled to operate the wheelchair on their own. Restaurant Finder Android Application project PresentationAbhinav Jain
The Prime objective of “Restaurant Finder Application” is to create a full fledged Android application which could locate a list of restaurants based on the location & type of the cuisine entered by the user. The user not only finds all the restaurant in the city, but also he can make a choice of the best restaurant based on the rating. The user can also map the location of the restaurant on Google Maps rendered to the user on the phone & find the path from his current location or from any other location to the restaurant. The user has the facility to make a call directly to the restaurant and can also obtain the detailed review provided by the others users. They can also send their own review to their friends via E-mail.

The chemicals industry (industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, biocides, food and feed additives and cosmetics) is one of the largest industrial sectors in the world and one which poses many challenges for government regulators; inefficient regulation would have costly implications for the environment, human health, government budgets and the continued growth of this important global industry. Not only can different regulatory approaches and requirements in each OECD country create significant costs for the chemicals industry and for governments, they can also create barriers to trade.
If national approaches to chemical regulation are harmonised, industry is not faced with a plethora of conflicting or duplicative requirements, governments are provided with a common basis for working with each other, and non-tariff barriers to trade are reduced. The principal tools for harmonisation are a set of OECD Council Decisions which make up the OECD Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD) system, including its OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals and OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

2. Objective
SOS (which stands for Save Our Souls
or Save Our Ships) has primarily been
used as an International Morse code
distress signal. It is commonly used in
navigation by Sailors when under
attack by Pirates or when they need
help of some kind. But the signal is not
limited to navigation and is used in a
more general sense whenever a
notification has to be sent about a
situation that requires immediate
attention.
