• One of the country’s most famous photographer.
• He had his studio called Adphoto - one of the first
studios in the country to use digital photography
• Their studio has handled advertising campaigns for
cars, food and the like.
• He was also a licensed pilot for light planes which was
advantageous since he also specialized in aerial
photography.

• He founded the foundation called Photography with a Difference
(PWD) that gives free workshops to children with special needs.
• In 2012, he asked volunteer photographers to collaborate with the
community in the rice terraces to rebuild the part of the rice etrraces
that had been damaged during the typhoon.
• While the photographers and the town’ s people worked hand in hand,
the photographers also took turns taking photographs of the condition
of the terraces that were later on uploaded to their social accounts.
This raised awareness and helped generate funds and volunteers for
the rehabilitation of the rice terraces .
• John K. Chua passed away in January of 2018.

abroad for his 2005 independent film, “ Masahista”

Festival in 2009 for his film “Kinatay”.

continually recognized, like Thy Womb in which he won Best
Director in the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards in 2012.
• In 2014, he was knighted by the French government for his
talent and hid upliftment of the quality of Philippine
cinema.
• His latest recognition was in 2019 when his film Mindanao
won the Henry Barakat Award for Best Artistic Contribution
in the 2019 Cairo International Film Festival.

photography and continuous playing would make the drawings appear

-are graphic designers who are tasked to organize the different
