5. SERVO VOLTAGE STABILIZER
• A servo voltage stabilizer is a device that can regulate the voltage
output of an electric power source and prevent damage to electrical
appliances due to voltage fluctuations.
• The main purpose of the stabilizers is to provide constant voltage to
load or appliances.
• The Parts used in stabilizer includes Buck boost transformer, Servo
motor, Controller, Capacitor, Resistor, Control wire, Power wire,
Variac, Display, LED.
• There are two types of servo stabilizers:-
1) Air cooled
2) Oil cooled

7. DIMMER/VARIAC
• A dimmer variac is a type of autotransformer that can
vary the output voltage by changing the position of a
movable tap on a single winding.
• A dimmer variac can be used to control the brightness
of lights, the speed of motors, or the voltage of
electrical devices.
• A dimmer variac has some advantages over a normal
transformer, such as lower cost, higher efficiency, and
better voltage regulation1. However, it also has some
disadvantages, such as lack of electrical isolation,
higher short-circuit current, and lower power rating.

8. BUCK/BOOST TRANSFORMER
• A buck boost transformer is a type of
transformer that can adjust the voltage
applied to alternating current equipment. It
can either increase (boost) or decrease (buck)
the voltage by a small amount, usually no
more than 20 percent.
• A buck boost transformer is different from a
standard transformer, which changes the
voltage by a large amount. A buck boost
transformer is also different from a buck
boost converter, which is a type of DC-to-DC
converter that changes the voltage polarity as
well as the magnitude.

9. SERVO MOTOR
• Servo Motor is used to rotate the arm mounted on the dimmer
in either clockwise or anticlockwise as per input voltage
condition.
• The motor driver circuit controls servo motor rotation with two
switches.
• The micro switch stop servo motor rotation at the end of
dimmer.

10. CONTROL PCB AND MOTOR
DRIVER
• It is electronic circuit which gives command to servo motor to
regulate output voltage at set level.
• This circuit turns ON the contactor to deliver output voltage to load
and turns OFF the contactor when input/output voltage is out of
specified limit or output is overloaded.
• The electronic circuit may be made of microprocessor or operational
amplifier.

11. CONTACTOR
• Contactor is generally used to deliver output voltage to load and cut output
voltage when input/output is out of specified limit or output is overloaded.
• It is controlled by electronic circuit.

16. INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE UPS
• Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) is used as a immediate
backup source when the main power source is failed.
• In Online UPS the system always remains on battery, whether the
main power is present or not
• When mains AC is present, it provides power to DC supply of
inverter section as well as charges the battery simultaneously.
• When mains is not present, it will run the connected load till the
battery has a recommended dischargeable level.

18. CONCLUSION
• I Understood the development, assembling, and testing of Voltage
Stabilizer and Online UPS utilized by the industries. Learned practical
applications of theory subjects in a broader perspective and also got
familiar with the Industrial work environment.
• Developed technical skills and further enhanced my Management Skills
with brainstorming ideas for future scope of various verticals of products.
• In brief, this practice made a good contribution to my knowledge about
different areas. Hence, I believe that my internship was effective for me.
• I would like to thank my respected mentors and VGEC for providing me
this opportunity.
