2. Definition of Hazing Hazing is commonly defined as: Various rituals and other activities involving harassment, abuse, violence, or humiliation used as a way of initiating (or isolating) a person into a group (or out of a group).

15. What Not To Do When Discovering Hazing Has Occurred If hazing has occurred, do not pretend you can fix it right their on the spot. If walking in on a hazing incident, than you can to a degree but in most cases, you as the coach will not be their. If catching hazing with your own eyes, take the students who where hazing directly to the principles office and notify him what you witnessed. Do not punish students if you have been notified hazing has occurred with out seeing it with your own eyes. Simply recollect the account from a student and notify the School Board.

16. Proper Method Of Notifying Parents and The School Board That Hazing Has Occurred Every school is slightly different so when hazing has occurred, look for advice from the School Board and Principle. Let them instruct you on what they want done when it comes to notifying parents. If it was a violent and serious incident, let the principle notify the parents with you being present as a witness.
