3. How to apply
• Determine which benefit is best for you: Use the GI Bill® Road Map for Success or call the
VA at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551).
• Apply for your Veterans Education Benefits through the VA by using the Veterans Online
Application.
• Submit a copy of DD-214 (Member Copy 4), or if drilling with the Reserve or Guard,
submit a copy of Notice of Basic Eligibility (Form: DD-2384) from Reserve or Guard Unit
Officer.
• Submit a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility letter, copy of your current Concise Class
Schedule and a completed SUNY Broome Veterans Educational Benefits Request Form
(pdf) to the Veterans & Military Affairs Office located in the Student Services Building,
Room 102.
