Arctic Monkeys – Favourite Worst
Nightmare

Four different album posters promoting
‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’
Links in with album name as the top right
poster shows a woman’s body with a lions
head.
All different posters but all have the same
theme of cartoon drawings.
Writing of when the album is being released
is only in small writing at the bottom of the
page – almost shows arrogance as emphasis is
on the band – could show people already
know when the release date is.
As the band aren’t on the poster, it could
show they are more interested in their music
rather than their image
Florence + the Machine - Lungs

Main attraction on the poster is the lead singer –
Florence Welch – shows they want to sell her look
as well as her as the singer as the other band
members aren’t on the poster.
The background scenery of flowers fits in with her
music videos and overall style. Natural scenery fits
in with their vibe, as they she’s known for her
voice – no auto tune
Close link between the album name and the
visuals on the poster
Same as the Arctic Monkeys poster, the release
date is in small writing
The theme of the poster is quite dated due to the
font and how the picture looks quite
pixelated, almost drawn.
Ed Sheeran - +

Simple poster and album design – fits in with Ed
Sheeran as he usually sings on stage with just a
guitar. Shows he’s interested in making music rather
than focusing on his image.
The fact that the background is orange could be a
joke or seen as iconic as he’s ginger. The fact being
ginger is seen as unique could relate to his indie
music
At the bottom of the poster it names two of his
most famous songs – this could be as he’s a fairly
new artist people may recognise his songs but not
his name
The ‘plus’ sign used relates to the hospital sign, that
relates to his music as he sings about broken hearts
and someone losing a baby.
The release date is written in black compared to the
other writing is written in white,
which makes it stand out and
shows that it is an important bit
of information.
