Hurricane How does where you live influence your quality of life

                                                      disasters?
There is always a difference between someone
living in a place where natural disasters occur
and someone living somewhere they do occur. If
you live in a place where there are a lot of
disasters, then the quality of your life isn’t
as great as the other person because you have
faced a lot of damages, and you need to spend a
                                                     lot of money on recovering.
For example: The map on the right dhows the
regions where Hurricanes mostly occur, if you
live in those regions then you are unsafe,
                                                     however other people are safe.
                                                                                                                                    Where hurricanes occur
Factors that cause this is occur: damage caused:
• Warm sea surface temperatures- This serves as the fuel source for hurricanes. • Casualties
The sea surfaces or ocean temperature needs to be at least 27 degrees Celsius
in order to develop a tropical storm, or a hurricane. • People lose homes

• Light winds aloft- Hurricanes and tropical storms travel east to west. They • Economy of nation decreases

• Rotation, or spin- In order to create a hurricane, there must be some sort of
rotation in the wind that is coming together. Without the rotation the wave is • Price of resources increases.

How people respond and recover: Adapting to the hazard-prone environment:
