The application of abstract results on contraction and extension in the Hilbert space through the concept of spectra in this paper, aims at an analytical survey of some deformation problems in elasticity theory. Results used in achieving this target were fully outlined in sections one and two while the target was realized in the last section.

This resources is a part of the 2009/2010 Engineering (foundation degree, BEng and HN) courses from University of Wales Newport (course codes H101, H691, H620, HH37 and 001H). My introduction to electron correlation is based on multideterminant methods. I introduce the electron-electron cusp condition, configuration interaction, complete active space self consistent field (CASSCF), and just a little information about perturbation theories. These slides were part of a workshop I organized in 2014 at the University of Pittsburgh and for a guest lecture in a Chemical Engineering course at Pitt.

Part 2 of a tutorial given in the Brazilian Physical Society meeting, ENFMC. Abstract: Density-functional theory (DFT) was developed 50 years ago, connecting fundamental quantum methods from early days of quantum mechanics to our days of computer-powered science. Today DFT is the most widely used method in electronic structure calculations. It helps moving forward materials sciences from a single atom to nanoclusters and biomolecules, connecting solid-state, quantum chemistry, atomic and molecular physics, biophysics and beyond. In this tutorial, I will try to clarify this pathway under a historical view, presenting the DFT pillars and its building blocks, namely, the Hohenberg-Kohn theorem, the Kohn-Sham scheme, the local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradient approximation (GGA). I would like to open the black box misconception of the method, and present a more pedagogical and solid perspective on DFT.

Bayesian Inference and Uncertainty Quantification for Inverse ProblemsMatt Moores
So-called “inverse” problems arise when the parameters of a physical system cannot be directly observed. The mapping between these latent parameters and the space of noisy observations is represented as a mathematical model, often involving a system of differential equations. We seek to infer the parameter values that best fit our observed data. However, it is also vital to obtain accurate quantification of the uncertainty involved with these parameters, particularly when the output of the model will be used for forecasting. Bayesian inference provides well-calibrated uncertainty estimates, represented by the posterior distribution over the parameters. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms for sampling from the posterior distribution and describe how they can be combined with numerical solvers for the forward model. We apply these methods to two examples of ODE models: growth curves in ecology, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in chemistry. This is joint work with Matthew Berry, Mark Nelson, Brian Monaghan and Raymond Longbottom.

This paper gives very significant analytical and numerical results to the magnetohydrodynamic flow version of
the classical Rayleigh problem including Hall Effect in a porous plate. An exact solution of the MHD flow of
incompressible, electrically conducting, viscous fluid past an uniformly accelerated and insulated infinite porous
plate has been presented. Numerical values for the effects of the Hall parameter N, the Hartmann number M and
the Porosity parameter P0 on the velocity components u and v are tabulated and their profiles are shown
graphically. The numerical results show that the velocity component u and v increases with the increase of N,
decreases with the increase of P0 and u decreases and v increases with the increase of M.
On Approach to Increase Integration Rate of Elements of an Operational Amplif...BRNSS Publication Hub
In this paper, we introduce an approach to optimize manufacturing of an operational amplifier circuit based on field-effect transistors. Main aims of the optimization are (i) decreasing dimensions of elements of the considered operational amplifier and (ii) increasing of performance and reliability of the considered field-effect transistors. Dimensions of considered field-effect transistors will be decreased due to manufacture of these transistors framework heterostructure with specific structure, doping of required areas of the heterostructure by diffusion or ion implantation, and optimization of annealing of dopant and/or radiation defects. Performance and reliability of the above field-effect transistors could be increased by optimization of annealing of dopant and/or radiation defects and using inhomogeneity of properties of heterostructure. Choosing of inhomogeneity of properties of heterostructure leads to increasing of compactness of distribution of concentration of dopant. At the same time, one can obtain increasing of homogeneity of the above concentration. In this paper, we also introduce an analytical approach for prognosis of technological process of manufacturing of the considered operational amplifier. The approach gives a possibility to take into account variation of parameters of processes in space and at the same time in space. At the same time, one can take into account nonlinearity of the considered processes.

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
