Gafanha da Nazaré is a town in Portugal known for its fishing and cod drying industries. It was given city status in 2001 and has a population of around 14,756. Key attractions include the lighthouse built between 1885-1893, the Oudinot Garden Maritime Museum which illustrates the town's dependence on the sea, and the St. André Ship Museum housed in an old fishing boat displaying ancient cod fishing techniques.
