2. POSITIVE AND PROUD
1.EXT. PARK. DAY.
Alice’s boyfriend Aaron is from the wrong side of the tracks
It was Alice’s first time Aaron knows it
Alice suggests they get sti tested
Alice and her boyfriend Aaron are sat on a park bench. Aaron
has his arm around her and her head is nestled into her
shoulder. They appear happy together and content.
Alice turns to him and holds his hand.
ALICE
(Questioning) Babe?
AARON
(Curious) Yeah?
ALICE
(Hesitant)I’ve been
thinking...
AARON
(Curious)Yeah?
ALICE
(Delaying) Well...
AARON
(puzzled)Is something wrong? )
ALICE
(Hesitant) No. Nothing’s
wrong. I’m really happy with
you. And I trust you so much.
And i don’t want you to take
this the wrong way, but I’ve
been thinking a lot lately.
AARON
Oh.
ALICE
Um. I think we need to get tested.

AARON
What? Why?
ALICE
I just think it would be good for
us. It’s the grown up thing to do
you know? I was speaking to muti
and he said him and his girlfriend
went and got tests done.
AARON
Fuck Muti and his girlfriend.
That’s bullshit. I don’t see why,
were both clean.
ALICE
Yeah i know. We probably are, but
there’s no harm in trying. Right?
So there’s nothing to be scared of.
I want you to do this with me.
AARON
This is going to be a waste of
time. But if you want to do it then
fine. If you think we should do it
then we’ll do it.
ALICE
So you’ll do it? We can go
together! To the clinic... We can
go next weekend.
AARON
Right, yeah sure.
ALICE
I love you.
She leans back into his shoulder. She is smiling and glad
that he has agreed.
AARON
I love you too babe.
Aaron puts his arm back around Alice. He has furrowed
eyebrows and appears slightly anxious. Alice cannot see this
expression.

2. INT. CLINIC. DAY. ALICE FINDS OUT SHE HAS AIDS
Alice is sat outside the room door of a clinic, she is
waiting to be called in to be told her results. She is very
anxious and stressed out.
Alice’s name is called, and she goes in.
The door closes behind her and the screen fades to black.
3.INT. ALICE’S HOUSE. DAY. ALICE GOES HOME TO TELL AARON
Alice is now sat in her bedroom, she stares out the window,
and the sound of her and Aaron arguing after she tells him
she has HIV is playing as a voice over.
AARON
What are you panicking about? Can
you please just tell me?
ALICE
Aaron, I’m positive.
AARON
What?!
ALICE
I went to the clinic today. I got
my results...
AARON
NO! I cant believe this.
ALICE
Aaron help me! They said I have
HIV. What am i gonna’ do!?
AARON
You dirty little slut.
ALICE
What!? Aaron no please listen to me
you have to help me
AARON
You AIDS INFESTED WHORE. Stay away
from me.
ALICE
Don’t say that Aaron, you know it’s
not like that.

AARON
Yes it does. And I’m very lucky. I
got my results yesterday and they
said I tested negative. You could
have ruined my life.
ALICE
This doesn’t make any sense.
AARON
You bitch. I don’t deserve this.
I’m going to tell everyone what you
have, so they don’t risk catching
it from you. I’m going to ruin your
life like you ruined mine. Don’t
come near me ever again.
4. EXT. DAY. ALICE’S LONELY JOURNEY
As the argument gets more intense she goes into her freezer
in the kitchen and pulls out a bottle of her mother’s vodka.
She takes it. She grabs her coat, and then we see her in the
park drinking it. There is then a montage of her walking and
sitting in the park drinking the bottle of vodka. The
arguement stops, and the last shot of this scene is her
sitting on the bench that her and Aaron sat on and Muti
rings her. After he says he is coming to get her, the screen
will fade to black.
5. INT. DAY. ALICE WAKES UP HUNGOVER
Alice is in bed, looks a mess. Room is messy, adding extra
emphasis on her having a bad time. She is hungover. She
see’s the empty bottle of vodka on the floor, she picks it
up and heaves at the smell and look of it.
She checks her phone and reads a text that she has recieved.
’Im coming over’- Muti.
Alice looks distressed as she remembers the night before.
She puts on a hoodie and ties her hair up, sat at the end of
her bed looking stressed.
6. INT. DAY. MUTI ARRIVES
Muti knocks on the door.
She walks towards her front door, she braises herself as she
looks through the peekhole in the door.
She sighs in a realease at seeing her best friend Muti.

7. INT. DAY. ALICE LETS MUTI INSIDE
What happened last night? Im positive. Unsure what to do.
READ THE WALL. Aaron says im horribe, muti encourages her,
you have me!
ALICE
MUTI!
MUTI
Alice! Hello!
She leaps up at him to hug him. They have a long, strong
hug.
ALICE
(She cuts him off) Muti. Thank
God your here. Muti I don’t
know what to do?
MUTI
Alice what happened last night?
I’ve never seen you in such a
state.
ALICE
Muti you’ll have to sit down for
this.
MUTI
Ok.
The two walk back into Alice’s bedroom. Muti sits down on
the stool which he pulls out from her dressing table which
is placed next to the wall which has writing all over it of
inspirational quotes and her friend’s heights etc.
MUTI
So what is it?
ALICE
Muti. Me and Aaron had sex.
MUTI
Oh.
ALICE
I was worried so I went to get some
STD tests done, so did Aaron.
MUTI
Ok.

ALICE
Muti I got my results. And I have
HIV, Muti I’m HIV positive!
MUTI
Oh my god.
ALICE
Muti you have to help me. I’m gonna
die.
MUTI
Oh Alice
He gets up to hug her. He puts his arm around her and she
takes his arm off of him.
ALICE
Muti what am I gonna do!?
MUTI
Well what did they say at the
doctors? Your gonna need medication
and... wait, have you told Aaron?
ALICE
I told him and he broke up with me.
On the phone, and he’s gonna tell
everyone Muti, he thinks I’ve
cheated...
MUTI
That’s absolute rubbish he must be
lying he must have given it to you.
I know you Alice, i know your not
like that
ALICE
Oh muti what the fuck am I gonna
do? I’m gonna have to go far away
where no one knows me. And never be
with anyone again. I deserve to be
alone forever.
Muti reaches out and holds her hand. Her head drops onto his
shoulder.
MUTI
Alice calm down and listen to me.
Your stronger than this and you can
get through this. You still have
me.

ALICE
No I can’t, you don’t understand.
I’m gonna die of Aids, alone. I
hate myself.
MUTI
Listen to me Alice. This isn’t the
end of you. Alice look around you.
Alice looks up at him. He turns and points to the writing on
the wall.
MUTI
Alice. Read the writing on the
wall. You wrote it there. Your
advice is better than anyone
else’s.
Alice gets up and begins to read the writing on the wall.
8. INT. DAY. MONTAGE OF WRITING
9. INT. DAY. ALICE’S BEDROOM. DAY.
Alice is happy. She’s positive and proud.
Alice is in her bedroom looking for her WAD ribbon. She
appears healthy and relaxed. Her room is tidy, clean and
bright. Alice puts on her ribbon and then she straightens it
and smiles. (Looking at her reflection in the mirror and
before she leaves she picks up a pen, looks at her wall and
reads a message left to her by Muti which says ’Stay
positive and Proud’ she smiles to herself then leaves
through her bedroom door.
