The portfolio contains information on several of Fabian Betancour's architecture projects including:
- A writer's retreat in England consisting of a 60 square meter living area within a service area.
- A shirt maker's shop in England that blends tradition and skill into the high street using a concrete facade.
- A villa project in Spain called Camaguan that is designed as connected cabins blending into the terrain.
- A wellbeing center in England situated between wetland and dryland ecosystems.
- A concept for a market and community center in Spain that takes advantage of an existing public space.
A selection of ten projects I've worked on in my career in architecture. The work included is from my time at KeatingKhang Architects and HKS Architects.
Woburn Park is a prestigious private retreat nestled in The Vines. Adding a touch of class to a naturally beautiful area, it’s the perfect place to settle down and live an exclusive lifestyle. Plus it’s one of the few estates that feature generously sized homesites from 700sqm. So, you and your family can enjoy all the luxuries of life.
A short presentation on the architecture of the Masdar Inst. of Tech in Abu Dhabi. The presentation was done as a case study for a college project of desgining a residential block for the students. The focus therefore is on the residetial block of the Inst. here rather than its other numerous feat.s.

Victoria House is a Refuge Centre for survivors of domestic abuse, which combined the co-living typology with user specific functions including therapy rooms and prayer spaces. Inspired by the widespread increase of reported abuse across all demographics, this design centres itself on inclusivity in order to serve all potential refugees from the Nottingham City Centre and Sneinton areas. The floor plan divides residential spaces from those accessible to the public for outreach programmes and therapy. All rooms are orientated towards green spaces through the inclusion of several courtyards. Pairing this together with subtle nods to the areas rich Victorian Architecture connects the displaced user to their new home.
Completed as part of my Undergratuate degree in Architecture at the University of Nottingham, UK (2021).

The idea of Energy Efficient design is
to modulate the conditions such that they
are always within or as close as possible to
comfort zone.Modulations introduced by the
landscape,built form,envelope,materials and
other control measures bring the conditions
within the range throughout twenty four hours
cycle.
This is goal of Energy Efficient Architecture
Buildings, as they are designed and used today, contribute to serious environmental and economical problems because of excessive consumption of energy and other natural resources. The close connection between energy use in buildings and environmental damage arises because energy-intensive and monetarily expensive solutions sought to construct a building and meet its demands for heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting cause severe depletion of invaluable environmental resources
Energy resource efficiency in new constructions
can be effected by adopting an
Integrated Approach To Building Design.

thGAP - BAbyss in Moderno!! Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives ProjectMarc Dusseiller Dusjagr
thGAP - Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives Project, presents an evening of input lectures, discussions and a performative workshop on artistic interventions for future scenarios of human genetic and inheritable modifications.
To begin our lecturers, Marc Dusseiller aka "dusjagr" and Rodrigo Martin Iglesias, will give an overview of their transdisciplinary practices, including the history of hackteria, a global network for sharing knowledge to involve artists in hands-on and Do-It-With-Others (DIWO) working with the lifesciences, and reflections on future scenarios from the 8-bit computer games of the 80ies to current real-world endeavous of genetically modifiying the human species.
We will then follow up with discussions and hands-on experiments on working with embryos, ovums, gametes, genetic materials from code to slime, in a creative and playful workshop setup, where all paticipant can collaborate on artistic interventions into the germline of a post-human future.

3. Camaguan
This Spanish villa blends into
the topography of the
terrain.
The house is designed as set
of cabins connected through
a series of terraces.
The project will be located
in southern Spain, in a sma-
fll town called Algarrobo An-
dalusia. it will be raised and
oriented towards the lands-
cape.
Its position in the plot leaves
a rear space that is used
mainly as a parking area. The
house has been designed as
an open shelter to let natural
ventilation reach habitable
spaces.
Passive ventilation has been
part of the vernacular archi-
tecture of the region a com-
bination of technology and

the design.

ARCHITECTURAL IDEA
A health and Well being
centre
A broad concept that can
lead to a more specific func-
tion for visitors.
The building in the center of
the site is a place where vis-
itors are invited to let their
senses wander over different
experiences.
The project aims at discon-
necting from the concept
of time to be as one with the
surrounding environment, liv-
ing and eternal.
The concept is about taking
a more holistic approach to
health. Committed to ad-
dressing people’s health
problems, rather than just
treating their symptoms, and
about helping patients nav-
igate the range of services
available to them with the
centre, and beyond.

penetration through the vent without reducing the airflow.

Wellbeing centre
The landscape is a patchwork
of different ecosystems which
creates biodiversity and vari-
ety in the landscape by be-
ing close to wetlands and dry
lands.
Seawater will move on to the
dry land/wetland continuum
following the respiration of
the site.
The building in the centre of
the site is a place where vis-
itors are invited to let their
eyes wander over the differ-
ent landscapes the fen pro-
vides. The water level, rising
and falling (winter-summer),
creates a limitless respiration
at the site level.
10. Architectural idea for la Cebada Market and allotments.
The initial concept for the design takes advantage of the existing “Campo
de la Cebada” Madrid, Spain. As a way of speaking out against indifference,
proof that it is possible to shape the city as a social statement.
Form
The gardens – allotments create a green boulevard flanked by to parallel
buildings (In Between) which are the new market and a community centre.

The buildings are arranged with
public spaces orientated to
the park and areas providing a
buffer to the traffic noise along
the South Road boundary
Concept
The concept aims for ease of
access as its form has been
generated by the irregular
site constrained by a major
transport corridor to the east.
The irregular grid generates
a dynamic “tension” with the
regular shaped public spaces
and contributes to the sense of
movement.
Allotments.
Furthermore, Eco-friendly ele-
ments such as Allotment - gar-
dens (private and public), rain-
water catchment facility, as
well as using geothermal and
solar energy will help conserve
energy.
Their design aim is to see the
gardens serving diverse activi-
ties of the city as if a living or-
ganism and weaved into the
surrounding city integrating
movements of with open air
activities in and outside, by
proposing a new shared land-
scape, support existing com-
mercial activities from the re-
developed market.
What identifies the structure is
the relation with the people
and their well being.

Auditorium geometry.
A rectangular plan is the best shape acoustically, because
the sequence of sound reflections from stage to listeners is
close to ideal, and because it is usually the least
expensive to build and the most reliable in practice.

The visual integration with the
adjacent buildings , particu-
larly when viewed from across
Poole’s High street, required
an aesthetic that had to be
primarily centred on the use of
concrete.
Inspired by fabric the facade

It consists of a 60 square meters
area , within a service area that
includes a toilet and kitchen.
For the location of the land on
which the project develops,
was taken into account various
factors, such as: lighting, paths,
cross winds, accesses, these dif-
ferent factors were essential for
its development.
