We learned a lot about using various technologies for our film project. Through filming our preliminary task, we learned how to properly use cameras and tripods. During editing, we used effects in iMovie to improve sound quality and resolve weaknesses from our camera equipment. We also changed to a different camera for the main task because the first camera had poor sound quality. While filming, we noticed unwanted noise from the tripod and worked to reduce it during editing. Overall, iMovie, GarageBand, a flash mic, blogger, and Photoshop were useful tools that we learned to use through experimenting with help from others. We are now more confident using these technologies.

- Hello, we are Popaclicious and, as you can see, this is our logo and the project brief we have chosen to do. Popalicious is directed towards the genre of pop music and so this logo is bright and colourful, which is traditional of music videos.
- After identifying that we are a pop music company, each of us focused on a seperate video and made notes on specific elements shown throughout the video. - This is some of the information we gathered from analysing ‘California gurls’ Noticeably there is high key lighting throughout the video and uses green screen to create most of the scenes. This is due to the fact that most audeinces like the element of escapism, pop videos give.
- A different environment created by using green screen Bright Colours attract audiences and make just like using green screen create a sense of escapism.
- After distributing our questionnaire and gathering our results on the graphs, we researched the usual conventions of pop music videos. These include, Bright colours, High key-lighting to show the traditional atmosphere of pop music, the quick pace of editing to match the beat the upbeat tempo of the song and finally the fact the artist is always present within the majority of the video. This is because females are often viewed as ‘‘eye candy’’ and are usually represented as thin and beautiful.
- Due to unforeseen issues and timing problems, we had to change our song and decided to use the song ‘The flood’ by cheryl Cole. Focusing mainly on the common conventions of pop music videos (as mentioned before) To avoid issues with the weather and filming on location we decided to film in a studio and on green screen. This gives us much more freedom on our production schedule. We are going for a target audience of 14-18 years and targeting both both females and males.
- After deciding on the song we would be using we sat down together to decide ideas we would use for our video. To get the ball rolling, we all brainstormed ideas that came to mind when thinking about ‘floods’ and the images we visualised when we listened to the song. These are the ideas that came to mind.
