Major political parties include PML-N, PPP, PTI, and MQM. Corruption is widespread, with politicians seen as the biggest source of graft. The military has intervened directly in politics through multiple martial laws and indirectly through actions like the NRO. Opposition parties focus more on gaining power than solving public problems. Both civilian and military governments have tried to control media. Unless these systemic issues are addressed, Pakistan's political situation will remain unstable.
