DEFINITION
oint of view is the angle of vision from which a story is told, the
perspective or vantage point from which a writer views reality conveys
action or information.
oint of view is a technique that use by author to find and to tell the
meaning of literary work, to understanding and related with the
reader. (Booth, in Stevick, 1967:89)
POINT OF VIEW AS ELEMENT
OF FICTION
A. The essence of point of view
Point of view in the fiction talks about who tells the story or from
where the events and actions can be seen.
B. The importance of point of view
Selecting the point of view become important because it is not just
related with language style, although the selection of grammatical
form and rhetoric are important and influence each other.
Understanding of the reader in point of view will determine
perception and comprehension, and evaluation toward that novel or
literary work. (in Stevick, 1967:86)
C. Point of view as conspicuousness
Point of view as conspicuousness is the deviation that will give
different impress to the readers.
