The narrator uses the pronouns “I” and “we” to
describe events, thoughts, and feelings. Because
of this, the reader experiences the story only
through that character’s perspective.
First Person POV

when the narrator talks directly to the
reader and makes them the main character.
The narrator uses the pronoun “you.” It feels
like the story is giving you instructions or
placing you right in the adventure.
Third Person POV
the narrator is outside the story and
tells it using the pronouns “he,” “she,”
“they,” or names of the characters.
The narrator is not a character in
the story, but more like an observer.
Third Person Limited Third Person Omniscient
The narrator tells the story
about characters using he,
she, they, but only knows the
thoughts and feelings of one
character.
