A mix of many,
Types of gas,
Air's clear as,
Grandpa's prune juice glass!
You can't see it,
But it's there,
Air's something,
One and all must share!
Rely on air?
I suppose...
You suck air up,
Through your nose!
Breathe it in,
Breathe it out,
We use fresh air,
To talk or shout!
Oxygen and hydrogen,
The blowing breeze,
That cools your skin!
Lets us live,
Lets things burn,
Used by fishes,
Frog and fern...
You can’t see it,
But air's right here!
Makes up our Earth’s

2. What is air?
Air makes up the Earth’s atmosphere, which is a layer of gasses that surrounds the
planet.
Air is something we don’t see, but we can’t live without. All living organisms need air to
survive. It is one of the basic needs for life.
The air around Earth is made up of many different gasses. The types of gas that are most
abundant in Earth’s atmosphere are nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and carbon dioxide.
Matter Poem
I ate solid matter,
It made me feel fatter,
'Cause matter takes space or has mass…
My stomach was hurting,
It filled up with something,
More matter of phase we call gas…
I drank some more matter,
Some type of cake batter,
Thick liquid,
Poured from a cold cup,
My stomach then shifted,
Filled up by this liquid,
My stomach felt fit to blow up!
I lay down in bed,
To rest my poor head,
My body was hurting a lot,
I shouldn’t have eaten so many things,
My stomach was really all shot!
Mom asked the question,
How’s your digestion?
It looks like you swallowed some glass,
“Matter’s the matter,”
Not wanting to chatter,
“My stomach’s filled too full of mass…”

3. Matter:
Although a true definition of matter is always up for debate, the common definition
states that matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.

Plants doin' that,
Plants doin' this,
Plants doing photosynthesis!
Plants are making,
Sweet fresh food,
Use sunlight, water,
C-O-2!
Plants don't eat,
Can't share a meal,
But photosynthesize with zeal!

Took a little look around,

Here's the answer,
Here I sing...
Caterpillar,
From the egg,
Eating leaves,
Gets well-fed...
Caterpillar,
Eats a heap,
Finds a quiet place to sleep...
Larva covered,
Covered soon,
In a really, cool cocoon...
Inside changes,
Did occur,
Metamorphosis?
Yes sir!
And I waited,
Wait and wait,
Turns to something really great...
One day I see,
With my eye,
This beautiful,

Life cycle of a butterfly:
During its lifetime, a butterfly goes through a complete metamorphosis.
It starts as an egg which hatches into the larval form- the caterpillar.
The caterpillar eats and grows until it has enough energy to move into its pupal stage- making a chrysalis.
Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar goes through its metamorphosis and eventually emerges as a butterfly.
The butterfly mates and lays new eggs to start the life cycle over again.
