The Importance of Requirements Determination
Synopsis:
Understanding client requirements is a crucial part of any inception phase of a project. Successfully
understanding your client’s requirements will help you build a long term relationship with them by
delivering projects meeting their expectations.
The speaker will be sharing some practices used to determine requirements formally with his clients to
ensure projects are delivered according to expectations.
Some key topics that will be shared are as below :

· Project deliverable measurements based on agreed requirements
· Examples of requirements and traceability matrix used in projects
Siew Peng Soon, PMP
Project Consultant - Dell
Peng Soon has over 15 years’ experience working in various roles in the IT field.
Peng Soon is presently a Project Consultant with Dell focusing on project delivery
quality. Prior to joining Dell, he has been working for HP/EDS and Shell IT in
various capacities from infrastructure administration, project management to people management.
In his previous role as a Solution and Technology Lead, he was responsible for reviewing and
performing due diligence on all ITO deals with TCV >USD 10 million planned to be managed from
Malaysia and submitting a deal review recommendation to Senior Management on the viability for
these deals. He has also lead multiple technical projects and pursuits with TCV value ranging from
USD 5 million to USD 30 million.
Peng Soon can often times be found chilling out with friends at the sole Pub in Cyberjaya after a
hard day’s work of pouring through endless lines of spreadsheet data….
