Key features:
Community Exchange
Crowdsourcing
Volunteering
The Community Exchange enables individuals, groups and
organisations to trade time and materials for community credits. This
customisable feature enables person-to-person, person-to-organisation and
organisation-to-organisation exchanges.
Users have the option to exchange or donate the credits they earn from giving
time, money or materials to their community.
Site administrators, through ‘community pots,’ can transfer unwanted credits
to support vulnerable users of the community who don’t have the means to
earn credits themselves. This feature helps to pool assets and resources from
all sectors of the community and support home grown initiatives.
When it comes to supporting good causes, crowdsourcing is an inexpensive
and immediate way to enlist the help of the whole community.
Individuals, groups and organisations can share ideas, volunteer, donate
money, pledge materials, canvas opinions and organise events. Requests can
be made in public or privately within groups. Users can connect with other
collaborators; where they can message each other directly, invite them to join
groups and take part in events and polls.
Projects can be shared via social media and embedded into third party
websites. Host organisations can set their own commissioning fee – the only
third-party charge for crowdfunding is Stripe’s payment processing fee (1.2% +
20p). This is community crowdsourcing made simple.
It’s not always easy to volunteer – sometimes supply and demand can’t find
each other. Within your community, individuals can badge themselves as one-
off or regular volunteers whilst groups and organisations can promote their
own volunteering opportunities.
Volunteering requests can be set up with or without targets, with or without
deadlines*. Users can add the skills they are looking for when creating their
project and conversely search for opportunities requiring their skills. Users can
also filter opportunities by location, availability and interests.
Users can message, manage and thank their volunteers directly or as a
group. Indeed, volunteers can set up as a group and access a range of project
management tools. Site administrators can collect demographic data of all
volunteers and download live volunteering figures*.
* Available Q4 2017.
Group Working
Peer-to-peer networking
Customise your own platform
Taking charge of your own economic and community destiny requires
collaboration and the sharing of tasks.
The Discussion Room enables small teams to collaborate. Here the team
can chat via live video conferencing (via Appear. In) and share documents
(via Google Drive) in a private space. Group leaders can assign tasks to group
members, send messages and manage all activities via their user dashboard.
Groups can work privately all of the time or make their crowdsourcing
activities public. Groups can be made up of individuals and organisations.
Every community has resources, skills, experiences and strengths that can be
utilised further if inspired or incentivised to do so.
Made Open makes it easy for individuals and organisations to sign up
and share whatever ideas or skills they have to offer. Users can make
connections, form groups and engage in discussions.
Users can find each other by location, skills, interests or volunteer status.
They can support each other by pledging their support to projects within the
activities stream or by donating their community credits to other users. Site
administrators can manage and moderate all interactions to ensure everyone
is being respectful to each other. The Made Open platform is a community
network that connects community builders, organisers and leaders with
people and companies interested in their cause.
* Available Q4 2017.
Made Open can be customised to suit any community of place or purpose.
Once we have set up your bespoke community platform you will have control
over the look and feel of your site.
Within a few clicks, you will be able to set a colour scheme, add your
logo, customise the homepage and other content. You can enable social
sharing, set up Stripe to allow secure payment processing and determine
the commissioning fee you’d like to receive from crowdfunding (otherwise it
defaults to 0%).
Behind the scenes, you can manage and moderate all features including
approving projects, verifying users, blocking content and generating reports on
volunteers and timebankers*. If there’s anything that Made Open can’t do, we’ll
make new developments at cost so long as it benefits all of our clients, who
we’ll connect you with via our partner network.

Volunteer Bank:
Campaigns:
Whereas volunteers might typically respond to a specific volunteering
opportunity, the Volunteer Bank will enable a user to volunteer their skills and
experience to the community in a way that is convenient to them.
This is volunteering to suit the time, location and availability of each
individual. Voluntary organisations will be able to identify volunteers who have
suitable skills and availability and make a request to a specific volunteer.
Any organisation will be able to integrate their Employer Sponsored
Volunteering schemes into the Volunteer Bank; and monitor the value and
contribution of their employees to the community. If enabled, all volunteers
will earn credits, which they can trade or donate to others within the
Community Exchange.
To make meaningful and sustainable progress on social issues, organisations
must stop acting in silos. The Campaigns feature will help communities and
organisations to coordinate their efforts and work together around a common
agenda; for example, tackling obesity, reducing homelessness, ageing well.
Site administrators will be able to create and manage campaigns behind the
scenes. Individuals, groups and organisations will then link their projects and
initiatives to these campaigns, enabling the collective impact of individual
initiatives to be visualised.
Users will be able to raise awareness of micro-volunteering opportunities, rally
people and employees around hyperlocal campaigns, sponsor campaigns,
and view statistics across all activities and impacts. This feature will empower
and mobilise people around community or organisational priorities.

  • 2. Key features: Community Exchange Crowdsourcing Volunteering The Community Exchange enables individuals, groups and organisations to trade time and materials for community credits. This customisable feature enables person-to-person, person-to-organisation and organisation-to-organisation exchanges. Users have the option to exchange or donate the credits they earn from giving time, money or materials to their community. Site administrators, through ‘community pots,’ can transfer unwanted credits to support vulnerable users of the community who don’t have the means to earn credits themselves. This feature helps to pool assets and resources from all sectors of the community and support home grown initiatives. When it comes to supporting good causes, crowdsourcing is an inexpensive and immediate way to enlist the help of the whole community. Individuals, groups and organisations can share ideas, volunteer, donate money, pledge materials, canvas opinions and organise events. Requests can be made in public or privately within groups. Users can connect with other collaborators; where they can message each other directly, invite them to join groups and take part in events and polls. Projects can be shared via social media and embedded into third party websites. Host organisations can set their own commissioning fee – the only third-party charge for crowdfunding is Stripe’s payment processing fee (1.2% + 20p). This is community crowdsourcing made simple. It’s not always easy to volunteer – sometimes supply and demand can’t find each other. Within your community, individuals can badge themselves as one- off or regular volunteers whilst groups and organisations can promote their own volunteering opportunities. Volunteering requests can be set up with or without targets, with or without deadlines*. Users can add the skills they are looking for when creating their project and conversely search for opportunities requiring their skills. Users can also filter opportunities by location, availability and interests. Users can message, manage and thank their volunteers directly or as a group. Indeed, volunteers can set up as a group and access a range of project management tools. Site administrators can collect demographic data of all volunteers and download live volunteering figures*. * Available Q4 2017.
  • 3. Group Working Peer-to-peer networking Customise your own platform Taking charge of your own economic and community destiny requires collaboration and the sharing of tasks. The Discussion Room enables small teams to collaborate. Here the team can chat via live video conferencing (via Appear. In) and share documents (via Google Drive) in a private space. Group leaders can assign tasks to group members, send messages and manage all activities via their user dashboard. Groups can work privately all of the time or make their crowdsourcing activities public. Groups can be made up of individuals and organisations. Every community has resources, skills, experiences and strengths that can be utilised further if inspired or incentivised to do so. Made Open makes it easy for individuals and organisations to sign up and share whatever ideas or skills they have to offer. Users can make connections, form groups and engage in discussions. Users can find each other by location, skills, interests or volunteer status. They can support each other by pledging their support to projects within the activities stream or by donating their community credits to other users. Site administrators can manage and moderate all interactions to ensure everyone is being respectful to each other. The Made Open platform is a community network that connects community builders, organisers and leaders with people and companies interested in their cause. * Available Q4 2017. Made Open can be customised to suit any community of place or purpose. Once we have set up your bespoke community platform you will have control over the look and feel of your site. Within a few clicks, you will be able to set a colour scheme, add your logo, customise the homepage and other content. You can enable social sharing, set up Stripe to allow secure payment processing and determine the commissioning fee you’d like to receive from crowdfunding (otherwise it defaults to 0%). Behind the scenes, you can manage and moderate all features including approving projects, verifying users, blocking content and generating reports on volunteers and timebankers*. If there’s anything that Made Open can’t do, we’ll make new developments at cost so long as it benefits all of our clients, who we’ll connect you with via our partner network.
  • 4. Coming soon: Price: Volunteer Bank: Campaigns: Whereas volunteers might typically respond to a specific volunteering opportunity, the Volunteer Bank will enable a user to volunteer their skills and experience to the community in a way that is convenient to them. This is volunteering to suit the time, location and availability of each individual. Voluntary organisations will be able to identify volunteers who have suitable skills and availability and make a request to a specific volunteer. Any organisation will be able to integrate their Employer Sponsored Volunteering schemes into the Volunteer Bank; and monitor the value and contribution of their employees to the community. If enabled, all volunteers will earn credits, which they can trade or donate to others within the Community Exchange. To make meaningful and sustainable progress on social issues, organisations must stop acting in silos. The Campaigns feature will help communities and organisations to coordinate their efforts and work together around a common agenda; for example, tackling obesity, reducing homelessness, ageing well. Site administrators will be able to create and manage campaigns behind the scenes. Individuals, groups and organisations will then link their projects and initiatives to these campaigns, enabling the collective impact of individual initiatives to be visualised. Users will be able to raise awareness of micro-volunteering opportunities, rally people and employees around hyperlocal campaigns, sponsor campaigns, and view statistics across all activities and impacts. This feature will empower and mobilise people around community or organisational priorities.
