Training
• Question: Does the operator have the relevant training?
• Answer: Training required for ALL machinery brought onto site.
• Training records must be checked at site Induction stage.
• Copy of training must be made available and recorded with the individuals induction record.
• No Training = Not permitted to operate
• SOLAS CSCS Training required for specified plant & machinery

Certification
• Are valid inspection certificates for the machinery made available on arrival?
1. Machinery must be in good working order prior to being allowed to be used.
2. Must have CE mark and Safe Work Load (SWL) indicated.
3. Same rules apply to subcontractor and hired in plant and machinery.
4. Machinery must be identified with an MJC issued blue sticker fixed to the
machine to indicate who has possession of the machine & when is the next
inspection due.

*A GA1 form must be completed, signed and dated by a suitably trained competent person/ engineer. The form must accompany the equipment
when it first arrives on site.
**Weekly GA2/ GA3 inspection to be completed by operator/ user. For scaffolding/ mobile tower the inspection must be the erector.
NOTE: A scaffolding / mobile tower must be re-inspected after any modification / weather conditions that may affect its stability.
Fibre Slings and Rachet Straps must be visually checked before use to ensure they are in good order with CE and EN marking on the label.

• Must be inspected and recorded weekly by the owner / operator – a copy of the inspections
must given weekly to MJ Conroy. This is recorded on a GA2 / GA3 Form
• MJ Conroy have their own format for both GA2 & GA3 forms. Other formats are acceptable
