• India has been experiencing rapid economic growth, averaging at 7.9% for
the last six years, making it the world's fastest-developing country.
• With the imminent rise of urbanization, there is a significant demand for
building houses, and the construction industry, which contributes to 12% of
the country's GDP, is growing at a rate of 9% annually.
• To meet the need for housing, at least 30 to 36 thousand units need to be
built per day for the next seven years.
• Housing is a fundamental human need, and as the population continues to
grow, there is a pressing need for a more reliable, faster, and sustainable
method of construction.
• While the aim of constructing buildings in the most economical way
remains the same, the construction industry has developed new
technologies to meet the demands of modern construction.
4. BACKGROUND
• Constructing a building from start to finish can be a challenging and time-consuming
task that requires significant effort and investment.
• However, it ultimately results in a permanent asset.
• Skilled individuals must undertake the systematic process of constructing a residential
building. Therefore, it is crucial to take caution during the construction process.
• Critical factors, such as the purpose of construction, financial proficiency, and demand
for work, should be considered before initiating any building project.
• Once the decision to construct a building is made, the planning phase begins.
• This presentation will discuss the step-by-step process of building construction from
start to finish.

• The Total cost of the project is 23,08,337/-
• The duration of Project is 141 days.
• The Total Built-Up Area for each floor is =167 sqm
• The Total Carpet Area for each floor is = 141 sqm
• Footing, column, beam, slab, lintel, staircase, chajja, and
landing are constructed using M25 grade concrete.
• PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) is done using concrete mixed
in the proportion of 1:2:4.
• RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) work for lintel, staircase,
chajja, and landing is done using M25 grade concrete.

• Walls are built using 1st class brick with cement mortar
mixed in the proportion of 1:5.
• Backfilling is done using moorum.
• A damp proof course of 25mm thickness is provided and laid
using M25 grade cement concrete and bitumen or cement
mixed with a waterproofing compound, and the formwork is
used for the same.
• RMC (Ready-Mix Concrete) is used for huge concreting
works if required.
• On-site arrangements are made for material storage.
