Dear Ms. Braver,
In his most recent address during a joint session of the Congress, President Obama spoke about the
importance of technology in education. He stressed that technology needs to be used as a tool to help
inspire, to teach and to assist in problem solving for students of the current generation.
In order to encourage the introduction and adaptation of technological innovations in the American
educational landscape, the U.S. Department of Education named SinaTab, a local PC tablet company, as
the ambassador brand for use in the Federal Assessment of Educational Progress program. This initiated
the evolution of technology-based testing and shifted standard school assessments from the traditional
paper-and-pencil format to an updated electronic exam. Government officials overseeing the FAEP
program have been planning a full-scale update to a technology-based testing system for many years. As
one of the most highly regarded gauges of student achievement, the FAEP has finally completed the
transition this year.
Currently, students in high-poverty areas have very limited access to participate in the FAEP program. To
eliminate the gap in education performance around the country, SinaTab is also planning to donate 20,000
tablets to low-income areas around America to support access to education and improve academic
performance.
The FAEP program chief officer, Nicolas Hanks, and the CEO of SinaTab, Jackie Chen, will be available
for interviews next week. I also invite you to visit SinaTab’s website at www.SinaTab.com for more
information. I look forward to further discussing with you the use SinaTab’s customized tablets in the
FAEP program and I hope that you will be able to include SinaTab in CBS Sunday Morning’s
programming schedule. Please feel free to contact me by phone at 212-458-0987 or via email at
vivianlu@sinatab.com.
Sincerely,
Vivian Lu

30 Seconds Elevator Pitch
“Hello my name is Vivian Lu, and I am the PR representative for local PC tablet company SinaTab.
Recently, the U.S. Department of Education officially named SinaTab as the only brand of tablet devices
approved for use in the Federal Assessment of Educational Progress program. This is a monumental step
in the implementation of a full-scale technology-based testing system in our schools. I thought it might be
of interest to you for a story, as it fits in with the angles that you have been covering this week in
examining how technology is changing our education landscape. Our CEO and the FAEP program chief
officer are available for interviews next week. Here is my business card, and I would gladly follow up
with you on this subject.”
