Social realism refers to art that draws attention to the conditions of the working classes and poor by painters, photographers, and filmmakers from the 19th century onward. It originated in European realism and was further developed in Italian neorealism films after World War II that depicted everyday struggles. A soundtrack can include recorded music that accompanies a motion picture, television show, or video game, as well as commercially released soundtrack albums of the music featured in a film or TV show. The physical portion of a film that contains synchronized recorded sounds is also considered the soundtrack.

Social Realism, an international art movement, refers to the

structures that maintain these conditions.
Social realism traces back to 19th-century
European Realism, including the art of Honore
Daumie, Gustave Courbet and Jean-Francois
Millet.
Social Realism in cinema finds its roots in

Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica, and to some
extent Federico Fellini.
