Pisco is a Peruvian brandy that has been produced in the Ica valley since the 16th century. It is produced mainly from distilling fresh grape musts like Quebranta, Mollar, Negra, and Uvina grapes. There are different types of Pisco including Pure Pisco made from non-aromatic grapes, Aromatic Pisco made from fragrant grapes like Moscatel, Italia, and Torontel, and Flavored Pisco which has fruits added during distillation to impart different flavors. Pisco is colorless, translucent, and light, and is the main ingredient in popular cocktails like the Pisco Sour.
