2. Being a lover of libraries, I found the concept of
Pandora (http://pandora.nla.gov.au/about.html)
interesting. I had never considered what would happen
to everything that was published online; it seems the
amount of work that needs to be done to organise and
collate this incredible influx of information will
continue to expand. (Wiseman, 2012).
3. A tool that is useful for personally organising
information and research is Pinterest
(http://www.pinterest.com/), although it has the
potential to be very distracting. Using Pinterest to
organise information on different boards could
mean never have to spend an hour trying to re-find
that pertinent information, because it will have been
pinned. I have already started a second
board on the use of technology in
the classroom (link is below
ppt).
4. Pinterest could be a useful tool for students when
researching assignments or class work; even a
student without a home computer could set
up an account on a school computer.
The boards can be private;
having control over who sees what you are
working on, or what interests you, is
important. Analysing a variety of boards in class could
help the students learn to be discerning
in the sites they use for research and pinning.
