3. MOTIVATION
In this era of increasing energy costs and decreasing supplies of fossil
fuels, emphasis on protecting the environment and creating
sustainable forms of power have become vital , it is high time that we
look for alternative sources of generating power through different
means.
Piezoelectricity is one of those new alternative sources which can be
implemented easily on public footpaths , airports , train stations and
other places for lighting and other electricity needs. By this method we
can generate electricity from footsteps which is environment friendly as
well. Thus this is our motivation for this project for a clean and green
future.
6. WORKING PRINCIPLE
In our project of this piezoelectric energy generator we need a number of
piezoelectric sensors where we will use the strain or force to generate voltage. It
produces both positive and negative voltages, so to get rid of the negative voltages
we will use a bridge rectifier . We will add diode (1N4007) and capacitor (6.3V
/220mF). Also a PCB Board to where we will be adding then, and a switch for
turning the power on/off. We will stick the piezoelectric sensors on a different
board and place a different board on it where we will apply force on it. At last we
will add a LED to the circuit.
7. CONCLUSION
• The project of ‘PIEZOELECTRIC ENERGY GENARATOR’ is a cost
effective, practical ,eco friendly and safe way to generate clean
electricity.
• It clearly tackles the two problems that the world is facing today,
saving energy and also generating electricity from non fossil
resources.
• By implementing this project on a large scale we can generate energy
from public footsteps in busy areas like colleges, train stations ,
airports , public footpaths for our daily electricity needs.
