The document describes edits made to an image for use in a magazine double page spread. The edits included sharpening the entire image to make edges clearer and the image easier to see. The background was also blurred using filters and tools to make the bike stand out more by taking attention away from the background and adding it to the bike. Layers were used to copy and paste the bike onto another layer so the background could be blurred without affecting the bike. Motion blur was applied as the bike was captured during a stunt. The blur tool was also used to blur edges and small gaps more precisely.

2. This image here I am going to be using for my double page spread in my magazine. One of the ways in which I have edited
this image is that I have sharpened it. I have done this so that the edges of the image appear sharper. This also makes the
image clearer and easier to see and manipulate. Furthermore, another way in which I have edited this image is that I have
used the blur filter and the blur tool to bur out the background so that the bike is enabled to stand out more. By me doing
this, the attention given to the background is taken away and added to the attention given to the bike. This allows the bike to
look more prominent in the shot. This also allows the colours of the bike to stand out and look more sharp.
In this print screen, I have shown how I
selected the filter drop down to then
sharpen it from the menu bar. This
sharpened the entire image instead of just
parts of the image.

3. In this print screen, I am using the pen tool to cut out the image,
in order to blur the background. I did this so that I could copy
out the bike and the model out of the image and paste it upon
another layer, this would allow me to blur the background
without the model and the bike being affected.

4. In this print scree, I am showing how I unlocked the original
layer (layer 0) and added another layer, being the layer 1
shown. Then I pasted the copy of the image I cut out on layer 1.

5. Now in this print screen, I have pasted the image I cut and copied onto layer 1 as you can see. Now that I have done
this, I am able to got to the menu bar and select the filter drop down and go onto the blur feature. I chose to motion blur
upon my background as it is the most suited for my image, this is because the model and bike is not in a stationary
position, it has been captured during a stunt, therefore motion blur most relates to this. I adjusted the amount of the blur
so that it is fit for the image and to get the right amount of blur that I want to be in the image.

6. As I was not able to cut out the image perfectly and blur the
image to the nearest pixel, I used the blur tool from the quick
access toolbar to blur closer to the edges of the image, I did this
by zooming in and out of the image to get a better and sharper
blur nearer to the image. Furthermore, I also used this tool to
blur the background in between small gaps such as the spokes
of the wheel, as it was difficult to use the pen tool between
these gaps.
