IMPRESS BIM Methodology (iBIMm) and Façade Retrofit Methodology using Cloud B...IES VE
Presention at Ireland's leading academic forum on BIM and digital construction processes by IES researcher, Adalberto Guerra Cabrera. It won Best Industry Paper Award at the CiTA BIM Gathering 2017 in Dublin.
He was presenting on IES R&D work for the European funded IMPRESS project. Covering “IMPRESS BIM Methodology (iBIMm) and Façade Retrofit Methodology using Cloud Based Open Source BIM.”
The IMPRESS project is creating a new range of easy to install and manufacturer pre-fabricated panels for retrofit, which will reduce energy demand while improving building aesthetics. This will be supported by a BIM based Integrated Design Process.

This Initiative delivers an adoptable and adaptable guideline for implementation and safe operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) – equipped with digital and thermal cameras and/or laser scanners– for monitoring construction and operation of capital projects. It specifically looks into the requirements for accurate and timely collection, analysis, and communication of construction and operation performance data. It also brings traceability and accountability for safe and efficient operation of the UAVs on project sites.

Optimize Process Management to Improve Business Outcomes - Webinar, September...Aconex
In this webinar, Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Lovell with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers discussed the Corps’ global mission and business lines, and how process and system improvements optimize efficiency and project funding and are critical to our nation’s infrastructure maintenance. Norman Anderson from CG/LA also discussed the current infrastructure landscape, including the challenges of increasingly large projects and the complex partnerships, such as JVs and PPPs, used to support them. The webinar concluded with a short demonstration of Aconex highlighting prebuilt processes like RFI, submittal and design review management.
2018 GIS Colorado: Your Geospatial Connection: Permanent Water Quality Contro...GIS in the Rockies
Development of a Survey 123 mobile inspection platform that would update an existing inventory of Permanent Water Quality control measures was vital to the compliance requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Developing the application will reduce compliance risk and increase efficiency. Utilizing form-based ESRI Survey 123 software for the mobile app development integrated with planned use of SpikeTM smart laser measurement solution lends itself well to geolocation-based solution with area measurements useful for CDOT needs.
Presented at the Utility Technology Association 2013 Conference in Murfreesboro, TN. Provides an overview of web and mobile development projects at Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation

Indonesia Truck Entry Project Proposal (1) [Autosaved].pptxbidyut13
Digitize the logistic operations in Indonesia with the use of Advance Analytics
Reduce the wait time of freight at different touch points (entry gate, exit gate and docks) in a warehouse, in turn will help reduce load/unload throughput time
Enhanced visibility of logistic operations for management to identify opportunities for improvement and take actions accordingly
Currently, the majority of plans received by governments are in digital format which has the benefit of increasing the detail and quality of the data captured for end users. However, the switch to digital plans has also increased the work required to collect and quality control submissions. Often government staff must manually catalogue and review to ensure that submissions are:
• In an acceptable format;
• Of sufficient quality; and
• Compliant with established business rules.
Let us share with you our experiences on implementing FME functionality to help automate processes, enabling plans to be submitted online and pre-screened to ensure that all mandatory information is provided before further processing or inclusion in other government systems.
Digital Plan Checking, using FME, has been implemented across Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia (BC) and is customized for each jurisdiction specific requirements for business rules and workflows, ensuring a perfect fit.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.
Data Centers - Striving Within A Narrow Range - Research Report - MCG - May 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) expects to see demand and the changing evolution of supply, facilitated through institutional investment rotation out of offices and into work from home (“WFH”), while the ever-expanding need for data storage as global internet usage expands, with experts predicting 5.3 billion users by 2023. These market factors will be underpinned by technological changes, such as progressing cloud services and edge sites, allowing the industry to see strong expected annual growth of 13% over the next 4 years.
Whilst competitive headwinds remain, represented through the recent second bankruptcy filing of Sungard, which blames “COVID-19 and other macroeconomic trends including delayed customer spending decisions, insourcing and reductions in IT spending, energy inflation and reduction in demand for certain services”, the industry has seen key adjustments, where MCG believes that engineering cost management and technological innovation will be paramount to success.
MCG reports that the more favorable market conditions expected over the next few years, helped by the winding down of pandemic restrictions and a hybrid working environment will be driving market momentum forward. The continuous injection of capital by alternative investment firms, as well as the growing infrastructural investment from cloud service providers and social media companies, whose revenues are expected to grow over 3.6x larger by value in 2026, will likely help propel center provision and innovation. These factors paint a promising picture for the industry players that offset rising input costs and adapt to new technologies.
According to M Capital Group: “Specifically, the long-term cost-saving opportunities available from the rise of remote managing will likely aid value growth for the industry. Through margin optimization and further availability of capital for reinvestment, strong players will maintain their competitive foothold, while weaker players exit the market to balance supply and demand.”
