In this slideshow demonstration, Rebecca Bennett shows the technical steps taken to create a professional CD cover inspired by artist Charli XCX in Photoshop. The first step was adding a bubblegum background image to the first layer. Next, Bennett added her cropped photo to the second layer and refined the edges. Finally, she joined the background and photo layers together, cutting the photo in half and placing each half on opposite sides of the background to represent the inside of a CD cover.

In this Slideshow I am going to be creating a step to step demonstration of
some of the technical aspects for my course work. In this Slideshow I will be
showing how I have used Photoshop to create a professional CD cover for my
music video influenced by my artist Charli XCX

2. For the first step I put on my background
onto a layer, Its really important to put
each picture and every single letter of a
word onto a new layer each time
otherwise things will get very
complicated and will potentially ruin your
whole process, so I started by adding my
bubble gum back onto the first layer.

3. For the second step I added a new layer and
then added a picture of myself after it had
been cropped.

Here in the screenshot on the right I am
refining the outline of the picture
because it is quite harsh and blunt,
already you can see how the edges are
smoother.

4. For the third step I
have joint the layers
together, they are
still different layers
but I have added
layer 2 on top of
layer 3

I then cut the image
in half and put it
into the edge of the
background to show
half a face.
I then added
another layer and
done the same
thing but moved
the image to the
other half of the
background and
this is the inside
covers of my cd
