Cydney Richardson presents a photography portfolio from 2022 showcasing various experimental studio shoots and techniques. Some highlights include using colored film to portray emotion, a two-part shoot exploring the relationship between humans and technology using projection and body language, and mixing milk and food coloring to achieve colored water effects without photoshop. Richardson also experiments with screen printing techniques using stencils and multiple colors, and captures urban landscapes using a fisheye lens and fractal filters to distort subjects and surroundings. 2. Using 35mm coloured film
Using 35mm coloured film I attempted to portray emotion through setting and subject using coordinating colour.

3. Projection studio shoot
This is a two part shoot series where I present the robotic links between human and technology and the effect it has on our minds, I
portrayed did this through body language.

4. Studio shoot with projection 2.0
This is the second part of the shoot where I intensified my use of projection to overpower my subject.

5. For this shoot I experimented using an LED light pad with colour gels to achieve the red room effect. To compliment the aesthetic of the ‘red room’ I dressed
my subject Lucy in lots of patterns to create a sense of mismatch chaos. As my aim was to abstract the ordinary I had Lucy's face hidden in the shots to create
a sense of mystery, to support this idea I also had her use the shower head as a prop phone to add a sense of question.

6. Studio shoot for GQ magazine cover
This studio shoot was used to achieve the outcome of a magazine cover, I used photoshop to add text, colour to the background
as well as the GQ logo.

7. Fractal filter outdoor portraiture experiment
For this shoot I used a fractal filter to distort my subject and his surroundings. This was an experiment shoot to explore different ways to
abstract mediocre portraiture.

8. Milky tub shoot
This is one of my recent experimental shoots. I wanted to combine colour into my work without using photoshop and coloured gels. To
achieve the coloured water effect I used milk and food colouring.

10. Silk screen prints
I chose to experiment with lots of different colours as well as testing out pure white fabric and classic calico fabric. I discovered after the first print calico was my favourite background as it gives a more organic feel
complimenting my beach print.
To achieve the different colour
circles I made a stencil from a
photocopy, after printing with the
orange I used the stencil over the
screen so only the circles were
exposed, I then used purple to
overlay.
For this print I
experimented using two
tones of pink to create a
sense of depth.
This is a plain and simple red print
which is one of my favourited due to
the simplicity.
This was my first trial of using stencils, I
placed the circles on the screen where I
wanted the gap.

11. Screen print of fisheye photograph onto painted canvas
This piece of work was
my final piece for my last
art and design project.
To create this piece I
used one of my own
photographs using a
fisheye lens in London. I
then bitmapped my
image using photoshop
so it was ready to be put
on a silk screen. I chose
to experiment onto
paper first.
For my final piece I chose to
paint onto an A2
Canvas using acrylic paint, my
aim for this piece was to
present the idea of fast pace
movement through the busy
city of London.
Due to the texture of the
canvas from the acrylic paint
the print is slightly uneven,
however I really like the urban
effect it gives.

12. Trial shoot using fisheye
Using a fisheye lens for the first time I experimented shooting a subject in a urban environment.

13. Flashgun wide angle shoot
This is a shoot using a wide
angle lens with a flashgun.
This shoot is to present
comfortability in someone's
personal space.

14. Experimental indoor shoot with projection in low light conditions
This is a home shoot using
projection to portray the
idea of mental state and
distress. I chose a powerful
red image to reflect this
emotion.

15. Architectural shoot using fractal filters
I surprisingly haven't done a lot of other photography outside portraiture. To explore urban scape photography I chose to use a
fractal filter to distort the buildings in Southbank, London.
