This is my Woking Quarter Canal app project. I have created a presentation showing the process I went through to create a final outcome of my animated app, promoting the location and its surroundings.
The document discusses the development of an app about the architecture of the Lightbox Gallery in London. The author decided to focus on one building, the Lightbox Gallery, because it would allow them to maintain a consistent style throughout the app. They came up with many ideas for how to design the app based on their visit to the gallery, noting the different colors, textures, and patterns. The document then provides examples of inspiration sources like a music video, Pinterest, and a poster that influenced the app's design. It also shares preliminary sketches and color palettes developed for the app. Finally, it outlines initial page ideas for the welcome screen and information about the gallery.
The document describes an app being created to advertise attractions in Woking, England. The app will include pages on different attractions with images and brief descriptions. Three images are discussed that inspired the design of pages for the app. The first page includes a flower drawing representing nature in Woking using site-specific colors. The second page features an outlined duck and pattern representing both nature and a local building. The third and final page shows both nature and man-made elements in a minimalist style using watercolors. Details are also provided on the typography and color scheme planned for the app.
This document discusses designing a dream home and includes sections on kitchen design, room design, and drawing room design. It provides information to help plan and visualize different aspects of a custom home build or remodel.
The document summarizes the photographer's selection of 10 images from a photography project focused on portraying Salford Quays in Manchester as a vibrant place. Images 1-2 and 4-5 aimed to showcase the nightlife by capturing sunset colors reflected in the water. Images 6-7 featured the buildings parallel to a lake. Images 8-10 promoted the BBC buildings at Salford Quays, especially through the use of artificial lighting in Images 8 and 9-10. The photographer felt Image 1 best achieved the goals but Images 4-5 could have been clearer, and suggests improving night photography skills. Post-processing included increasing saturation and cropping.
The document discusses codes and conventions used in soap operas and compares them to the student's media product. Some conventions highlighted include:
1) Using realistic storylines and locations to create a sense of realism for the audience.
2) Multiple parallel storylines and cliffhangers are used to keep audiences watching.
3) Shots like close-ups and over-the-shoulder shots help viewers connect with characters and create a sense of realism.
4) Establishing shots, location shooting, and mise-en-scene with everyday locations and objects help set the scene and make the world feel believable.
The student analyzes how their product challenged or developed some conventions
Golf began on Prince Edward Island in 1909 but did not become popular until the past 25 years. The development of excellent golf courses and hospitality resources has supported more visitors looking to golf. Prince Edward Island now has over 25 golf courses thanks to investments and the opening of the Confederation Bridge in 1997, which made the island more accessible. The Links at Crowbush Cove, which opened in 1993, was particularly influential as one of the first contemporary golf developments and helped establish Prince Edward Island as a golf destination.

The document describes an app designed to inform people about Woking's Canal Quarter. The app uses photographs, a painting of the canal, and a map to showcase things about the Canal Quarter and bring more people to visit. It has three pages: the first uses an unraveling animation of logos to introduce the topic, the second features a painting of the canal as a backdrop, and the third spins in images of buildings on the map while adjusting effects like hue and blur to conclude the tour. The goal is to create a strong visual experience using images rather than text to inform people about the Canal Quarter.
The document summarizes Hermione Finch's location-based art project. She began by photographing and drawing observational studies of her location, a courtyard, focusing on textures, compositions, and perspective. She experimented with different materials and broadened her scope to include more natural elements. These initial studies provided a foundation but left her unsure of direction. She created a 3D model in SketchUp of a bench from her location, which inspired her through shadows and abstraction. Further experimentation refined her ideas. Her final sculpture was a large-scale version of one of her 3D models, placed at an outdoor sculpture park. Overall she felt the project was successful but wishes she had explored more designs before returning to a previous
The document contains a table of contents and 10 projects from a graphic design portfolio, including flyers for a national park and music festival, a children's storybook, resume, typography exercise, mock website, surreal image, holiday card, and branding project. It provides descriptions of the goals, programs used, things learned, and color schemes for each project.
The document describes the student's process for their "The Place In Question" project. They used various approaches to examine and record their location, including photographs, measurements, and drawings. They created a 3D model of the area in Google SketchUp and a video showing it from different angles. The student learned simple objects can look interesting up close. They produced a large mixed media drawing, 3D sculpture using various materials, and a print to represent the area. Historical and contemporary artists influenced their work, such as using color perspective inspired by Nicolas De Stael.
The document outlines Matthew Evans' plans for a project creating a fanzine about resistance on the planet Naboo in the Star Wars universe. It discusses research conducted on fanzine formats and styles as well as the planet of Naboo. Potential approaches include creating an animation or 3D scene to include in the fanzine to visualize what Naboo may have looked like during the Empire's reign.
1) The document provides an evaluation of the production process for a project related to guest houses. Research included analyzing similar products and conducting a questionnaire and interviews to understand the target audience.
2) Planning included initial reactions, mood boards to develop ideas, and mind maps to expand on the three initial ideas and choose a final idea. Pre-production included selecting colors and layouts.
3) Time management was tracked through a schedule, though some setbacks occurred when storage devices failed and work had to be redone. Technical qualities of the poster and leaflet are analyzed in comparison to examples in terms of images, text, fonts, and color schemes.
1. The document outlines plans for creating a fanzine about the Star Wars planet Naboo.
2. Research was conducted on Naboo's architecture, textures, foliage and water features to accurately portray the planet.
3. The fanzine will have imagery on one page and descriptive text on the facing page. Additionally, the creator plans to include an original 3D scene of Naboo created in Blender.
4. If time allows, the creator hopes to animate the Blender scene and include it within the fanzine itself.
The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of creating coursework, including a music video and digipak. At the planning stage, the student used YouTube to research other works, SurveyMonkey for a survey, and WordCloud to analyze survey results. For construction, the student used Final Cut Pro to edit the music video, adjusting colors, brightness, and adding transitions. Photoshop was used to create graphics for the digipak from photos taken, and Microsoft Word was used to layout the digipak. The same technologies of Photoshop and Word were used for the magazine advertisement.
The document discusses research conducted for a fanzine and animation project focused on Star Wars. It examines different fanzine layouts, color schemes, and formatting techniques. It also explores how to recreate aspects of the planet Naboo and Star Wars blaster animations in Blender, noting techniques for the environment, buildings, foliage, water, lighting, and simulating blaster bolts and lightsabers. The research uncovered various presentation styles and technical methods that could be applied to the fanzine and animation productions.
Rhiannah Baker created a photography portfolio to evaluate her production process. She conducted research including analyzing existing photography styles and images of the Berlin Wall. Planning involved creating a mood board and schedule. Peer feedback noted the organized physical portfolio but suggested some images were lost against backgrounds. The digital portfolio's images had loading issues. Given more time, Rhiannah would create her own website for more design freedom and take additional photos.
Using the pen tool in Illustrator, the student learned how to create outlines with anchors and convert points to create skirts. They also learned how to apply patterns and use the shape-builder tool. For a bag project, they traced an image with the pen tool and added color and shading. In another homework task, they experimented with the pen tool and Gaussian blur tool on a Dior lipstick image. The student also learned how to redesign apps using correct measurements and the pathfinder divide tool. They designed iPhone covers using measurements and creating swatches by dragging patterns into the swatches palette. Finally, they learned to interlock fonts and apply shadows to create monograms.
The document provides a reflection on the student's work over 5 weeks creating assets for an animated film project. In week 1, they designed a poster in Photoshop using tools like the brush and smudge tools. In week 2, they created sand dunes and camera animation in Blender for an opening sequence. Archive footage was added in Premiere Pro. In week 3, narration was recorded and 2D animation was done in Photoshop and Adobe Animate. A t-shirt design promoting the film was made in Photoshop for week 4. Week 5 involved creating 3D driving scenes and a character in Blender.
The document summarizes the key aspects of the author's pre-production and production process for creating a parallax animation. In pre-production, the author researched existing parallax animations, developed plans and aims, created storyboards and contingency plans. In production, the author cut images into layers in Photoshop, then animated the layers in After Effects over three shots, utilizing techniques like scaling, rotating and moving layers. The author reflected on their process daily to improve efficiency and reinforce creative decisions.

The cherry: beauty, softness, its heart-shaped plastic has inspired artists since Antiquity. Cherries and strawberries were considered the fruits of paradise and thus represented the souls of men.
2. 1
The aim of my app is to design and advertise the Woking
Canal location for visitors .
The purpose of my app is to create an app that promotes the
WWF in the canal Quarter.
I will achieve this by creating an app that visualises the
design outlook of the Lightbox and the WFF centre, as well as
objects I picked upon in the centre. I will aim use my studies
of the place and highlight detailed areas of them.
3. 2
1. This is one of my inspiration that I
looked at when illustrating different
styles and techniques I could study of
Woking’s canal.
I really like the way the painting style
that is used in this artwork. The artist
has shown a clear and water looking
reflection that creates a realistic
approach.
2. I really like the way the
patterns are overlapped
over one another, with
different circular size
shapes. From the photos
and observational
drawings at the canal
quarter I will look at the
use of repeated patterns
overlapping.
3. The upright view of the
photo taken here is really
successful in the sense that
each tessellated pattern
stands out. I could look into
this further by drawing a
study of repeated patterns
on a building from this style
of view.
4. 3
Here are studies of some areas I looked
at when I visited working Canal Quarter. I
started off with studying the front
entrance of the building, I used HB to
show shadows.
I also studies four other areas inside the
Lightbox and outside. I used a variety of
materials to create texture and colour
using biro, watercolours, fine liner and
acrylics.
I would like to use some of these studies
for my animation as a view of the
Lightbox and WWF .But also looking at
objects inside the centres.
5. 4
‘Welcome to the Woking Wild
Life Foundation’
This is the style of typography that I
would like to use ‘Times New Roman’ and
the size of 26.0pt with a colour use of
blue.
As you can see I screen shot colour swatches of
the studies I did. I used kuler to help me select
the most commonly used colours, this will
enable me to move further by looking at the
frequently used colours and how I can make
each app page look different.

Animation 1:
This is my first page of my
animation, promoting the
WWF Centre. I used one of
my studies of the Canal
quarter as the background.

7. Animation 2: This is my second animation I
created for my second page. I
decided to use my study of the
inside the WWF building, where I
looked at the overall image of the
animal trust website-pandas.
The original object
had a numerous
amount of pandas
rotating 360 degrees
on its spot.
I wanted to use a
similar approach by
creating some kind
of movement to the
pandas.

9. Animation 3:
This is my final animated page of my app. I aimed
to create a design that showed ,my favourite study
but also the overall Lightbox building itself.
Showing my focus of patterns, colour and texture.
I did this by creating a rotating shape that
increases in size half way though as if rotates
across the page, focussing on certain areas of
design. I then created a gradual process that faded
the image out.

These are my final results of the
animation being placed onto an app
template, and how it would start, by
clicking on the Canal Quarter app.
The number on the bottom left of each
app 3 is clicked on the animated page
is hyperlinked to it.
