Phishing is a form of online fraud where attackers try to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details from victims by disguising themselves as a trustworthy entity through fake emails or websites. The goal of phishing is to trick users into providing private information that can then be used for fraudulent purposes. Common phishing techniques include sending official-looking emails that install unwanted tracking software on a victim's computer when opened.
