8. TERMINOLOGIES:
Wane (Waning)
- (of the moon) have a progressively smaller part of its visible
surface illuminated, so that it appears to decrease in size.
Wax (Waxing)
- the moon at any time after new moon and before full
moon, so called because its illuminated area is increasing.
Gibbous
- (of the moon) having the observable illuminated part
greater than a semicircle and less than a circle.

A lunar eclipse is when the Earth is exactly between the Moon

anywhere on the dark side of the Earth. A solar eclipse can
