Loading and unloading through Gantry area
Gantry - A framework on a loading, under or besides which one
or two loading bays with some articulated जोड़ा हुआ loading

Loading Arm/Hose - A piping or hose arrangement for filling in
a truck.
Loading Bay - An inlet for trucks to stay under product loading.

Hazards & Health effects of Gasoline
 Many harmful effects of gasoline are due to individual chemicals in gasoline, that are present in small amounts.
 Breathing small amounts of gasoline vapours can lead to:
1. Nose and throat irritation,
2. Headaches,
3. Dizziness,
4. Nausea, जी मिचल़ाऩा
5. Vomiting,
6. Confusion and
7. Breathing difficulties.
8. Respiratory problems such as coughing and trouble breathing
9. Rash from skin contact with gasoline
10. Irritation or burning in the eyes from gas splashes
11. Weakness,
12. numbness in arms and legs,
13. Rapid heart beat
14. Redness and blisters may occur

General Precautions of Gasoline
 Avoid breathing gasoline fumes.
 Make sure gasoline is not near any heat source or flame.
 Store only in approved containers.
 Inspect portable gas containers before use. ...
 Avoid storing a gasoline container in a vehicle.
 Don't smoke or use matches, lighters, or other
ignition sources anywhere around gasoline
 Use non sparking tools
Never use glass or plastic bottles for gasoline storage.

General Precautions of Gasoline
 Skin Contact: Quickly take off contaminated clothing,
shoes and leather goods (e.g., watchbands, belts).
 Quickly and gently blot द़ाग or brush away excess chemical.
 Wash gently धीरे and thoroughly with lukewarm, गुनगुऩा
 Gently flowing water and non-abrasive soap for 5 minutes.
 Call a Poison Centre or doctor if the victim feels unwell.

are caused by gasoline.
 About 500 Americans die every year in gasoline-related fires.
 Flammable liquid fires cause $1.5 billion in direct property
damage each year.
 One gallon of gas has the explosive power of 20 sticks of
dynamite!

 The most commonly known flammable liquid is gasoline.
 Gasoline has a flash point of -45°F (-23c’)
 Gasoline: LEL/UEL 1.2 to 7.1 %
 Auto ignition: 280 °C (536 °F)
 Gasoline burn in an engine: between 32-50 bars and the
temperature to 600 degree Celsius
 Flash point of Motor Gasoline
 is around - 43 degree C or about
-35 to -45 degree C

House Keeping ‫کیپنگ‬ ‫ہاؤس‬
 Ensure all waste is disposed of in the correct skip / bin.
 Make sure that spilled oil, grease or liquids are cleaned up from floors and the
contaminated clean up material is disposed of in the correct skip / bin.
 When clearing up, make sure the refuse disposal point is in a safe position and
all waste containers are clearly marked for their contents.
 Dispose of oil rags in metal containers.
 An accumulation of waste material provides a good
starting point for fire. Do not let it happen.
 Remember a Tidy Site is a Safe Site.
 It is the responsibility of each person to maintain hose keeping

General Emergency response and Evacuation
plan for Fire at EMARAT Premises
 IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM
 Stop the Work
 Switch off all Machines
 Evacuate the work spot and Report to assembly Point
 Site supervisor will take Head Count
 IF YOU SEE A FIRE
 Shout “FIRE!FIRE”
 Raise the Nearest Fire Alarm (If you knowing)
 Fight the fire if you can , By using portable fire Extinguishers, While doing so stay upwind to
the fire.
 In case of a Big fire evacuate the work spot and Report to assembly point (near Security
office)
 OTHER GUIDELINES FOR EMERGENCY
 Do not Block internal roads, main or emergency gate
 Do not wander उधर-इधर फिरऩा in the Terminal or gather around the emergency effected area
 Do not re-enter the work spot without permission of Incident commander

Precautions before loading the truck:
 Put on hand break
 Switch off engine
 Switch off battery
 Place stop front most & rear most tyres / wooden edge
 Open emergency valve & drain compartment
 The driver should be available near the truck
 Connect the earth connection to the body of the truck to avoid static charges
 Check the condition of tanker before filling
 Safety procedures while loading tankers like battery to be switched off before loading,
 Scully grounding cable to be removed after loading,
 compartments to be checked for any leakages from joints/flanges, seal all
compartments with respective colour codes of products.
 Note: never unload the tanker without fixing the earthing conductor

Precautions inside /outside of
Terminal
 Maximum speed limit for inside Terminal is 10 KM/Hour for Heavy vehicles (15 for light)
 Vehicles shall not be parked on any internal road in such a way that they may block the way of
fire fighting equipment or fire brigade vehicles ,in case of emergency.
 The parking brake shall be applied whenever a Tanker is parked.
 All drivers ,inside Terminal shall hold valid Licenses
 Emergency exits, fire hydrants and other
such necessary areas will be free from parking.
 Don’t use mobile phone while driving
 No smoking inside the Tanker
 Fasten seat belt during driving
 Maintain distance inside Terminal and
 (6 seconds) on road.
 Pay attention to your actions and those of the
drivers around you when you are driving.
