The Marketing Environment And Marketing Mix Of A Firm
In this report, I have used marketing concepts to analyze the marketing environment and marketing
mix of a firm, which has achieved superior performance. I have chosen one of the most famous and
oldest retailer in the UK, Marks Spencer.
Marks Spencer is one of the best well known British department stores. It was founded by Michael
Marks and Thomas Spencer in 1884 (M S, 2014). It started as a market stall at Kirkgate Market in
Leeds. Nowadays, M S has transformed to an international multi channel retailer with 798 stores in
UK and 455 international stores (M S, 2014). According to its annual report this year, it has earned a
total revenue of £10.3 billions over the last year. (M S, 2014)
Basically Marks Spencer has divided its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore Plan A is launched in 2007 (M S, 2014). It is a plan that promotes ethical trading,
environmentally friendly and sustainability. For example under this plan, M S has developed a
programme that trains suppliers with their rights, as well as support some disadvantaged supply chain
workers. With the help of Plan A, M S has established a good relationship with their suppliers and also
earn them a place of high rated ethical trading company.
Maintaining good relationship with the suppliers is very important. If one of the suppliers suddenly
refuses to supply material to M S, they can find another suppliers immediately. Therefore M S has
never failed on the supply of materials.
➢ Customers
M S mainly target the consumer market rather than business and government market. The objective of
M S is not only maximizing their profit, but also increase customer satisfaction and their loyalty. M S
target their customers on the upper class of the society that means people with higher income, and also
healthy eaters in the society. Their target customers mostly aim at improving their quality of lives,
concerning about the product quality rather than prices. So M S devote their effort on improving the
quality of their products so as to increase customer s satisfaction. According to Baber Smith, M S have
seen as producing good quality products with good values (Baber Smith, 2009).

Essay about The Beatles
1. Comparison of Instrumentation In song #1, You ve Got To Hide Your Love Away, features both
John Lennon and Paul McCartney on the acoustic rhythm guitar, George Harrison on the acoustic lead
guitar, Ringo Starr circulates between the tambourine, shaker, and maracas. Johnnie Scott plays the
tenor and alto flutes (MacDonald, 148). In song #2, I m Down, has a little different setup on
instrumentation with McCartney on the electric bass, Lennon on the electric guitar, organ, Harrison on
lead Electric Guitar, and Starr on the drums, bongos. (MacDonald, 148). The resemblance for song #1
and #2 is that both use guitars but take note that McCartney switches from acoustic guitar to the bass.

Chuck Berry was perhaps the most fundamental progenitor of the Beatles sound,
(www.liverpoolcityportal.co.uk/beatle/beatles_influences[ 0], April 13th, 2013). The solo s of electric
guitar can be heard in both Berry s Johnny B Goode and I m Down. Between both Beatles songs the
differences seem to override the similarities. They both have a completely different feel. One
screaming rock n roll and the other acoustic folk. The influences of each song clearly point this out.
Bob Dylan an acoustic player and Little Richard a Rock N Roll player are two completely different
sounding musicians.
3. Discussion of the Lyrics
The lyrics of song #1 have a poetic feel to them. You ve got to hide your love away, can be
categorized as (2) sexuality or (8) abstract or poetic image making. The sexuality can be seen within
the lyrics and even in the title of the song. Homosexuality is what the song is about when reading the
lyrics carefully. Almost like a picture story you can imagine a gay individual who has to had his love
and everywhere people stare at hime making the person feel two foot small. After understanding the
deep meaning of the song it becomes more personal and beautiful. That is where an abstract and poetic
image is made.
The lyrics of song #2, I m down, can be categorized as (3) alienation. The lyrics are very repetitive,
repeating I m down over and over again. The lyrics make someone feel estranged or outcasted. How
can you laugh when

Dr. Martin Luther King s Principles Of Nonviolence
Dr. Martin Luther King s philosophy showed not only Americans but humans in general the necessity
to fight for equality and real freedom without hurting those who oppose our points of view. Dr. King s
Six Principles of Nonviolence have become a bible for those fighting for the most just causes in the
planet and years after his dead his knowledge and ideals still inspiring people from different races,
religions and cultures.
In Venezuela a man called Leopoldo Lopez is a living example of the validity Dr. King s values have
in our time. Lopez was the head of a movement to ask for the resignation of Venezuela s dictator
Nicolas Maduro through pacific demonstrations on the street all over the country.
Venezuelans response to Lopez s call was tremendous and thousands of people went out to the streets
to reestablish the democracy and the dignity of a country where toilet paper, milk, diapers and other
basic goods are a privilege. Maduro s forces tried to silent the people by using violence. The final
results were 43 demonstrators dead, thousands injured and around 1500 arrested including Lopez.
But Lopez arrest was not a normal one. After the first demonstration in Caracas, the government
issued an order to detain Lopez. It was not the first time the party in power tried to silent Lopez, he
has been a victim of multiple accusations including an order to restrict his right to be elected in any
political position. Lopez decided to turn himself in to the authorities in front

Richard s heart fluttered in relief when he heard Lexi s familiar voice, and he fixated his gaze on the

Pneumococcal/Streptococcus Pneumoniae
Question 1: The pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, and treatment of pneumococcal lobar
pneumonia and bronchopneumonia
Pneumococcal Lobar pneumonia
Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia is a disease that generally infects the entire lungs. According to
Kadioglu (290), bacteria that are known as streptococcus pneumoniae, also referred to as
pneumococcus, cause the infection. The bacteria are a coccus that is located in pairs or small chains.
Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia encompasses a large section of a lobe or the whole lobe of the lung.
Moreover, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia has reduced its effects due to quick response to the
treatment methods, although this disease is still a large menace in the developed nations. In the
developing nations, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia is a major cause of mortality. Similarly, this
illness mostly affects young people and middle aged adults; it rarely infects babies and old
individuals. In addition, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia has been commonly analyzed to be affecting
men more than women. People who drink alcohol and use tobacco products are also highly susceptible
to lobar pneumonia.
Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia generally infects the upper section of the respiratory system among
adults and children and has a possibility of diffusing to blood, entire lung, internal ear, or the nervous
system. The disease appears after an individual has been exposed to cold or following a previous

Liberation Theology Essay
Introduction According to Enns (2008), liberation theology attempts to infer the holy writ through the
plight of the poor. This movement originated from South America in the early 1950s when Marxism
was the most popular theory among the poor. It was a response to the ill treatment and poverty facing
the ordinary people. It dealt with the issue of distribution of wealth among people in order to upgrade
the economic status in life. This movement had strong Romanian Catholic roots bolstered in Colombia
in 1968 at a conference where, the bishops proposed a merger between the Karl Marx teachings with
those of Jesus Christ. Liberation theology support was immense but various critiques across the
religious framework (Novak, 1991). This movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, emergence of negative results due to black liberation was evident. This is because the theory
tends to separate the black and white Christian communities thus enhancing racism which is not
religious or biblical. By critically analysing the biblical way of life, a level of unity among the people
who share the same doctrine of Christ is expected. Black Liberation Theology initially intended to
assist the black community, but in reality it ended up hurting the more. It promoted negative values for
instance: racial tension, victimization, and Marxism ultimately leading to more oppression. Latin
American Liberation Theology The liberation theory originally developed from ideologies and
activities instigated by the Catholic missionaries in the colonial Latin America. Latin American
Liberation Theology says that there is oppression and exploitation of poor people by the rich capitalist
nations. The Latin people developed the theology by radical interpretation of the bible biased to the
people. The inclusion of armed pastors was one of the characteristics that brought this movement in
the limelight. This yearning for change got spurred by armed revolution. This is why; so many
churches had people carrying guns and other weapons to shoe how they were fighting for their
liberation. Critique of the Latin American Liberation Theology Latin American Liberation Theology is
one of the theologies that had a lot of impact on the

English Controlled Assessment Essay
English Controlled Assessment
The English language, although used by almost all across the United Kingdom, has been mutated and
altered in so many ways that sometimes we cannot even understand it ourselves.
One of the main factors that affects our understanding of the language is one s regional accent.
Although most words and phrases will be comprehensible some phonetics may have changed so much
that all we can do is hope that the context of what has been said makes sense in order for us to fill in
the gaps .
My paternal grandmother, as related to me by my father, spoke with a West Country accent. West

semantic field associated with his profession, such as IMF international monetary fund. PAYE pay as
you earn, and CT corporation tax. By using his semantic field when he talks to his colleagues, he can
distance himself from people who do not understand technical terms. For example, he works in a
department called MTIC, which might seem confusing, but by using simple abbreviations, Missing

His ability to converge supports Howard Giles Accommodation theory . His ability to adjust his

people that he is talking to to feel more comfortable and may make it easier for them to understand
what is being presented.
For example, when he is explaining something to me, he uses a calm tone of voice giving examples
that I can relate to. However, when talking to his boss he uses an assertive, confident tone, wider

Charismatic Theology
The charismatic movement1 began within the historic churches in the 1950s. On the American scene it
started to attract broad attention in 1960, with the national publicity given to the ministry of the
Reverend Dennis Bennett, an Episcopalian in Van Nuys, California. Since then there has been a
continuing growth of the movement within many of the mainline churches: first, such Protestant
churches as Episcopal, Lutheran, and Presbyterian; second, the Roman Catholic (beginning in 1967);
and third, the Greek Orthodox (beginning about 1971).2 by now the charismatic movement has
become worldwide and has participants in many countries

The Pentecostal/Charismatic movement is heavily splintered; the number of groups within this
movement number in the tens of thousands. We can, however, examine the major groups of the
movement. Pentecostalism and its offshoots can be divided into three groups: Classical Pentecostals,
those who are members of the standard Pentecostal groups, most of which originated in the first
quarter of the twentieth century; the Charismatics, or those in other denominations who received the
baptism of the Holy Spirit; and the so called Neo Charismatics, the groups formed in the last half of
the century, most of which are not affiliated with the Pentecostal denominations. We will examine the
classical Pentecostal groups in more detail; it will suffice to say for the Charismatics that they are
present in the majority of the denominations of Christendom, normally having their own associations
as part of their denominations
We must first examine the pre Pentecostal era, the time before 1901. Many churches received the
message of the Holiness movement, which stemmed from Wesleyan theology. Many of these groups
were looking forward to a renewal of the Holy Spirit, when the gifts present on the day of Pentecost
would return to the churches. Many of these Holiness groups became Pentecostal after the turn of the

A Brief Note On Automated Idiocy And Technology
Automated Idiocy
Technology has become an every expanding subject and material ever since its first introduction to the
world. The largest expansion and introduction of new technology has been in the last decade.
Companies and organizations are replacing employees with technology. It can be seen and heard
throughout major and minor companies and organizations throughout the United States. A prime
example of technology changing an entire market is within the travel agency field. Before the Internet
and new technology, if one wanted to book a trip or flight they would have to go into a physical store
and talk with a human that would do all the paperwork necessary to purchase a trip. Nowadays those
stores have completely disappeared. What was once a store found in every shopping center is now
only find in a handful of cities through the United States. The physical stores have turned into
websites found on the World Wide Web and the humans have turned into software programs.
Challenges of Technology Service organizations are seeking a competitive edge by using new
technology assisted services for their customers; however, these technologies can backfire onto the
company with high costs to run the technology, challenges of the new technology and embarrassing
fails of the technology. One of the challenges of using technology to manage customer interfaces is
automated idiocy. Just as the phrase lays out, automated idiocy is the rush to automate service
functions often leads

The tragic events that took place in Romeo and Juliet could be considered the result of Romeo s poor

Obama Veto Research Paper
Did you know that Obama has had to use the veto stamp fewer times than any other president since
Garfield? (Ingraham) This statement might seem unrealistic, but many presidents have chosen not to
use the veto stamp and if so only a few times! A veto is when the president rejects a bill from
becoming a law. There are many steps leading up to the presidential veto it first starts out with the
legislative branch who decides if the bill is good enough to be sent to the president. The president is a
part of the executive branch and decides if the bill should be vetoed or not. Presidential veto relates to
checks and balances in many ways, but the main way is that when the president vetoes it, the
Legislative branch has the chance to make the bill a law! This is rare though because they have to give

This is because the president (executive) is checking over the bills that the congress (legislative) gave
for him to pass it as a law or not. If the president decides to veto the bill, it is sent to the legislative
branch again to have the chance to make the vetoed bill a law. Since the congress still has the chance
to make the bill a law, it limits the power for the president, this being an example of checks and
balances. This process has been used since George Washington became president in 1789! Every
single president has had the chance to use the veto, but yet, 7 presidents decided not veto any bills.
Many presidents have used the veto power, though with Franklin D. Roosevelt has the most with 335
vetoes!(Tau) This process is important because if the legislative branch made the all the decisions it
would take forever and we wouldn t have as many laws. We wouldn t have as many laws because the
congress would need ⅔ of the vote to make it a law and that is not that likely, so with the president
choosing it makes it more

Essay On Angle Analysis Paper
Introduction: The group of Kayla Morabito, Garrett Lewis, Rebecca Oviedo and Zach Prow were
tasked with measuring the PLM building on Main Campus at Wake tech. The first step was to find the
building then measure perpendicularly out thirty feet using a string and measuring tape. Starting from
the ground, at zero feet, one group member held the protracted while the other looked at the angle
created by the top of the building. The group members would rotate places to double check the angle
measure to ensure accuracy. The same process would occur at two and four feet off the ground all still
at thirty feet away; now a group member would have to hold the tape measure tightly with tension.
The purpose is to find the angle measure created by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the four feet measurement, the angle was easier to see therefor the height was a little easier to
calculate versus the ground measurement. Although these numbers were in the general area, for all
three calculations some error was present due to estimations of the angle as well as holding the
protractor. This was difficult because it needed to be in the exact same spot for all calculations since a
group member needed to hold it, the proctor did move slightly throwing off the numbers only a few
degrees. The difficulties in this project was obtaining the data from the ground because it was difficult
to get underneath the protractor to see the angle; someone was on the ground looking up at the
building leaving room for interpretation of the angle measure. This process could have been done
differently by choosing a spot with a lower vantage point. For example, if a group was to measure this
building again and there were stairs, to stand at the bottom of the stairs while still on the ground level
that the building is on. This way that the calculations are still measuring from the ground to the top of
the building, but it would be a lot easier to see underneath the angle versus lying on the

Human Trafficking And Child Prostitution
Every person in this world has to make a living somehow. The most unprotected and risky profession,
in my opinion has to be prostitution. These men and women go to work without knowing who they
will have to deal with and what could possibly happen to them. These individuals participate in this
line of work not only to provide for themselves, but also for family members. In essence, the
government should legalize prostitution because it would protect their rights, ensure safety, and
benefit their health.
I believe pushing lawmakers towards the legalization of this profession would be beneficial to sex
workers. However, many may argue about the downsides such as human trafficking and child
prostitution. This does not affect my view because if this profession is to be legal one could find,
address, and reduce or hopefully eradicate these problematic issues.
After conducting this extensive research, I believe I learned a lot about this profession. I gathered a
copious amount of information from Sources such as Vice, Whores Glory , and online websites. These
sources helped me understand the workers and what they have to face every single day. Also letting
the people who are willing to listen to know what changes should be implemented. With these results I
aim to prove why passing this law would help these individuals health and well being. These men and
women should not be looked upon differently because of the job they chose to pursue. Anyone in this
world no matter the

business. Ask yourself the following questions: ! ! ! What business am I in? Is my definition right for
today s market? Do I need to change my business to meet emerging customer needs?
A clear vision of your business is crucial for planning your marketing, product development, buildings
and equipment, and financial and staff needs. For example, a drop in sales caused a small business
manufacturer of metal trash cans to reexamine its product. To regain lost sales, the owner decided to
redefine the product as metal containers and to develop a new marketing plan.
Setting Goals
Long range business goals will be the cornerstone of your company s MBO program. To achieve
these goals, you must have a method to communicate them to your managers and employees. One way
is to bring managers and employees into the process by asking them to help formulate the company s
short and long range goals. If they have a role in establishing the goals, they will be more committed
to achieving them. All goals should relate to and support the long range objectives for the company. In
this way, you can ensure that the goals of all levels of management are consistent. If goals are
incompatible, you may find that employees feel like the middle manager of a research and
development company who exclaimed in a seminar, How can I set my goals when I don

The Awakening Literary Analysis Essay

Literary Analysis:
Edna Pontellier Since it s controversial debut in 1899, The Awakening by Kate Chopin has captivated
and enthralled audiences over the years. Due to its mature content discussing female sexual desires,
the novel was first regarded as immoral and corrupt; therefore, many critics gave harsh reviews and
criticized Chopin, causing her to never be able to publish another novel. Additionally, her novel
centered around a woman s independence and the struggles of married life, and writing about such
topics was unheard of. The society in Chopin s time was patriarchal and women had virtually no
rights; the women in this era were perceived as being too emotional ... Show more content on

She feels that suicide is the only way to seek closure from all of her responsibilities, since her
idealistic dreams are crushed when Robert leaves her. Edna fails to realize and causes the audience to
ponder what will happen to her husband and children in the aftermath. Indeed there are several
possible scenarios that could have transpired after Edna s death, but the most likely is that everyone in
her life will be devastated and her children will grow up motherless. Edna does actually think of her
family before she commits suicide, they were a part of her life. But they need not have thought that
they could possess her, body and soul (Chopin); and this only confirms the level of her selfishness.
Throughout The Awakening, themes of femininity, motherhood and self expression are portrayed, all
of which Edna struggles with. These themes are merely used to help the reader comprehend the type
of confinement and repression that Edna and other women of the Victorian era faced. Women of the
time period, were expected to be complacent and property of their husbands. In the novel, Madame
Ratignolle portrays more of the ideal Victorian woman, since she is perfectly at ease with the
expectations society has placed on

the others? Explain. The three types of budgets are rule of thumb budgeting, departmental budgeting,
and task budgeting. Rule of thumb budgeting involves designating a fixed percentage of some
criterion variable. For instance, an organization might specify that the research budget for the year will
be 1% of sales. This ensures some resources are available but does not link the need for research to the
amount budgeted. Departmental budgeting allocates a portion of total expenditures in the unit to
research activities. Each unit then has the authority to approve their own projects. Task

Buckeye Glass in China
Case Study: Buckeye Glass Company in China
The differences between Chinese Culture and American Culture are immense. Both cultures have very
different values and norms, and these differences come out within the negotiation between Buckeye
Glass Company and the Xia Xian Glass Factory. Both parties during this negotiation had different
objectives and ways to get what they wanted out of the proposed joint venture. The Chinese
negotiation style is based on building relationships with people in the negotiation rather then to
hammer out details of an agreement. They feel the beginning stages of the negotiation is the time

The American s have a general distrust with the other side in a negotiation; while the Chinese believe
by building a personal relationship that the parties will work together for success. At this point it
would have been a better idea to save face and agree to the general terms of the letter of intent for the
Americans to show mutual trust with the Chinese. They eventually did sign the letter of intent, but
when publicizing the signing in the United States, no dates were stated. This was sticking with the
Chinese culture with regards to time. In China, they don t believe time is a barrier and don t put much
into deadlines like the Americans. Chinese see the relationship building as their driver of time, rather
then getting tasks accomplished in a short period of time. The Chinese people generally believe that a
considerable amount of time should be invested in establishing a general climate of understanding,
trust, and willingness to help, in matters quite apart from the specific business issues brought to the
table. Producing a satisfactory agreement in as short a time as possible may be one of their least
concerns. Therefore, the non task sounding stage of negotiation often witnesses much time spending
in establishing rapport and getting to know their partners. The Americans grew frustrated with this
approach at the start of the negotiation as well as when Mr. Brickley

Power Struggles In The Tempest
It is said that A power struggle collapses when you withdraw your energy from it. Power struggles
become uninteresting to you when you change your intention of winning to learning about yourself
(Gary Zukav). A comedic play written by William Shakespeare demonstrates the theme struggle for
power that develops throughout the story of The Tempest. The Tempest is defined as an outrageous
storm in which Shakespeare uses to enhance the play. This story is about a person named Prospero and
his daughter who are stuck on an island due to Prospero s brother, Antonio. Antonio took over
Prospero s dukedom of Milan after kicking them out (Act 5) and trying to end their lives. With the
help of good, Lord Gonzalo, they survive. Now, marooned on an island with a malevolent servant
[Caliban] and a spirit helper [Ariel], Prospero continues the practice of magic which will 12 years later
come to haunt his fellow enemies whom receives a gift of Prospero s power in the end. The
outrageous storm (Act 1) is just the beginning of a struggle for power. In The Tempest, Shakespeare
uses conflicts to develop the theme struggle for power. In The Tempest , different conflicts such as

Differences Between Peet s Coffee And Dunkin Doughnuts
My project will be on the differences between Peet s Coffee and Dunkin Doughnuts. I have pondered
about what makes these coffee shops different from one another. During my exploration on Wabash
Avenue, I came to the conclusion that location is important regarding customer population in stores. I
also realized the importance of customers, customer service, store management, and store atmosphere.
Because of my project I got to understand what my topic truly was. At first, I thought that it would be
based completely off of location. Throughout time though, I realized that I would discuss how the
effect of a store s environment depends more on the store s management than the location itself.
Management plays a key role in the store itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wabash is located in South Loop. Wabash surrounds Columbia College and restaurants. In the 1960 s
Wabash was flooded with all sorts of shops and people. In the present time mostly college students
roam on Wabash. In the past there were all ages on Wabash. I have this knowledge from the photos I
discovered at the Harold Washington Library. One particular photo stuck out to me out of the 6 I
observed. The photo was of crowded adults waiting to get into a christmas shop on Wabash. It stuck
out to me because it showed how even back then customers still got excited to buy new products. In
present day we do the same. Waiting for the next updated Iphone or to go black friday shopping to get
the best deals. Which shows how important management can be by, promoting new products to bring
in customers and get business. Peets and Dunkin each have posters to show off their new beverages or
deals that they have in store. For example, Dunkin has a special between 2 and 6pm for 2 dollar iced
drinks. These posters really work because of their location being right where college students are.
College students love their coffee. In other words the location is easy and convenient for them. It s all
about convenience for customers. If the coffee shops were really out of the way and not by campuses.

Of Mice and Men is a novella written by John Steinbeck in 1937. Steinbeck gave us in this story a
vivid view of the style of life after the world crisis in ninety twenty nine; People were trying to survive
by working in ranches. At the time, even Steinbeck himself was a traveler working in ranches. The
story in this novella is about two characters who travel together, which was uncommon at the time.
George and Lennie were totally opposites in character and their size of body and their capacity of

a boyfriend or husband, and throughout the commercial the Old Spice man speaks to the female
audience as if she was part of the commercial. The targeted demographic for the Old Spice body wash
products are composed of young males between the ages of eighteen to twenty five years old. The
company wants their consumers to believe that using their body wash, the consumers can stop
smelling like a woman and smell like a man. In fact, the slogan of the commercial, Smell Like a Man,
Man ( The Man , 00:00:28 00:00:30) implies a man should smell like an undeniable scent of
masculinity, which happens to smell like lime and cedar wood. ( Body Wash and Bar ). The
advertisement hints at the female audience that their boyfriends or husbands are not men until they
used Old Spice as the Old Spice Man stated, But if he stopped using lady scented body wash switched
to Old Spice, he could smell like he s me. ( The Man , 00:00:07 00:00:10). Basically, the Old Spice
Man is saying Old Spice products are the best scent for a man. On the other hand, using logical fallacy
of ad hominem, the Old Spice commercial shifts the audience attention from the argument to the Old
Spice man. The Old Spice man indirectly attacks the female audience s boyfriend or husband s
appearance such as look at your Man. Now back to me. Now back to your man. Now back to me , he

The International Criminal Court (ICC), created in 1998 (Thayer and Ibryamova 2010), is responsible
for investigating and prosecuting the most extreme cases, including crimes against humanity,
aggressive crimes, war crimes, and genocide. The credibility of this institution, however, has been
compromised due to the United States revocation of support and membership. Initially it is important
to recognize the arguments against the United States becoming a member state of the ICC and what
precipitated the U.S. withdrawing its signature from the document that instituted the Court. Once this
has been established, addressing and refuting these objections will develop the arguments in favor of
ICC membership. Finally, this analysis will lead to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response, the U.S. has adopted the American Service Members Protection Act (ASMPA) and
Article 98. Both are meant to prevent United States citizens from being subjected to ICC regulations;
the result is a confusing message implying that citizens of the US are exempt from the same laws and
standards as are expected from the remaining world population. Legislation like the ASMPA and
Article 98 has further deteriorated the image of the US in the international community (Elsea 2002).
The United States decision to not join the ICC is largely contested today; however, many may be
unaware that though its role is currently vehemently debated, the United States was once instrumental
in the creation of the Court. Even prior to World War I, the United States was a proponent of
international courts, as well as was the creator of many standards of global law now incorporated into
the Rome Statute that created the International Criminal Court. Among these contributions are,
Inclusion in the jurisdiction of the Court of crimes committed during internal armed conflicts, and the
drafting of a supplemental code explaining the precise actions and intent that must be proved for each
of the crimes in the Statute... (AMICC

Use Of Hydraulic Systems Used From Ancient Egypt
1. INTRODUCTION
___________________________________________________________________
1.1 Chronology of Hydraulics
A machine could be described as a device which reduces human effort. Machines consist of various
components which perform their intended operations to give the desired result. Engines, Vehicles,
computers etc are all examples of machines we come across in our daily lives. Hydraulic machines are
those devices which use the power of a liquid to perform simple work. These machines are based on
the principle of hydraulics which deals with the mechanical properties of liquids. Properties of fluids
provide the basis of hydraulics. A hydraulic press is one such device which is based on this principle.
The use of hydraulic systems can be traced to the regions of ancient Egypt, China and various other
regions where the principle of hydraulics was used for a variety of purposes but it was only in the
modern era that the concept of hydraulics was put to use for operating machinery and in the
development of hydraulic power networks. Numerous scientists like Blaise Pascal and Benedetto
Castelli contributed enormously in this regard.
1.2 The Science of Hydraulics
The term hydraulics is derived from the Greek words hydro (meaning water) and aulics (meaning
pipes). We come across hydraulic machines like cranes, forklifts etc in our day to day lives.
Aeroplanes and cars use the concept of hydraulics for carrying out certain operations. A hydraulic
system works on the

Reproductive Rights Legislation
In life, there will be difficult decisions that a woman must make, sometimes this includes issues such
as pregnancy and abortion. Originally thought to be a place for a woman and her doctor, politics has
found a way to intervene. This is reproductive rights legislation, in which there are rules concerning
abortion and often barriers such as a wait time and mandatory delays. I will be discussing the history
of reproductive rights legislation. The aspect of reproductive rights legislation in particular I will be
exploring is abortion. I will highlight why abortion is important to society and discuss my personal
opinion of why I am passionate about this issue. I will delve into the key concepts of abortion which

There is pro choice and pro life. Pro life considers abortion unethical while pro choice considers it to
be ethical. Some reasons why it would be labeled unethical is because one may tie their religion to
their ethical standpoint and examine the potential life that a woman is carrying to be pure and destined
for greatness. They may argue that by having an abortion, one is taking away from the world a
potential Ghandi or scientist that may be able to someday create the cure for cancer. They may reason
that by having sex, a woman is already obliged to have a child if she becomes pregnant and having an
abortion is considered to be running away from responsibility. They may also believe that by having
an abortion, one is committing murder. On the other hand, there are people who consider abortion to
be ethical because they reason that regardless of the potential life, it is a woman s body, future, and
ultimately, her choice. They may also reason that a woman should not have the weight of feeling the
obligation to have a child because it is her decision to mold out her own future and not have roles
imposed on her by society. They may also argue that a fetus is not in fact a full human yet; therefore,
does not have a conscious and is analogous to a

Choosing The Choice Of The Right College
Choosing the right college to attend is like choosing which chocolate bar to eat. There is such a variety
of chocolate bars just like there is such a variety of colleges. Some candy bars are salty and sweet
while are others have additional flavors added; the same is true for colleges, there are some colleges
that have unique extra curricular activities while other colleges have very rigorous academic
programs. All of the chocolate bars are good, but in the end, someone is only going to choose one the
bar that they choose is the one that they feel will satisfy their needs and wants the best. In this paper I
will compare the admission requirements, degree requirements, location and demographics of
Oklahoma Baptist University and Colorado State University. Also, I will explain the graduate program
at Colorado State University, and the college I would choose based on all three individual college
studies. Finally, I will include a high school plan that will show the classes I plan on taking in high
school so I can get where I want to go. To begin, the admission requirements for Oklahoma Baptist
University, otherwise known as OBU, are very simple; however, they only accept sixty percent of
applicants ( Oklahoma Baptist University ). This means that students need to excel in the few
admittance requirements, so they can provide themselves with the highest opportunity of getting
accepted. In order to get accepted to OBU, students need to have an ACT composite of at least twenty

Example Of Educational Stratification
Beginning with the definition of stratification as the classification of different social units into classes,
I think the recognition of stratification in our lives is vitally important to be successful. This allows us
to thrive off the successes that result from different types of stratification to learning from our
mistakes and consequences from the disadvantages of stratification. Three examples of stratification
have personally played a major role in the development of my life and who I am today. From the good
to the bad, these examples opened opportunities for me while also teaching me valuable life lessons
from the consequences of stratification. The first example is educational stratification and how a
private school has impacted my life. The second example is being born into the family that I have
today and how their social class has influenced my life. The final example is growing up and living in
the environment and household I did and how that has played a role in my life.
One type of stratification that has influenced my life is educational stratification. I have been very
fortunate to be brought up in a house that gave me the opportunity to experience this. All my life I
have attended private schools because my parents wanted me to have the best quality education
possible. In their eyes, private schooling was the answer. Attending private school, this allowed me to
be exposed to many activities offered at the school from extracurricular activities to being

Knowledge In The Giver
One of the most powerful abstract in the world is knowledge. It can change people s decisions and the
way they look at other people and how they view life. In the novel, The Giver, by Lois Lowry, the
author makes it clear that knowledge has the power to change dreams, opinions, and fears.
Knowledge has the power to change people s dreams. For example, There s much more. There s all
that goes beyond all that is Elsewhere and all that goes back, and back, and back. I received all of
those, when I was selected. And here in this room, all alone, I re experience them again and again. It is
how wisdom comes. And how we shape our future (71). Jonas and The Giver know that Elsewhere is
a very important place. This is important because Jonas and the giver have a dream of making a plan

  • 2. The Marketing Environment And Marketing Mix Of A Firm In this report, I have used marketing concepts to analyze the marketing environment and marketing mix of a firm, which has achieved superior performance. I have chosen one of the most famous and oldest retailer in the UK, Marks Spencer. Marks Spencer is one of the best well known British department stores. It was founded by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in 1884 (M S, 2014). It started as a market stall at Kirkgate Market in Leeds. Nowadays, M S has transformed to an international multi channel retailer with 798 stores in UK and 455 international stores (M S, 2014). According to its annual report this year, it has earned a total revenue of £10.3 billions over the last year. (M S, 2014) Basically Marks Spencer has divided its ... For example under this plan, M S has developed a programme that trains suppliers with their rights, as well as support some disadvantaged supply chain workers. With the help of Plan A, M S has established a good relationship with their suppliers and also earn them a place of high rated ethical trading company. Maintaining good relationship with the suppliers is very important. If one of the suppliers suddenly refuses to supply material to M S, they can find another suppliers immediately. Therefore M S has never failed on the supply of materials. ➢ Customers M S mainly target the consumer market rather than business and government market. The objective of M S is not only maximizing their profit, but also increase customer satisfaction and their loyalty. M S target their customers on the upper class of the society that means people with higher income, and also healthy eaters in the society. Their target customers mostly aim at improving their quality of lives, concerning about the product quality rather than prices. • 3. Essay about The Beatles 1. Comparison of Instrumentation In song #1, You ve Got To Hide Your Love Away, features both John Lennon and Paul McCartney on the acoustic rhythm guitar, George Harrison on the acoustic lead guitar, Ringo Starr circulates between the tambourine, shaker, and maracas. Johnnie Scott plays the tenor and alto flutes (MacDonald, 148). In song #2, I m Down, has a little different setup on instrumentation with McCartney on the electric bass, Lennon on the electric guitar, organ, Harrison on lead Electric Guitar, and Starr on the drums, bongos. (MacDonald, 148). The resemblance for song #1 and #2 is that both use guitars but take note that McCartney switches from acoustic guitar to the bass. There are more differences than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chuck Berry was perhaps the most fundamental progenitor of the Beatles sound, (www.liverpoolcityportal.co.uk/beatle/beatles_influences[ 0], April 13th, 2013). The solo s of electric guitar can be heard in both Berry s Johnny B Goode and I m Down. Between both Beatles songs the differences seem to override the similarities. They both have a completely different feel. One screaming rock n roll and the other acoustic folk. The influences of each song clearly point this out. Bob Dylan an acoustic player and Little Richard a Rock N Roll player are two completely different sounding musicians. 3. Discussion of the Lyrics The lyrics of song #1 have a poetic feel to them. You ve got to hide your love away, can be categorized as (2) sexuality or (8) abstract or poetic image making. The sexuality can be seen within the lyrics and even in the title of the song. Homosexuality is what the song is about when reading the lyrics carefully. Almost like a picture story you can imagine a gay individual who has to had his love and everywhere people stare at hime making the person feel two foot small. After understanding the deep meaning of the song it becomes more personal and beautiful. That is where an abstract and poetic image is made. The lyrics of song #2, I m down, can be categorized as (3) alienation. The lyrics are very repetitive, repeating I m down over and over again. The lyrics make someone feel estranged or outcasted. How can you laugh when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Dr. Martin Luther King s Principles Of Nonviolence Dr. Martin Luther King s philosophy showed not only Americans but humans in general the necessity to fight for equality and real freedom without hurting those who oppose our points of view. Dr. King s Six Principles of Nonviolence have become a bible for those fighting for the most just causes in the planet and years after his dead his knowledge and ideals still inspiring people from different races, religions and cultures. In Venezuela a man called Leopoldo Lopez is a living example of the validity Dr. King s values have in our time. Lopez was the head of a movement to ask for the resignation of Venezuela s dictator Nicolas Maduro through pacific demonstrations on the street all over the country. Venezuelans response to Lopez s call was tremendous and thousands of people went out to the streets to reestablish the democracy and the dignity of a country where toilet paper, milk, diapers and other basic goods are a privilege. Maduro s forces tried to silent the people by using violence. The final results were 43 demonstrators dead, thousands injured and around 1500 arrested including Lopez. But Lopez arrest was not a normal one. After the first demonstration in Caracas, the government issued an order to detain Lopez. It was not the first time the party in power tried to silent Lopez, he has been a victim of multiple accusations including an order to restrict his right to be elected in any political position. Lopez decided to turn himself in to the authorities in front ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Act 1 Scene 5 Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Richard s heart fluttered in relief when he heard Lexi s familiar voice, and he fixated his gaze on the silhouette that appeared at the second floor window, before the Heiress herself appeared. The nerves that had strained his mind and body all day, loosened, and he began to shake at the sight of Lexi, proof his lover was safe. It wasn t over yet, and the knowledge that Karl Williams was aware of their intent just how aware, Richard still wasn t cognisant of meant his senses remained heightened as his attention moved from her to the vine. Pneumococcal/Streptococcus Pneumoniae Question 1: The pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, and treatment of pneumococcal lobar pneumonia and bronchopneumonia Pneumococcal Lobar pneumonia Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia is a disease that generally infects the entire lungs. According to Kadioglu (290), bacteria that are known as streptococcus pneumoniae, also referred to as pneumococcus, cause the infection. The bacteria are a coccus that is located in pairs or small chains. Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia encompasses a large section of a lobe or the whole lobe of the lung. Moreover, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia has reduced its effects due to quick response to the treatment methods, although this disease is still a large menace in the developed nations. In the developing nations, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia is a major cause of mortality. Similarly, this illness mostly affects young people and middle aged adults; it rarely infects babies and old individuals. In addition, pneumococcal lobar pneumonia has been commonly analyzed to be affecting men more than women. People who drink alcohol and use tobacco products are also highly susceptible to lobar pneumonia. Pneumococcal lobar pneumonia generally infects the upper section of the respiratory system among adults and children and has a possibility of diffusing to blood, entire lung, internal ear, or the nervous system. The disease appears after an individual has been exposed to cold or following a previous history of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Liberation Theology Essay Introduction According to Enns (2008), liberation theology attempts to infer the holy writ through the plight of the poor. This movement originated from South America in the early 1950s when Marxism was the most popular theory among the poor. It was a response to the ill treatment and poverty facing the ordinary people. It dealt with the issue of distribution of wealth among people in order to upgrade the economic status in life. This movement had strong Romanian Catholic roots bolstered in Colombia in 1968 at a conference where, the bishops proposed a merger between the Karl Marx teachings with those of Jesus Christ. Liberation theology support was immense but various critiques across the religious framework (Novak, 1991). This movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, emergence of negative results due to black liberation was evident. This is because the theory tends to separate the black and white Christian communities thus enhancing racism which is not religious or biblical. By critically analysing the biblical way of life, a level of unity among the people who share the same doctrine of Christ is expected. Black Liberation Theology initially intended to assist the black community, but in reality it ended up hurting the more. It promoted negative values for instance: racial tension, victimization, and Marxism ultimately leading to more oppression. Latin American Liberation Theology The liberation theory originally developed from ideologies and activities instigated by the Catholic missionaries in the colonial Latin America. Latin American Liberation Theology says that there is oppression and exploitation of poor people by the rich capitalist nations. The Latin people developed the theology by radical interpretation of the bible biased to the people. The inclusion of armed pastors was one of the characteristics that brought this movement in the limelight. This yearning for change got spurred by armed revolution. This is why; so many churches had people carrying guns and other weapons to shoe how they were fighting for their liberation. English Controlled Assessment Essay English Controlled Assessment The English language, although used by almost all across the United Kingdom, has been mutated and altered in so many ways that sometimes we cannot even understand it ourselves. One of the main factors that affects our understanding of the language is one s regional accent. Although most words and phrases will be comprehensible some phonetics may have changed so much that all we can do is hope that the context of what has been said makes sense in order for us to fill in the gaps . PAYE pay as you earn, and CT corporation tax. By using his semantic field when he talks to his colleagues, he can distance himself from people who do not understand technical terms. The largest expansion and introduction of new technology has been in the last decade. Companies and organizations are replacing employees with technology. It can be seen and heard throughout major and minor companies and organizations throughout the United States. A prime example of technology changing an entire market is within the travel agency field. Before the Internet and new technology, if one wanted to book a trip or flight they would have to go into a physical store and talk with a human that would do all the paperwork necessary to purchase a trip. This was difficult because it needed to be in the exact same spot for all calculations since a group member needed to hold it, the proctor did move slightly throwing off the numbers only a few degrees. The difficulties in this project was obtaining the data from the ground because it was difficult to get underneath the protractor to see the angle; someone was on the ground looking up at the building leaving room for interpretation of the angle measure. This process could have been done differently by choosing a spot with a lower vantage point. • 29. Essay about The United States and The International... The International Criminal Court (ICC), created in 1998 (Thayer and Ibryamova 2010), is responsible for investigating and prosecuting the most extreme cases, including crimes against humanity, aggressive crimes, war crimes, and genocide. The credibility of this institution, however, has been compromised due to the United States revocation of support and membership. Initially it is important to recognize the arguments against the United States becoming a member state of the ICC and what precipitated the U.S. withdrawing its signature from the document that instituted the Court. Once this has been established, addressing and refuting these objections will develop the arguments in favor of ICC membership. Finally, this analysis will lead to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In response, the U.S. has adopted the American Service Members Protection Act (ASMPA) and Article 98. Both are meant to prevent United States citizens from being subjected to ICC regulations; the result is a confusing message implying that citizens of the US are exempt from the same laws and standards as are expected from the remaining world population. Legislation like the ASMPA and Article 98 has further deteriorated the image of the US in the international community (Elsea 2002). The United States decision to not join the ICC is largely contested today; however, many may be unaware that though its role is currently vehemently debated, the United States was once instrumental in the creation of the Court. Even prior to World War I, the United States was a proponent of international courts, as well as was the creator of many standards of global law now incorporated into the Rome Statute that created the International Criminal Court. Among these contributions are, Inclusion in the jurisdiction of the Court of crimes committed during internal armed conflicts, and the drafting of a supplemental code explaining the precise actions and intent that must be proved for each of the crimes in the Statute... • 30. Use Of Hydraulic Systems Used From Ancient Egypt 1. INTRODUCTION ___________________________________________________________________ 1.1 Chronology of Hydraulics A machine could be described as a device which reduces human effort. Machines consist of various components which perform their intended operations to give the desired result. Engines, Vehicles, computers etc are all examples of machines we come across in our daily lives. Hydraulic machines are those devices which use the power of a liquid to perform simple work. These machines are based on the principle of hydraulics which deals with the mechanical properties of liquids. Properties of fluids provide the basis of hydraulics. A hydraulic press is one such device which is based on this principle. The use of hydraulic systems can be traced to the regions of ancient Egypt, China and various other regions where the principle of hydraulics was used for a variety of purposes but it was only in the modern era that the concept of hydraulics was put to use for operating machinery and in the development of hydraulic power networks. Numerous scientists like Blaise Pascal and Benedetto Castelli contributed enormously in this regard. 1.2 The Science of Hydraulics The term hydraulics is derived from the Greek words hydro (meaning water) and aulics (meaning pipes). We come across hydraulic machines like cranes, forklifts etc in our day to day lives. Aeroplanes and cars use the concept of hydraulics for carrying out certain operations. A hydraulic system works on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Reproductive Rights Legislation In life, there will be difficult decisions that a woman must make, sometimes this includes issues such as pregnancy and abortion. Originally thought to be a place for a woman and her doctor, politics has found a way to intervene. This is reproductive rights legislation, in which there are rules concerning abortion and often barriers such as a wait time and mandatory delays. I will be discussing the history of reproductive rights legislation. The aspect of reproductive rights legislation in particular I will be exploring is abortion. I will highlight why abortion is important to society and discuss my personal opinion of why I am passionate about this issue. I will delve into the key concepts of abortion which include pro life and pro choice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is pro choice and pro life. Pro life considers abortion unethical while pro choice considers it to be ethical. Some reasons why it would be labeled unethical is because one may tie their religion to their ethical standpoint and examine the potential life that a woman is carrying to be pure and destined for greatness. They may argue that by having an abortion, one is taking away from the world a potential Ghandi or scientist that may be able to someday create the cure for cancer. They may reason that by having sex, a woman is already obliged to have a child if she becomes pregnant and having an abortion is considered to be running away from responsibility. They may also believe that by having an abortion, one is committing murder. On the other hand, there are people who consider abortion to be ethical because they reason that regardless of the potential life, it is a woman s body, future, and ultimately, her choice. They may also reason that a woman should not have the weight of feeling the obligation to have a child because it is her decision to mold out her own future and not have roles imposed on her by society. They may also argue that a fetus is not in fact a full human yet; therefore, does not have a conscious and is analogous to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Choosing The Choice Of The Right College Choosing the right college to attend is like choosing which chocolate bar to eat. There is such a variety of chocolate bars just like there is such a variety of colleges. Some candy bars are salty and sweet while are others have additional flavors added; the same is true for colleges, there are some colleges that have unique extra curricular activities while other colleges have very rigorous academic programs. All of the chocolate bars are good, but in the end, someone is only going to choose one the bar that they choose is the one that they feel will satisfy their needs and wants the best. In this paper I will compare the admission requirements, degree requirements, location and demographics of Oklahoma Baptist University and Colorado State University. Also, I will explain the graduate program at Colorado State University, and the college I would choose based on all three individual college studies. Finally, I will include a high school plan that will show the classes I plan on taking in high school so I can get where I want to go. To begin, the admission requirements for Oklahoma Baptist University, otherwise known as OBU, are very simple; however, they only accept sixty percent of applicants ( Oklahoma Baptist University ). This means that students need to excel in the few admittance requirements, so they can provide themselves with the highest opportunity of getting accepted. In order to get accepted to OBU, students need to have an ACT composite of at least twenty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This allows us to thrive off the successes that result from different types of stratification to learning from our mistakes and consequences from the disadvantages of stratification. Three examples of stratification have personally played a major role in the development of my life and who I am today. From the good to the bad, these examples opened opportunities for me while also teaching me valuable life lessons from the consequences of stratification. The first example is educational stratification and how a private school has impacted my life. In the novel, The Giver, by Lois Lowry, the author makes it clear that knowledge has the power to change dreams, opinions, and fears. Knowledge has the power to change people s dreams. For example, There s much more. There s all that goes beyond all that is Elsewhere and all that goes back, and back, and back. I received all of those, when I was selected. And here in this room, all alone, I re experience them again and again. It is how wisdom comes. And how we shape our future (71). Jonas and The Giver know that Elsewhere is a very important place.
