2. Ion Creangă (1 March 1837,
Humulești - 31 December
1889, Iași) was one of the
most important writers in
Romania, known for his
wonderful
fairy-tales
and
stories. He is studied by pupils
and highly appreciated for his
autobiography
“Childhood
Memories” – a classic in the
Romanian literature.
He was also a deacon at “The 40
Saints” Church in Iasi.

3. Mihai Eminescu

Mihai Eminescu (15 January 1850,
Botoșani - June 1889, Bucharest) is
a poet, prose writer and journalist,
considered the most important
poetic voice in the Romanian
literature. He was influenced by the
European Romanticism.

His taste for the past and national
history, his melancholic view of
childhood, the return to nature
happened at a time when the
European literature discovered the
modernist view through Charles
Baudelaire and Stephane Mallarme.

4. Mihai Sadoveanu





Mihail Sadoveanu (5 November 1880,
Pașcani - 19 October 1961, VânătoriNeamț) is a writer, story teller, novelist,
member of the Academy and also
political person.
He is considered one of the most
important Romanian writers of the XXth
century.
His work can be described as the first
step of the “Seedsman” movement, with
mytho-symbolic characteristics as well
as influenced by the Socialist Realism.
He is the co-author of a cultural
magazine, “Literary Notes”, which was
published in Iasi.
In 1926 he represents The Romanian
Writers Society at the Berlin Congress.

5. ION LUCA CARAGIALE


named I. L. Caragiale, in his memory.

He is a playwright, writer, poet, theatre
director, politic commenter and
journalist.

He is considered the greatest
Romanian playwright.

He was included as a member of the
Romanian Academy.
