Mandela Long Walk To Freedom Essay
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom was a film directed by Justin
Chadwick about the life of Nelson Mandela and a revolution he led Anti Apartheid Movement.
The movie was released on November 28, 2013, a week before Mandela s death . It was based on
Mandela s autobiography Long Walk to Freedom . The film includes many factual incidents which
took place in South Africaduring that time period. The movie shows most of the trivial details and
the oppressed people s suffering. Overall, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is a movie that
accurately depicts the events that occurred at the time.
The movie was inspired by and based on Mandela s autobiography which shows that it was accurate
since he was the one writing about his own life and his own actions. In the autobiography, Mandela

The movie depicted an extremely impactful event in history to not just millions of South
Africans, but also many people around the world. Many people including Mandela had went
through a lot of pain and misery in order to end the Apartheid. His struggle did not go without
change, Mandela describes his journey as a Long Walk to Freedom, which shows that even
though it was long, he still got to where he wanted to be after all. He finally accomplished his
purpose and goal in life. I chose this movie because I remember how many people were affected
by his death and saw him on the news a lot for a while, but I never knew why he was such a
respected man. I knew about the Apartheid, but I did not know what role he played in it. After
viewing the movie and seeing the obstacles he overcame and the hardship he endured, I was able
to understand why so many people looked up to him. Mandela s story should be something people
are educated about because he played a significant part in changing history and making the world a
better place by spreading peace and creating an equal

Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IEA)
Today, there are many students who receive special services; therefore, as an educator it will be
important to learn more about a student s disability or accommodations to providing the proper
instructional environment that will meet the needs of the student. As educators, communication
among all team members must be communicated effectively when it involves working with
students who qualify for special educationservices. When inconsistencies and poor lack of
miscommunication or negligence on behalf of educators who fail to meet the accommodations or
settings of students with special services, severe consequences may result for failure to comply
with federal laws under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It is the

Abstract. The Playfair cipher is a manual symmetric encryption technique and was the first literal
digraph substitution cipher. The cryptanalysis of the Playfair cipher is also aided by the fact
that a diagram and its reverse will encrypt in a similar fashion. The paper proposes to encrypt
/decrypt by choosing 216 ASCII characters out of 256 ASCII characters. The 216 characters
includes the most frequently popularly usable characters like 26 upper lower case alphabets, 10
numerals and 154 most commonly used special characters of ASCII character set. 40 special
characters that are less frequently used are exempted. 2D Playfair cipher is a case sensitive
cipher, as it requires only 26 alphabets rather than 52 alphabets (including lower and upper case
both). The theme of this paper is to provide security for the data that contains a wider coverage of
alphabets numerals and special characters in compare to 2D playfair cipher.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Herpes Viruses
Etiology
To start off my paper, I want to make something clear. There are two types of herpes viruses. HSV
1 is the type that usually causes cold sores or fever blisters around your mouth. HSV 2 is the type
that commonly causes genital herpes. The virus spreads through sexual contact and skin to skin
contact. HSV 2 is very common and highly contagious, whether or not you have an open sore
(Aurelius, p. 3).
Genital Herpes is more commonly caused by HSV 2 but is known to be caused by HSV 1. Oral
Herpes is known to be caused by both variations of the virus but most commonly by HSV 1.
Symptoms are similar to Genital Herpes and cases of Facial Herpes. For example, lesions on the
cheeks or other area of the face have been recorded, though are a ... Show more content on

This sexually transmitted disease is more likely to go from men to women, than women to men.
Having multiple sexual partners are raise the risk factors as well. Each sexual partner that is
engaged with raises your risk for being exposed to any sexually transmitted disease.
Modes of Transmission
HSV 1 is usually passed from person to person by kissing, or having contact with and infected
persons sore. HSV 1 can also spread from the mouth to the genitals during oral sex (fellatio,
cunnilingus, analingus). If this happens, the strain can change and become a case of genital
herpes. HSV 2 is most often passed by vaginal sex and anal sex. Although, just as HSV 1 can
infect the genitals and cause genital herpes, HSV 2 can pass from one person s genitals to another
person s mouth, resulting in oral herpes (Barnabas, para 3).
HSV 2 cannot survive long on a non living surface, so there is no real risk of getting it from a
surface. Herpes is most commonly spread by direct skin to skin contact. Unlike a flu virus that
you can get through the air, herpes spreads by direct contact, that is, directly from the site of
infection to the site of contact. For example, if you have a cold sore and kiss someone, you can
transfer the virus to their mouth. Similarly, if you have active genital herpes and have vaginal or
anal intercourse, you can give your partner genital herpes. Finally, if you have

Television Violence
Who should be responsible for Television Violence?
Composition II
Who should be responsible for Television Violence? Can we afford to continue ignoring the
connection between television violence and the increase in mass murders? The answer is no. We
have to take a stance now and fight for stricter regulations by the government and the Federal
Communications Committee (FCC). Televisionhas been associated with influencing controversial
acts since the beginning of its creation. One of the most recent acts that television is being blamed
for is the violence associated Columbine High School murders in 1999. Many adults enjoy the

This works because it helps eliminate the peer pressure amongst children who can and cannot
watch certain shows. The second half to the village theory is the way government handles
certain regulations. Currently the government assigns the FCC to regulate all media matters.
The FCC enforces laws prohibiting the airing of obscene programming at any time and the
airing of indecent programming or profane language during certain hours. The FCC also has the
ability to revoke a station license, impose a monetary forfeiture or issue a warning if any station
violates the law. However this is limited to nudity and foul language. Congress has not given the
FCC power to regulate violence. So, the message is it s more important to bleep foul language
or run to commercial if there is a wardrobe malfunction but the research that shows violence is
link to aggression in children sends no red flag. Congress has the most influence so it is time for
them to become more aggressive in regulating the time and amount of violence that currently airs.
This was stated very clearly by the West Virginia, Senator Jay Rockefeller, Congress, has not done
enough to protect children and families from the kind of violence that occurred on Dec. 14 at
Sandy Hook elementary in Connecticut. (Plummer, 2012, Para. 11) The senator stresses many
points in an interview on December 20, 2012 on the importance and responsibility that Congress

How St. Thomas Aquinas s Teachings Have Affected Me
How St. Thomas Aquinas s Teachings have Affected Me St. Thomas Aquinas was one of the most
profound and prolific writers of his time, and his teachings I feel continue to resonate today. In fact,
one of his teachers, St. Albert the Great, once said of him, We call this young man a dumb ox, but
his bellowing in doctrine will one day resound throughout the world. This only understates the effect
this one man has had through the legacy he left behind. His works continue to inspire many, myself
included. This man could be describes as a giant among men, for the impact he has had on the world
that continues over seven hundred years after his death. St. Thomas Aquinashas influenced my
personal morals and ethics through his teachings on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
St. Thomas Aquinas further explains something, that I feel is very important to understand in terms
of one s morality. He says, while all human beings lead their lives towards the ultimate end, being
God, it is how one will walk that path that will determine our eternal life. In this path, he refers to
the importance of prudence. For it is prudence that allows one to choose the path that is right
before God. Prudence, can therefore be described as one of the most important virtues one can
have according to Thomas Aquinas. Having researched his works and his views on prudence, I
now feel it is important to re evaluate my own moral living, in order to place a much greater
emphasis on prudent living as it allows one to come closer to God and catch glimpses of His
perfection. Therefore, I feel one of the most significant ways St. Thomas Aquinas has bettered my
understanding of moral and ethical living, is through the importance of prudence, a virtue he
obviously held in high regard. The second way by which St. Thomas Aquinas has influenced my
understanding of moral and ethical living is through his teachings on temperance. Temperance is
to seek pleasure rationally as Aquinas puts it. Not only does he speak much about this virtue in
moral living, but he certainly lived it out. In his time in school, he was teased by his classmates,
being called a dumb ox, for his seemingly shy and bashful disposition. However, he was in

The purpose of this memo is to explain the results of our variance analysis. We will discuss the
implications of each variance in relation to Dessert Valley s Premium Pale Ale and Blonde Lager.
A.Static budget variance analysis
Static budget variances provide an overall picture of whether planned results were achieved, and
they are a useful starting point for investigating sales revenue and fixed costs. However, static
budget variances make it difficult to determine whether a variance is due to a change in expected
volume or to other aspects of performance. Premium Pale Ale
Analysis shows an overall unfavourable result driven from an increase in variable costs driven
from an increase in quantity sold versus what was budgeted.

No orders should be received without reviewing the hard copies of the applicable transactions.
New vendors should be approved by Tim before being entered into the system.
Inventory counts should be done bi monthly by two staff who are not responsible for the ordering.
Results of both counts should be verified for accuracy.
An investigation should be done to see if there is any relationship between Chad and Talon Food

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integration
Generally, the disparity implies inconsistency of the development potentials or rates of certain
system components. Uneven socio economic development in turn is seen as an objective basis for
the emergence of various kinds of imbalances. Moreover, failures and weaknesses of the economic
policy, of the strategy and of the reform process also can be identified as its subjective factors.
Studies of the inter regional differences dynamics are based on the growth models, including the
various factors such as the human capital development, the production structure, migration

The problem of imbalances comes to the fore, since weaker in the economic context States

circumstances, the elimination of imbalances is an objective necessity the economy and society,

My High School Career
Have I grown and developed over the three years of my high school career? The answer to this
question is a definitive yes. My life has been an amazing journey of physical, mental, and spiritual
growth. My three years of high school education thus far have been extremely interesting and
challenging. I learned important skills through my school involvement. Specifically, I practiced
creativity and become a more understanding person. Among academic subjects, I gravitate to
chemistry since I enjoyed learningabout different chemicals and their interactions. I love chemistry.
It interests me to no end. Therefore, my appreciation for chemistry has influenced my career
choices.
After high school, I will be attending the University of Maryland Baltimore County and be
majoring in Urology. I believe this is an excellent field for me, not only because I love the
subject, but also because I have an inclination for science and math. Urology is an exciting and
ever changing discipline in our world today. An especially fascinating aspect of this profession is
the wide spectrum of opportunities available. With such a versatile degree as a Doctor of Urology,
the possibilities for my future are exciting. However, I think that before a career is even considered,
one must explore his motivations.
In my household, education and perseverance were highly valued. The world I originate from has

Henry Rifle Essay
The Henry Lever Action Rifle may not have been the first lever action built and used but it was
the most practical and is one of the most iconic rifles of all time. This amazing rifle was used by
wealthier men, men on the homefront, in the Civil War, saw a little time in the indian wars, and
later on in the old west. The Henry Riflewas built in 1860 by Benjamin Tyler Henry. The rifle
works by first cocking the hammer back halfway to start the process, in many lever actions this
was the only safety, then load in your ammunition through the side or bottom of the receiver. As
you load the ammunition into the receiver it goes down through a tube on the bottom of the
barrel, inside the fore stock. When the ammunition goes through the fore stock it presses on a
spring, once you have all 16 17 rounds in the rifle you then press down on the lever or cock it.

The Making Of Space Race And Place Analysis
Going back to the original question, what is considered graffiti? McAuliffe and Iveson proposed
an idea, asking whether graffiti is still graffiti if it is taken from its illegal context on the walls
of the city and placed in a gallery (130). In The Making of Space, Race and Place by Maggie
Dickinson, Sandra Fabara, a writer who was featured in the Brooklyn Museum exhibit, answered
this question. Fabara argued that The pieces in galleries cease to be graffitibecause they have been
removed from the cultural context that gives graffiti a reason for being, a voice from the ghetto.
Authentic graffiti cannot exist in the sanctuary provided by the galleries and museums (39). She is

How Clinics Can Be Integrated Into The Curriculum
Below is a description of how clinics can be integrated into the curriculum in a manner consistent
with the principles enunciated above. A. LAW CENTER I Law Center I would not begin until the
second semester of the first year. In the first semester, as noted above, students would complete
practical skills instruction in doctrinal courses and the cross curricular hypothetical, which would
give students a foundation of experience that could be refined in the first clinical course. For
example, in the first semester, students would perform an initial client interview, conduct book
and electronic research, and draft a predictive memorandum, client letter, and complaint. At the
beginning of the second semester of the first year, a select group of high performing students
would be chosen to participate in Law Center I, and assignments would be consistent with the
assignments completed in the first semester. Thus, in Law Center I, students would interview and
screen potential clients, and perform research. In doing so, Law Center I provides students with
the opportunity to transfer skills learned in the prior semester to a new legal context and on
behalf of a real client. This approach would be followed in each subsequent semester, with
students building upon the skills acquired in doctrinal and skills courses, and faculty gradually
increasing the complexity of work and level of responsibility. B. LAW CENTER II Law Center II,

J.K. Rowling s Use of Literary Devices to Teach Skepticism...
J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter series has become one of the most popular children s series in the
world over the past decade. Through these books children and young adults alike have delved into
a fantastical world in which they explored the problems that their protagonist, Harry Potter, has
faced. In Harry Potterand the Half Blood Prince, the sixth book of the Harry Potterseries, Harry
dealt with the challenge of proving to his peers and professors that Draco Malfoy and Severus
Snape were no longer trustworthy. Even so, Harry failed to realize that the author of the notes in

Harry s point of view on the Ministry s actions shows the audience that the Ministry is continuing
to lose credibility from Harry s perspective. The Ministry s lack of credibility as illustrated
through Harry s point of view is a theme Rowling repeats in the Harry Potter series. It is Rowling
s style to create controversy in the plot so she can use Harry to address such conflict and in turn
teach the readers how to confront injustice in their own world.
An example of how Rowling utilizes Harry s point of view to face immorality is when Harry
questions Scrimgeour on the undeserved arrest of Stan Shunpike. In response to Harry s
confrontation, Scrimgeour responds, These are dangerous times, and certain measures need to
be taken. You are sixteen years old (346). Scrimgeour s retort is used to show the perception of
children being too young to understand adults actions. However, the audience is aware of Harry
s point of view on Stan s arrest and knows that Harry has made a logical argument on why his
arrest was unjust. Rowling makes Harry seem well informed on Stan Shunpike s arrest in order
to appeal to the audience s ethos. Thus, because Harry is a credible source the audience agrees
with Harry s opinion. In this way, Rowling uses Harry s point of view to show readers that young
people can question authority and should not be passive when figures of authority are depraved. In
short, Rowling is teaching social responsibility.

Determination means a firm or fixed intention to achieve a desired end. The word determination is

are used to help people better understand a word. The synonyms for determination include
resolution, decisiveness, and persistency. Hesitation, indecision, and irresoluteness are antonyms to

Though I remained closely connected to the Office of Admissions during my time in CNS, I

Meat Is The Staple Of The American Diet
Meat has become a staple in the American diet. According to an article published by
NPR, an average American was eating 207.7 pounds of meat per year in 2010 (Barclay). After
research came to light linking cholesterol and saturated fat found in meat products to heart disease,
new food and health guidelines have suggested lowering the amount of meat eaten in the average
diet. The new USDA food guidelines, MyPlate, were formed in 2010 and propose eating 5 ВЅ oz.
of protein foods a day for a basic 2,000 calorie diet. In their description of what type of protein
foods to eat, they promote more fish consumption, varying protein sources to include plant based
proteins, and keeping meat and poultry portions small and lean. While this is an improvement from
past food guidelines, it is not enough. The USDA is continuing to do
Americans a disservice by promoting meat consumption in general because it leads to serious health
problems, cruelty to animals, and environmental degradation.
One of the largest, most studied, and tangible arguments against eating meat is the negative health
effects it has on the human body. Its consumption has been linked to obesity, cancer, and many
organ disorders. According to a study published in the International Journal of
Obesity, there is a positive association between meat consumption and obesity (Wang and

Advantages Of Nationalisation In Business
For years, nationalisation has been a prohibited subject within British economies and politics.
However, Jeremy Corbyn s economic project has been concentrated around nationalisation. One of
Corbyn s arguments has been that, national ownership of particular businesses can, promote long
term development of the economy, help to acquire a renovating infrastructure and also provide a
quality health and social care system. Furthermore, with the use of examples from around the
world, Corbyn attempts to illustrate that the state is an ineffective manager, and also indicate the
positive contributions of national ownership. Furthermore, in the UK, national state ownership has
previously been too centralised, with authority in the hands of a private and commercial elite,
which promotes Adam Smiths ideology. This is portrayed when he said, Avarice overrates the
difference between poverty and riches: ambition, that between a private and a public station... ,
demonstrating that entrepreneurs drive economies and that their profits are a reward for their own
risk, with this being the Just World theory. In addition, the ideology of Freidrich A. Hayek is also
supported by this, and is illustrated when he said, The more the state plans the more difficult
planning is for the individual , indicating that the state is exploiting and alienating the population of
the UK. Therefore, to improve national ownership in the UK, measures have to be taken in order to

Server Farm Design (Data Center) Since the data center has several servers that include critical
data, including research, studies, patents, and experiments, I have decided keep the data center
inside the internal network, so there is no direct interface with internet. The data center will be

First, it supports up to 1Gbps, which is a fair speed for the users. Second, the distance does not
matter because all the departments workstations will connect to the switch that is in the same
building. For the cabling between the access and distribution layer, I have decided to use Multi
Mode Fiber (MMF) for many reasons. First, there is huge amount of data coming from the
switches in the access layer to the 3 layer switch in the distribution layer, and the MMF cable can
deal with heavy traffic data. Second, since that MMF speed is 10Gbps, that makes the 3 layer
switch receive and send the data faster to the switches in the access layer. Third, the distance
between the switches in the access layer and the 3 layer switches in the distribution layer is less
than 2 km. For the core layer, I have decided to

Outline For The Catcher In The Rye
At the beginning of the story, Holden is introduced as an apathetic person. He has failed four out
of five of his classes and has received a notice that he is being expelled at Pencey Prep school in
Agerstown, Pennsylvania. Holden was scheduled to return home on a Wednesday, so he
decided to go and visit Mr. Spencer, his history teacher, to say his goodbye. Mr. Spencer advises
Holden to find direction in his life, which got Holden annoyed and dismissed everything
Mr.Spencer has said. Holden returns to his dormitory, where he finds his neighbor, Robert
Ackley and Ward Stradlater, a arrogant and self centered slob. Stradlater then asks Holden to
write an English paper for him, while he prepares for his date with Jane Gallagher, a girl whom
Holden has a crush on and used to date. When Stradlater returns, Holden asks Stradlater if he
tried any sexual act with Jane. Stradlater tease Holden by indicating that he might have had sex
with her, which result Holden becoming angry and punching Stradlater. That night Holden decide
to leave Pencey and return to New York, where he would stay in a hotel instead of going home.
When Holden arrives at the Edmont Hotel, Holden sees a transvestite and a couple who spits

Film Analysis Of Rear Window By William Hitchcock
Rear Window has unique filmography. Emphasising the idea of voyeurism and watching others.
Observing the first scene instead of beholding the main character or even side characters, you
recognize the building of the various apartments and the courtyard and then you meet Jeff. Jeff is
a broken man, he lays down sweating, asleep on a chair. But you only catch a glimpse of Jeff, he
is not important instead the film focuses on the people in the apartments nearby in the rest of the
film he will watch out his window. Through this film, you observe this evolution of the characters
through the lens of this beautifully shot film made by the sets and background characters. Without
sets, this film would not be exactly what it is. This story is told through its images, music and
background characters as much if more than its lead. This is a movie about watching movies and
as an audience member, you re watching Jeff watches his neighbors. Hitchcock bluntly tells us we
are watching a film. An enormous amount of the film is at night similar to a dark theater this is
shown in. Hitchcock shows the audience us through Jeff. By focusing on the community and the
environment in the film before you even meet Jeff present the theme of the film. By showing the
composer shaving, the couple who sleeps outside to avoid the heat, the dancer stretching before
you view Jeff cast and his room. You distinguish how he lives his life in the opening scene and his
room. True you discover, he is a

Example Of Case Study Oedema
Outline of case and Objectives
The case that this literature review deals with is the management of a 44 year old female patient
presenting with signs and symptoms of pulmonary oedema. She has a cardiac history of having
angina and left sided heart failure. She had also experienced pulmonary oedema about 2 months
prior to this ambulance call out and while she was being treated in hospital for the pulmonary
oedema she had a pleural tap inserted as she presented with a pleural effusion. Chronic medications
prescribed to this patient are isordil, asprin (300mg daily) and Lasix (to which she occasionally
defaults off of).
Pulmonary oedema results when there is an accumulation of excess fluid in the interstitial and
alveolar spaces of the lung that make up the extravascular compartment of the lungs. Pulmonary
oedema can be classified as either cardiogenic pulmonary oedema or non cardiogenic pulmonary
oedema, depending on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

study that I found relevant was the comparison of all three drugs used in the treatment of
pulmonary oedema namely nitroglycerine, morphine sulphate and furosemide. In this study the

oedema and classed tem into different groups, depending on which drug protocol they received.

Verkerk s FMR1 Genetic Disorder
INTRODUCTION
Verkerk discovered the fragile X mental retardation 1 (FMR1) gene in 1991, in individuals with a
chromosomal instability at the 5 untranslated exon 1 on the long arm of the X chromosome
(Xq27.3), a location closely related to autoimmunity (Verkerk et al., 1991). The position of this
unstable region in a non coding exon is a typical trait shared by other nucleotide repeat disorders,
even though the reason of such association remains unknown. At present, more than 30 genetic
disorders, often and curiously presenting with neurological impairment, share an altered number of
repeated nucleotides, albeit the FMR1 gene mutation is undoubtedly the most studied. A CGG
triplet repeat expansion characterizes the FMR1 gene mutation. Although belonging to the genetic
conditions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is widely acknowledged that the X chromosome instability at Xq27.3 originates by a dynamic
mutation with a variable expansion of a trinucleotide (CGG) repeat (Budworth and McMurray,
2013). This gene instability seems to rely in the loss of AGG triplet inserts commonly identified
every 9 10 CGG triplets (Dombrowski et al., 2002). These AGG triplet repeats, accountable for
alleles stability of the CGG expansion, may deeply influence the risk of full mutation, as in
individuals carrying the same number of CGG repeats, such risk shows a 10 fold increase. The
AGG inserts may then influence the remodelling phenomena essential for the modulation of the
neurosignals, as they limit the further expansion of the CGG repeats (Eichler et al., 1994).
Microsatellites and triplet repeats probably contribute, during the adaptive evolution, to the species
diversity, thus representing a central mutational event (Kashi and King,

Federal Loyalty Security Program and the House Un American Activities Committees.

McCarthy abused his power over the people however. It shows how the senator became the public

The Red Scare campaigns of the Western media were presented on every applicable media
source. The use of print with easily de codable and emotive images helped to redefine national
identity as a virtuous and patriotic America, against a dangerous and destructive socialist east.
The media distributed extreme propagandist slogans such as Better Dead than Red! This type of
politicized propaganda served to cause hysteria over communism and nuclear war (Bernhard). It
worked to subdue any domestic sympathy for the enemy or resistance to the conflict that usually
occurs during war. It was a calculated action to maintain public antagonism towards the enemy and
rejection of their political and economic policies. The media extended the propaganda to every
aspect of western life, from radio, film, television and print to even schools. The film Red
Nightmare was taught as part of the standard curriculum and is evidence of the media providing
state sanctioned indoctrination of the populace. This act of media manipulation to create mass fear

unpopular opinion and spread the dominant agenda. It also assisted in the solidification and

Monotheistic Religion In The Paleolithic And Neolithic Period
Paleolithic: The Paleolithic period lasted from about 200,000 b.c. to about 10,000 b.c. It was the
early phase of the Stone Age; and encompassed a steady development of stone tools, antler and
bone artifacts, engraving on bone and stone, and paintings on the walls of caves and rock
structures. There was not much structure built or agriculture done in this period as the people lived
a nomadic lifestyle, migrating with the herds of animals they hunted for food.
Neolithic: The Neolithic period lasted from about 9000 b.c. to about 8000 b.c. It was the last phase
of the Stone Age; and encompassed the domestication of animals, the development of agriculture,
and the manufacturing of pottery and textiles. During this period people were beginning to settle
and develop a more sedentary way of life. With this type of life style came territorial issues,
meaning that because of the idea of settling and claiming land people would be more likely to
protect it or fight for it.
Monotheism: The basic definition of monotheism is the belief in one God. The opposite of
polytheism, which is the belief in many Gods, who each serve a different purpose. However, for a
monotheistic religion, the God is all knowing, all seeing and all powerful; this God would be the
sole creator and provider. There are three major religions associated with monotheism, Judaism,
Christianity and Islam.

The role of women in contemporary Turkey is defined by an ongoing gender equality struggle.
Many women are killed because of the Honor crimes . Women cannot have an abortion easily.
Also, they cannot go out alone or live alone either. There are too many situations that women face
in Turkey. Also women have rights to bodily integrity and autonomy, vote, work with fair wages
or equal pay, own property, education and have marital and parental rights. Even most of their
rights are protected by legal framework, still women are not free in our country. Mostly because of

The mere perception that a woman has behaved in a way that dishonors her family is sufficient
to trigger an attack on her life. In Turkey, especially in the east of the Turkey, honor killings are
very common. Girls married with the men (generally older than girls) because of economic issues.
Men give money for marrying with the girl. And also, if a girl has a relationship with a person
who unaccepted by the family, they find a husband for her and make her marry with him.
Education of Women Education is one of the most important human rights because it also affects
implementation of other human rights. For example if a woman don t know about her rights
like right to marry whoever she wants, she would think that they must marry with a person she
doesn t want to because of the forcemeat of her family. Also because of the lack of education
women can t be independent financially and must depend on their families or their husbands. In
Turkey, the lack of education is generally because of the economic reasons. Especially families in
the Eastern Turkey think that it is unnecessarily expense especially for the girls. For example if a
family has one boy and a girl kids, boy would have priority for education. Because of this,

Examples Of Chivalry In Medieval Literature
When one speaks of the knights of old, one must always speak of the Chivalric Code, that law by
which all knights, at least those spoken of in legend and Arthurian myth, abided. First spoken of in
The Song of Roland, the Chivalric Code details a specific set of guidelines and regulations that
knights had to maintain in order to keep the peace throughout the realm in which they abided. In
lines 1098 1100 of the Song, the Chivalric code has become the basis by which the stereotypical

Bibliographic Information: Klein, Martin A., Slavery And Colonial Rule in French West Africa,
1998, Cambridge University Press
The book bears importance in being one of the few studies about domestic slavery within the
French West Africa. It contributes to the field of study, by elaborating on the importance of slavery
in Senegal, Sudan and Guinea in Africa s development. The period of the study lies from 1876 to
1922, wherein Klein ultimately shows the evolution of slavery. In the years prior to 1876, Klein
argued that slavery had an economic and social significance in societies. There are two themes
which form a major part of the book. They include: the conflict between the French in the metropole
and the French in Africa; and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the social taboo of being an ex slave (or of slave heritage), there are ex slaves who are
afraid to mention their backgrounds to Klein. This obviously leads to a limitation of evidence,
which perhaps makes it difficult for the reader to form an idea on what slavery was fully like.
Despite this, Klein shows admiration for those of slave backgrounds in portraying them as being
spurred on by past oppressions, to achieve a better life than those with master backgrounds. To
further his arguments, Klein uses secondary sources as a basis to criticize traditional arguments.
Apart from the deep historical analysis and the descriptive historical events (which aid in backing
up Klein s knowledge and deep research in the field), the book s structure is significant. In terms
of illustrations, Klein uses maps, figures and pictures. Maps are an essential part of the book in
providing vivid ideas on where battles occurred or which societies were based where. In this case,
his writings and the maps form a symbiotic relationship, in that the reader can understand the
context through the use of maps and his writing (clear up properly). Each chapter is structured in a
way that allows the reader to navigate around the chapter and read the relevant information. All
chapters include an introductory section (aimed at outlining the key points of the chapter in

There are various sources through which the developer can get fund to finance real estate
development.
2.2.1.Equity Capital
This is the fund realized from personal savings and family savings. It is usually low because of low
per capital income, unequal distribution of income and high population in each family unit
resulting in excessive consumption, low savings and low investment in Nigeria.
Since this equity capital is usually small, it is prudent for him to decide on a mixture of equity and
debt capital which will not only guarantee the highest expected return but also not impair the
viability of the development. A developer s
Ability to borrow will be enhanced by the size of equity capital at his disposal.
2.2.2.Direct Loans
These are the loans got directly from the various lenders such as banks and other financial
institutions for a specific period. They are classified according to their duration, short, medium and
long terms.
(a) Short Term Loans
The conventional method of raising funds for the acquisition of land and the subsequent
development of potential investment property over a two to three year period is by way of short
term finance. The traditional sources of short term finance are the commercial and merchant banks
as well as finance houses. The terms on which these loans are provided are usually very stringent

Aristotle Virtuous
According to Aristotle virtue is achieving excellence of the soul. (1) For man to become virtuous
they must build habits that model virtuous behavior. Aristotle believed that moral virtue forms
through habit and no one is born virtuous. Under this premise virtue is both learned and practiced
through our behaviors. When one acts in a moral and virtuous way they become more virtuous, the
opposite is true also that if one acts in a non virtuous way they will learn to become less virtuous.
To be virtuous you also must maintain a balance which is called the mean. Aristotlefurther states
that you cannot merely define virtuein terms of characteristics, you must also specify the kind of
characteristic, and that this virtue renders good the thing itself of which it is the excellence, and
performs its function well at the same time.(2) To live in the mean is to be virtuous. The mean
is making choices that are the right amount of virtue, or the correct balance of choices. To act
either in excess or a lack of virtue is a vice. It is the ability of choosing to act in the mean or
middle that is considered virtuous. This can easily been in examples, if a wealthy man had the
resources to help others and give some of his money he could be a virtuous man if he did so while
acting in the mean. If the same man did not give to charities... Show more content on

When one find themselves in a situation of loss or heavy sadness it could move into despair. It
is normal to feel some despair with loss, so the mean would be so grieve then return to a more
normal state of feeling in a reasonable time. This would make this vice actually virtuous. The
opposite would cause it to continue as a vice. If someone fell into despair and never recovered
from it and let it consume their life this would be a vice. Another vice of despair would be if
someone had a despairing situation and did not react to it at all, or shunned the loss all together

Clockwork Orange Punishment
Nietzsche s Good and Evil Taken to the Extreme in the Chaotic Society of A Clockwork Orange.
When it comes to a prime example of questioning morality in Kubrick s films A Clockwork Orange
is a go to case study of free will and the morality of judgement and punishment. The film is an
analysis of humanity and explores topics such as aversion therapy which is not just a dystopian
fantasy but exists in the real world. It analyses punishment and examines the justice system both

With the help of Alex s perspective, the film also criticises the choices society makes. Going back
to Nietzsche s views on morality, it is worth noting that he condemns the Judeo Christian morality
as too strict and unhealthy. However, using that philosophy A Clockwork Orangeagain shows the
opposite as the society and law system s ethics are very much radical and they believe that the
only way they could eradicate the crime and chaos in society is to take people s right of choice. In
their criminology analysis of A Clockwork OrangeLichtenberg, Lune and McManimon (2004)
sum up the main issue concerned in the film with the statemen confirmed by the prison chaplain
that: If there is no choice, there is no morality. Therefore, Kubrick s film focuses on some
important questions and problems that are shown as issues of a dystopian society but are also
truly problems present in contemporary society as well such as: could the spectator blame the
establishment for being cruel and immoral if they are trying their hardest to eradicate relentless
crime or is taking someone s free will and right to choose an inhuman thing to do overall? The title
of the film ties in with Alex s journey and character development as he is transformed and

CPI,2014). Prices for basic food groups such as, processed fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy, and
poultry have each had their own changes in prices. From 2000 to 2014, eggs have had the
greatest amount of price increase, while sugar and sweets had one of the lowest. Not
surprisingly, foods that are considered healthy, like organic fruits and vegetables, have had a
greater increase in price when compared to nonorganic. This makes it harder for the average
family to be able to afford to a nutritious diet (USDA ERS Historical CPI,2014). Households are
defined by McConnell, Brue, and Flynn (2015) in their book, Economics: Principles, Problems,
Policies, as Economic entities (of one or more persons occupying a housing unit) that provide
resources to the economy and use the income received to purchase goods and services that satisfy
economic wants. Households have been seeing an increase in their income over time. The
empirical proof of that fact lies in several journals published by U.S. Government Printing Office.
In Selected Social and Economic Characteristics of Households Money Income in 1975 (1977), the
journal recorded a home income of $13,094. The next decade, another article is published and
outlines an income of $26,433

The Culture And Climate Is A System Of Shared Assumptions,...
Introduction The culture and climate both leave a major imprint on any organization. They tend to
have the biggest impact during transformational periods. In order for change to be present in any
organization, the leader must first identify and be able to stabilize both culture and climate
components. While organizational climate has been around for some time now, organizational
climate is a relatively recent development. (Papa, M.J., Daniels, T.D., Spiker, B.K. (2008)
Description
Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that governs how
people behave in organizations. The culture of an organization provides boundaries and guidelines
that help members of the organization know the correct way to perform their jobs. (McLaughlin,
John) Organizational climate is the umbrella term to indicate the process of quantifying the
organizational culture of an organization. It is a set of properties of the work environment,
perceived directly or indirectly by the employees, that is assumed to be a major force in influencing
employee behavior. Organizational climate can also be defined as the recurring patterns of
behavior, attitudes and feelings that characterize life in the organization. (MBA Brief)
There are several differences between the culture and climate. Being a part of a culture, often times
involve some adjusting to the new environment. For example, you wouldn t act the same in a rock
concert as you would a gospel concert. These

The Price Of The Stock Markets
Many millionaires have been created due to the creation of the stock markets. Heather Long
(2015) reported that less than half, or 48 percent, of American adults have money in stock markets.
That is approximately 153 million adults in America investing in stocks and the number grows
daily. The market is growing like never before because of the NASDAQComposite. What is a
stock? It is a good or merchandise kept in stock available for sale or distribution by a business or

Social Work Statement Of Interest Essay
Thomas S. (T.S.) Williams
Statement of Interest
Stephen F. Austin State University School of Social Work
Degree Objective: MSW
I would like to bring social justice to individual lives by advocating for equality and ensuring
access to basic resources for the most underserved populations in our communities. I have been
involved in community advocacy with different organizations for most of my adult life, and I
have always believed that if there is a problem work talking about then there also are solutions
worth exploring and implementing. I ve had a long term interest in the field of social work, however
it was in 2008 that I decided this was the field for me. I had the opportunity to volunteer with the
PeaceJam Foundation at a local conference; PeaceJam is an organization that works with 14 Nobel
Peace Laureates to mentor youth, creating young leaders committed to positive change in
themselves, their communities, and the world. The impact that I witnessed on the young
incredible lives was a defining moment; I knew that I was going to pursue a Masters in Social
Work; it feels like a calling rather than the unfulfilling office career I once pursued.
My success as an MSW candidate will be enhanced due to a multitude personal qualities, and life
experiences that center on themes of social equality. I have a history of advocacy and passion for
social justice that will further the social work profession when working with marginalized
communities. I have been deeply involved in

The Overpopulation Of Pets
According to webmd.com, 46% of people that took a survey claim that they are dog people.
They are obviously very popular pets, but we should all know that millions of dogs go into
shelters every year and most of them must be put down due to not finding a home. This is caused
by overpopulation of dogs from individuals meaning to buy their dogs from breeders instead of
shelters. Puppies bought from breeders are not spayed or neutered and this leads to the reproduction
of more puppies. The Animal Population Control article from the American Humane service states,
petoverpopulation encompasses two factors. (1) allowing dogs to reproduce with little chance to
find homes for the offspring and (2) pets being relinquished by owners who can no longer

The Border Patrol State Essay
The Border Patrol State
In The Border Patrol State Leslie Silko makes accusations of the border patrol s mistreatment of
American citizens of Mexican decent, making the argument with almost evidence. Silko, a critically
acclaimed poet, sees the border patrol as a governmental assembly addicted to interrogation, torture,
and the murder of those they see fit.
Leslie Silko certainly makes accusations that some could argue far exceed the boundaries of
journalism integrity, and fail to deliver with evidence to back them up.
The author of this piece is a Mexican American living in the Southwest United States.
The author is using personal experience to convey a problem to his or her audience. The audience

She tells a story of her and her companion Gus being treated as illegal immigrants although they
present Arizona identification.
They are pushed around and even have the dog unleashed on them. She goes onto compare the
treatment of Mexican Americans by the United States Border Patrol to, Argentina s dirty war in
the late 1970 s (124). From here it is onto how well the border patrol discriminates, and how they
will do their best to find any reason to bring the brown man down. Silko explains the way in
which people are detained. She actually reaches out to the reader and tells him or her personally
how they could identify themselves being detained. She makes claims throughout this
explanation of how the detainee is treated unjustly, like when she states, They make it clear that
if you force them to obtain a search warrant for the car, they will make you submit to a strip
search as well (125). Silko starts to bring some half way evidence into the picture by talking
about the more high profile cases of the abuse of the border patrol s power. She gives us more
facts as we reach the middle of the reading. Eighty percent of the respondents from a survey done
by the University of Arizona in South Tucson identified that one in every five had been detained,
mistreated, or questioned by INS agents in the past two years. Manifest Destiny... lock the door is

of a job, we start to learn more about Rogo s family life and how that weighs in on his job. Since
moving back home six months ago Rogo s family was not adjusting well and the plant problems
wasn t allowing Rogo to balance both successfully. Their marriage begins to strain because of the
devotion Rogo needs to give to the plant. While in a team meeting Rogo starts to reflect of his
life and how he is back at square one is some ways. He thinks back on a conversation he had with a
college friend, Jonah. Jonah was a Physicist and in catching up they discussed the production plant
and the new implementation of robots on the assembly line. Jonah didn t agree that the robots
increased production efficiency; in this reflection Rogo realized the goal of his company was to
make money.
The Next day at work Rogo converses with Lou the plant s controller about the goal of the plant,
Lou agrees they discuss the tools used to tell if a company is making money. Rogo knows he has
little time to turn things around, but so much more is needed so he decides he to talk to Jonah
again. After finally getting a hold of Jonah, Rogo gets 3 measurements with specific definitions to
work out the goal, throughput, inventory, and operational expense. Rogo is left to figure

Technology A Disconnection
Opinion Piece Technology: A Disconnection Over the past few years, technology has become a
significant part of people s every day lives. It helps people connect with those far away, but in the
process, disconnects themselves from others close with them. Technology has helped improve the
lives of many people through transportation and more, but overall has torn us apart. The constant
usage of technology has people s eyes glued to a small screen; they often forget to communicate
with those around them. Cell phones have developed over the years to become not only a way to
talk with others, but to have forms of entertainment, social media, and other means of
communication. Many people today only rely on their phones or computers, and... Show more

The urge to be connected has become more of an addiction than a form of convenient
communication; due to the amount of time people spend on technology. This causes a severe
disconnection with others around them. People spend more time looking at the perfect lives of
other celebrities, that they forget to enjoy what is around them. If people spend more time looking
up from their screens, they could make more friendships or companionships with other people.
Imagine all the possible conversations you missed because you were too busy talking to people
through a screen, instead of those around you. People often use their means of technology as a way
to distract them or avoid talking to others. Perhaps this is due to the social disconnect they have
with others around them. If people spend less time on technology, more connections with people
would form. You would have more time to do things you want to do, such as reading, exercise, or
more. Instead of connecting with people through technology, we should make connections with
people close to us the top priority. After years of being developed, technology specifically and
computers have been used too much, that they cause a disconnection instead of a connection.
Technology has its benefits, but in many cases, it is often unnecessary and a waste of time. People
should spend less time connecting through technology, and reconnect with those around

Mandela Long Walk To Freedom Essay Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom was a film directed by Justin Chadwick about the life of Nelson Mandela and a revolution he led Anti Apartheid Movement. The movie was released on November 28, 2013, a week before Mandela s death . It was based on Mandela s autobiography Long Walk to Freedom . The film includes many factual incidents which took place in South Africaduring that time period. The movie shows most of the trivial details and the oppressed people s suffering. Overall, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is a movie that accurately depicts the events that occurred at the time. His struggle did not go without change, Mandela describes his journey as a Long Walk to Freedom, which shows that even though it was long, he still got to where he wanted to be after all. He finally accomplished his purpose and goal in life. I chose this movie because I remember how many people were affected by his death and saw him on the news a lot for a while, but I never knew why he was such a respected man. I knew about the Apartheid, but I did not know what role he played in it. After viewing the movie and seeing the obstacles he overcame and the hardship he endured, I was able to understand why so many people looked up to him. • 5. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Herpes Viruses Etiology To start off my paper, I want to make something clear. There are two types of herpes viruses. HSV 1 is the type that usually causes cold sores or fever blisters around your mouth. HSV 2 is the type that commonly causes genital herpes. The virus spreads through sexual contact and skin to skin contact. HSV 2 is very common and highly contagious, whether or not you have an open sore (Aurelius, p. 3). Genital Herpes is more commonly caused by HSV 2 but is known to be caused by HSV 1. Oral Herpes is known to be caused by both variations of the virus but most commonly by HSV 1. HSV 1 can also spread from the mouth to the genitals during oral sex (fellatio, cunnilingus, analingus). If this happens, the strain can change and become a case of genital herpes. Can we afford to continue ignoring the connection between television violence and the increase in mass murders? The answer is no. St. Thomas Aquinas further explains something, that I feel is very important to understand in terms of one s morality. He says, while all human beings lead their lives towards the ultimate end, being God, it is how one will walk that path that will determine our eternal life. In this path, he refers to the importance of prudence. For it is prudence that allows one to choose the path that is right before God. Prudence, can therefore be described as one of the most important virtues one can have according to Thomas Aquinas. Having researched his works and his views on prudence, I now feel it is important to re evaluate my own moral living, in order to place a much greater emphasis on prudent living as it allows one to come closer to God and catch glimpses of His perfection. Therefore, I feel one of the most significant ways St. Thomas Aquinas has bettered my understanding of moral and ethical living, is through the importance of prudence, a virtue he obviously held in high regard. The second way by which St. Thomas Aquinas has influenced my understanding of moral and ethical living is through his teachings on temperance. Temperance is to seek pleasure rationally as Aquinas puts it. Not only does he speak much about this virtue in moral living, but he certainly lived it out. LAW CENTER I Law Center I would not begin until the second semester of the first year. In the first semester, as noted above, students would complete practical skills instruction in doctrinal courses and the cross curricular hypothetical, which would give students a foundation of experience that could be refined in the first clinical course. For example, in the first semester, students would perform an initial client interview, conduct book and electronic research, and draft a predictive memorandum, client letter, and complaint. At the beginning of the second semester of the first year, a select group of high performing students would be chosen to participate in Law Center I, and assignments would be consistent with the assignments completed in the first semester. Thus, in Law Center I, students would interview and screen potential clients, and perform research. In doing so, Law Center I provides students with the opportunity to transfer skills learned in the prior semester to a new legal context and on behalf of a real client. This approach would be followed in each subsequent semester, with students building upon the skills acquired in doctrinal and skills courses, and faculty gradually increasing the complexity of work and level of responsibility. Harry s point of view on the Ministry s actions shows the audience that the Ministry is continuing to lose credibility from Harry s perspective. The Ministry s lack of credibility as illustrated through Harry s point of view is a theme Rowling repeats in the Harry Potter series. It is Rowling s style to create controversy in the plot so she can use Harry to address such conflict and in turn teach the readers how to confront injustice in their own world. An example of how Rowling utilizes Harry s point of view to face immorality is when Harry questions Scrimgeour on the undeserved arrest of Stan Shunpike. In response to Harry s confrontation, Scrimgeour responds, These are dangerous times, and certain measures need to be taken. You are sixteen years old (346). Scrimgeour s retort is used to show the perception of children being too young to understand adults actions. However, the audience is aware of Harry s point of view on Stan s arrest and knows that Harry has made a logical argument on why his arrest was unjust. Rowling makes Harry seem well informed on Stan Shunpike s arrest in order to appeal to the audience s ethos. Thus, because Harry is a credible source the audience agrees with Harry s opinion. • 25. Film Analysis Of Rear Window By William Hitchcock Rear Window has unique filmography. Emphasising the idea of voyeurism and watching others. Observing the first scene instead of beholding the main character or even side characters, you recognize the building of the various apartments and the courtyard and then you meet Jeff. Jeff is a broken man, he lays down sweating, asleep on a chair. But you only catch a glimpse of Jeff, he is not important instead the film focuses on the people in the apartments nearby in the rest of the film he will watch out his window. Through this film, you observe this evolution of the characters through the lens of this beautifully shot film made by the sets and background characters. Without sets, this film would not be exactly what it is. This story is told through its images, music and background characters as much if more than its lead. This is a movie about watching movies and as an audience member, you re watching Jeff watches his neighbors. Hitchcock bluntly tells us we are watching a film. An enormous amount of the film is at night similar to a dark theater this is shown in. Hitchcock shows the audience us through Jeff. By focusing on the community and the environment in the film before you even meet Jeff present the theme of the film. By showing the composer shaving, the couple who sleeps outside to avoid the heat, the dancer stretching before you view Jeff cast and his room. You distinguish how he lives his life in the opening scene and his room. True you discover, he is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Example Of Case Study Oedema Outline of case and Objectives The case that this literature review deals with is the management of a 44 year old female patient presenting with signs and symptoms of pulmonary oedema. She has a cardiac history of having angina and left sided heart failure. She had also experienced pulmonary oedema about 2 months prior to this ambulance call out and while she was being treated in hospital for the pulmonary oedema she had a pleural tap inserted as she presented with a pleural effusion. Chronic medications prescribed to this patient are isordil, asprin (300mg daily) and Lasix (to which she occasionally defaults off of). • 27. Verkerk s FMR1 Genetic Disorder INTRODUCTION Verkerk discovered the fragile X mental retardation 1 (FMR1) gene in 1991, in individuals with a chromosomal instability at the 5 untranslated exon 1 on the long arm of the X chromosome (Xq27.3), a location closely related to autoimmunity (Verkerk et al., 1991). The position of this unstable region in a non coding exon is a typical trait shared by other nucleotide repeat disorders, even though the reason of such association remains unknown. At present, more than 30 genetic disorders, often and curiously presenting with neurological impairment, share an altered number of repeated nucleotides, albeit the FMR1 gene mutation is undoubtedly the most studied. A CGG triplet repeat expansion characterizes the FMR1 gene mutation. Although belonging to the genetic conditions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is widely acknowledged that the X chromosome instability at Xq27.3 originates by a dynamic mutation with a variable expansion of a trinucleotide (CGG) repeat (Budworth and McMurray, 2013). This gene instability seems to rely in the loss of AGG triplet inserts commonly identified every 9 10 CGG triplets (Dombrowski et al., 2002). These AGG triplet repeats, accountable for alleles stability of the CGG expansion, may deeply influence the risk of full mutation, as in individuals carrying the same number of CGG repeats, such risk shows a 10 fold increase. The AGG inserts may then influence the remodelling phenomena essential for the modulation of the neurosignals, as they limit the further expansion of the CGG repeats (Eichler et al., 1994). Microsatellites and triplet repeats probably contribute, during the adaptive evolution, to the species diversity, thus representing a central mutational event (Kashi and King, ... Despite this, Klein shows admiration for those of slave backgrounds in portraying them as being spurred on by past oppressions, to achieve a better life than those with master backgrounds. To further his arguments, Klein uses secondary sources as a basis to criticize traditional arguments. Aristotle believed that moral virtue forms through habit and no one is born virtuous. Under this premise virtue is both learned and practiced through our behaviors. When one acts in a moral and virtuous way they become more virtuous, the opposite is true also that if one acts in a non virtuous way they will learn to become less virtuous. To be virtuous you also must maintain a balance which is called the mean. Aristotlefurther states that you cannot merely define virtuein terms of characteristics, you must also specify the kind of characteristic, and that this virtue renders good the thing itself of which it is the excellence, and performs its function well at the same time.(2) To live in the mean is to be virtuous. The mean is making choices that are the right amount of virtue, or the correct balance of choices. To act either in excess or a lack of virtue is a vice. It is the ability of choosing to act in the mean or middle that is considered virtuous. I ve had a long term interest in the field of social work, however it was in 2008 that I decided this was the field for me. I had the opportunity to volunteer with the PeaceJam Foundation at a local conference; PeaceJam is an organization that works with 14 Nobel Peace Laureates to mentor youth, creating young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world. The constant usage of technology has people s eyes glued to a small screen; they often forget to communicate with those around them. If people spend less time on technology, more connections with people would form. You would have more time to do things you want to do, such as reading, exercise, or more.
