Health-related physical fitness refers to those
components of fitness associated with good
health.
What are the components of health-related
fitness?
CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE is the capacity of
the heart and the lungs to sustain oxygen to the
muscles for a prolonged period of time.
MUSCULAR ENDURANCE refers to the ability of
the muscle to work over a prolonged period
without fatigue.
MUSCULAR STRENGTH refers to the maximum
amount of force a muscle can exert against an
opposing force.
FLEXIBILTY is the ability to move a body part
through a full range of motion at a joint.
BODY COMPOSITION is the ratio of body fat to
lean body mass. Having too much fat tissues is a
risk for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer,
and arthritis.
DETERMINING BODY COMPOSITION
BMI or Body Mass Index evaluates a person in
terms of height and weight to determine total
body mass. It determines your total body fat
compared to lean mass. It serves as a guide to
consider if you are at risk of obesity.
Proper nutrition means eating a balanced diet
from various sources. It is a kind of nutrition
necessary for the cells in the body to stay alive.
What is resting pulse and recovery rate? The
organ of the body concerned with resting pulse
and recovery rate is the heart. The heart is a
muscle that pumps and supplies blood and
oxygen to the whole body through the arteries.
Radial Pulse Your pulse is your heart rate, or the
number of times your heart beats in one minute.
Carotid Pulse You can take your pulse using the
radial artery in your wrist or the carotid artery in
your neck.
BPM (beats per minute) Your heartbeat can be
measured through the beats per minute (BPM)
test. You can identify your heart rate through your
pulse rate which is usually taken using the pads of
the middle finger.

2. Procedure:
1. measure your radial pulse by placing your index
and middle fingers of one hand on the wrist of
your other hand, 2.5 centimeters of 1 inch below
the base of your hand.
2. Then, press your fingers down just between
the tendons and outside of your bone. You have
to feel the beat, which is your pulse.
3. For 15 seconds, count the number of beats
and multiply it by

BPM.

1. Place your fingers on one side of your neck
between the neck muscles and windpipe.
2. Count the number of beats in 15 seconds and

Space- It is the area that the performers occupy
and where they move in and around. It can be
divided into four different aspects, also known as
spatial elements.
Timing- The movements may be executed at
varying tempos (speed). Performers move with
the tempo of an underlying sound, known as beat
or pulse. The timing can be altered by moving
faster or slower than the regular beat.
Dance Energies- dance movements are propelled
by energy or force. A force can either initiate or
stop an action.
Bodily Shapes They refer to how the entire body
is molded in space or the configuration of body
parts.
Group Shapes A group of dancers performs
movements in different group shapes. They are
arranged in wide, narrow, rounded, angular,
symmetrical, or asymmetrical ways.
MODERATE AND VIGOROUS: Physical Activity
Physical Activity- refers to all movement
including during leisure time, for transport to get
to and from places, or as part of a person’s work.
Both moderate- and vigorous intensity physical
activity improve health.

End/Conclusion- should be clear and may be in
the form of a shape, pose or an exit.
What is Form?
-a Form is an instrument by which ideas and
elements are arranged or combined into a logical
sequence, resulting in unity and consistency.
What is Phrase?
-a Phrase is the smallest unit of form in the whole
dance.
What is Motif?
-a single movement or a short phrase of
movement that embodies the style and intention
of the dance is called Motif.
How does the quality of dance evaluate?
Choreographers- they will evaluate a part of an
ongoing process of developing a personal style
that is both spontaneous and organized.
Dancers- they will evaluate according to the
specific demands that the performance places on
them.
Audiences- they will evaluate according to the
context of the dance.

1) Description- involves closely observing all
the elements, characteristics, and
components of dance.
2) Interpretation- involves an appreciation of
the ideas, content, images, and style
contained within the dance.
3) Evaluation- consider how effectively the
features and the context of the dance.
